You know when you say something stupid like "I'm so happy I am moving and will never need to fix plumbing here again?"
Argh.
My kid pulled on my kitchen sink's cold water supply line trying to remove a fitting I told him to leave alone, and the pipe broke and came out of the floor along with a few gallons of water...
I cut a bit of the subfloor out. There's a lot of water damage and crap under the area as it appears to have been leaking a long time. Long enough to form a giant calcite rock around the plumbing...
Don't care in this case about the damage, they are going to strip this house and grow in it... I just need working plumbing until I escape. And, since it broke below the shutoff valve, I have no water at the moment.
Glued the pipe back together and will wait the full 24 hours to let it cure then slather it with silicone sealant to ensure it doesn't leak. Going to bury the whole mess in spray foam, since all the other plumbing in the cabinet already is due to freeze issues.
Buyers and broker already inspected, so I don't have to deal with anyone checking too closely at the repair before I get out of here. I had to replace the damaged kitchen sink and found this mess. Of course.
Good news is the buyers only asked I mark the legal boundaries of the property so they can put in fences and otherwise said it was fine. Sounds like they will close. I referred them to the section in the contract that tells them to get a survey. Ain't going there at all. Nope.

Nahhh. Murphy isn't visiting; he just sent a greeting card. You'll be fine with all the silicone and spray foam and stuff.

Sounds like you're going to skate on past this one, @shastasnewlife. But just to be sure knock on wood (I use my head) when you say something that may make the gods jealous.

shasta ........ fingers and toes crossed for a quick and easy move. Thank you. I plan to be out of here by Thanksgiving. Damn it's a lot of work... I'm exhausted and still have a ton to do.

Yesterday was a great day. I reattached the broken CPVC pipe and let it cure overnight in hopes of a good weld. In the early morning, I slathered the outside of the pipe with Flex Seal because the hardware store guy said the growers use those on leaking plumbing for their grows and it works well. Turned on the water after a long day of clearing out crap, and it's no longer leaking! Yay! Filled the entire back of the cabinet with spray foam to match the "weatherizing" foam that was already there. Looks good and even if it were to leak now, I think it would send the water under the house. One problem solved. Still need to install the new sink, faucet, and drain plumbing and that project will be finished. Yesterday, I traded my late-DH's old packrat poo covered vehicle to a neighbors kid who wants to fix it up and drive it. When they came to get it, they also wanted a bunch of other crap I was planning on trashing. As thanks for the stuff, they offered to haul ALL of my junk in my yard/house for free. I assume they will scrap some metal, use the wood for burning, and then use/sell whatever else. I'm 100% fine with that. It would probably cost me about $800K+ to have hauled it off. A young girl the kids went to school with wanted my old truck bed trailer that was full of trash. So, I traded it to her in exchange for dumping it. It didn't have any value and having it gone makes the yard look a lot better. She wants to buy another old vehicle I have that needs repairs and might have a buyer for my son's broken car as well. I still have yet to pack a single box, but I have managed to clear out over 1/2 of my shop and about 75% of my house. It's progress but it seems to take forever. And, I am so sore and tired. 13 more days and I am turning off the power and escaping the land of shit water.
