TOM, I am thinking of you today and praying for a pain free passing for your Dad. Your virtual family were on YMAM will be here to provide emotional support for you.
Even if it is the middle of the night, (I am not supposed to be on my phone in the middle of the night, but I often am). I was reading the boards last night  Your Dad will soon join your Mother in Heaven, and be free from his earthly pains. Just remember that while you are grieving your loss, he will be in a better place |

I do hope it's today or tonight, for dad's sake.
Hospice said he needed to hear the good byes, even if by phone. Sister said she had let all four know. I hope since when I was there, he was very agitated and the morphine was not calming him, she has them call him to say good bye.
I don't want him suffering any longer than necessary and he is suffering and has been suffering since this blindness happened. He suffered prior to that but nothing compared to what he has been through since he became blind.
I called the vet and I'm going to board Lucy. I didn't know they boarded cats but they do. Given the circumstances and the time of year, she said they will hold a kennel for her as they never reserve all the kennels. That makes me feel better about Lucy.
The other good thing is the weather is supposed to be above normal and no snow through the end of the year. That is a good thing. I've been to December funerals when it's -20.

Hospice says dad will probably be with mom by morning. Are you with him now, or are you keeping your distance because you have already said your goodbyes or because the hospice workers told you that staying there wasn't helpful? I'm kinda asking because my father lost his mother about two weeks ago. She was in hospice and he had visited earlier in the day but wasn't there at the end. I haven't yet summoned the courage to ask him about that afternoon. Do hospice workers sometimes tell you to go home even when they expect to be calling your by morning?

I decided when my mom died that I did not want to be present when dad actually passed. My goodbyes have been said and I am at peace with that.
The hospice workers did not tell anyone to leave when mom died or now. I am choosing not to be there.

I'm already exhausted. I have been since this started. Also have problems eating.
Dad is going to be with mom very soon and that is where he wants to be.

I’m so sorry, hugs to you. I know the coming days and weeks will carry their own difficulties, but you can hopefully take comfort in the knowledge that your parents are at peace together and you were a supportive and loving daughter to them throughout their journeys to the end. Please check in with us as you can to vent or ask support as needed; there are a lot of people on here that care about you.
