I’m driving to North Carolina. Absolutely dreading it. The upside is the Biltmore and Downton Abbey exhibit I loved the Biltmore!

annual whiskey drinking( wild turkey of course) boot stompnig, blood letting(always at least one fight ) good time I wanna go to that party and I don't care how far I have to travel. Just us two this year. The vegan niece and her DH are going to Ashville and my brother has to travel a lot on business this month and next month, so I gave him a pass on dinner this year. We are heading over his way in January (I have a race near Tampa) so we will do a family reunion with them and some cousins who have a condo in Sarasota.
We'll have a nice little dinner - turkey breast, stuffing, fresh steamed green beans, share a baked sweet potato, fresh cranberry compote and gravy. I bought a nice wine to go with the meal, and hubs wants a Dutch apple pie, which I will make from scratch.

I’m in Tampa The race is north of there in Spring Hill, but close enough. We will be there Jan 3-5. It's the Marathon Mania event that begins and ends at Anderson Snow Park.

On Wednesday, we have a 40% chance of rain. I have to drive all the way over to Cracker Barrel to pick up Thursday's pre-cooked T'Day feast. In traffic and maybe in the rain. There's no school Wednesday so there will be a gazillion people out shopping early. CB is about six-eight miles from us. Sigh.
So far our forecast for Thursday says a high of 59, mostly cloudy, 30% chance of rain.
I'm going to have to walk from The Hovel, through the back hall into DD's kitchen. I'll need to get up real early to fortify myself so that I'll have enough energy to get there from here and then not be too tired to eat.

going by boat we are a hour or so from medical so talking with several folks going to be there thanksgiving decided we are not going to allow knives or guns this year. I volunteered to frisk the female folks. Knowing most of them they will not mind. I consider this a win almost got shot last year and getting to old to belly crawl. I decided to post menu deer(and wild turkey), fried fish(and wild turkey),wild turkey(and wild turkey),wild turkey whiskey because none of this ever comes out edible. Good gator/ boat bait though

Heading to Chicago for work on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Flying. Into ORD. Send wine. One word: Teleconference. Seriously. You won’t get there until Monday, anyway. 😖 Wish I could.

We are flying on Thanksgiving day and coming back on Monday. We are going to an engagement party Sunday evening and before that we will be meeting up with family and friends in a couple locations.

Gassed up at Costco, $2.10 a gallon. I leave Wednesday but have no place to drive to until Wednesday. Made the bed for the house/cat sitter and dusted her room. I’ll clean floors again tomorrow. Exercise in futility.

Our plans have changed yet again.
I am now cooking almost everything but the turkey, packing it up, and driving 3 hours to DBIL’s. DFIL, who lives with DBIL and his family, has prostate cancer which we were told wouldn’t kill him but now appears to be doing just that albeit very slowly. DFIL is still mobile and active, but has had a couple of mini strokes of late (metastes?), a couple of frightening falls, and other concerning issues. He’s a good guy — I hate to see him suffer. So, off we go to spend the day with him and DBIL’s family. We’ll drive home 3 hours after dinner because I have to work at 8:30 Friday morning — Black Friday at a business with a HUGE Christmas season. Ugh.

GRG a/k/a goldenrulegirl I hope you're in an area where the weather is going to cooperate with your drive. Safe travels there and back!
