I turned it on before vacation to take the chill off. It was 65 downstairs and I was working at home. Had I been leaving for work I would have left it off. It will probably come on later this week for good. Based on the forecast.

Thermostat is set at 64 degrees. The heat has been running, but nothing like it will when it gets really cold.

It was about 40 degrees outside this morning, but my house was still at 72. Helps I'm sure to have an all brick exterior.

We turned on the heat about a week and a half ago. Daytime temps are in the upper 40's to low 50's with nights dropping into the 20's. We use the woodstove as our main source of heat if we are home all day. The ductless units are set at 66 degrees and used sparingly.

It was 41 just now coming home from Dr. appt. Haven't had the heat on in the house yet and it's still 69 here in the house.
Going to put on a winter coat and go get gas, should have done that yesterday.....but oh well, I know where my gloves are and the coat. But, the heat stays off for now.

Woke up to about 3 inches of snow. It's 27 degrees. My heat has been running.

I caved in and have had it on maybe an hour a day. I've got a Nest thermostat and I love it but it stopped following the schedule I set- I had to manually turn the temperature up when I woke up even though I had it set to bring the temperature up at 6:30 AM. I finally called the power company "hotline" (they'd provided the Nest for free in exchange for being permitted to cycle my A/C on and off in peak periods). I spent 10 minutes on hold, 20 minutes with a gatekeeper type who had a hard time finding my account even though I provided the number (they were recently taken over by another company) and finally half an hour with a tech who walked me through a factory reset. Really cumbersome because I did it all through the control on the wall and I'm used to operating it through the phone app and from my laptop. I got it working again and after I got off the land line I had to go to the smartphone app and add it again, scanning a QR code on the thermostat. Victory! It's now following the schedule. The tech had initially told me that it was out of warranty (expired in July after 2 years) and it might be failing due to "wear and tear". Ummm.... yeah, maybe I left it out in the rain too many times.

Mine is still off this morning and temp in house was down to 69 when I got up. However, tonight the low is supposed to be 27, possible rain/sleet/snow etc, so I may have to give in and turn the thing on.

I had ours on for two separate days to just take the chill off. Then it warmed back up. Looks like it will probably go on Friday night.

I plugged in the tank heater for the horses outside water tank today. Every year I say I'm going to build an insulated box around it and every year I forget until the weather already turns crappy and then I don't want to.

We’ve been all over the place with the heat and a/c. We started using the heat maybe a couple weeks ago. DBF was worried about our house not having enough insulation, despite it being all brick. Well, it definitely holds heat. If we run the heat during the day, it’s too hot to sleep at night. So he turns on the a/c. Then it’s freezing when I get up for work in the mornings. When I got home from work today, The a/c was still on, but not running because it’s a bit chilly outside. And it was chilly in the house. So I turned the heat on. We wouldn’t have to go back and forth so much if I could use the practically new ceramic space heaters I own. Then we could just warm up the rooms we’re using at the time. But we have aluminum wiring and something about aluminum wiring and space heaters freaked DBF out (my eyes always glaze over and my brain checks out when he talks about that kind of thing ), so I’m not allowed to use them. Never mind that my other house has aluminum wiring and I’ve used space heaters every year during the 18 years I lived there with no problems. So let’s just heat the entire house, including the 7 or 8 rooms that aren’t being used, and then turn the a/c on when it’s time to go to bed. The weather forecast calls for a high of 43 tomorrow, with a low of 29. I don’t imagine we’ll need to turn the a/c on tomorrow night lol.

I am from the land of summer winter going into darn it's so hot I'm gonna die even with the air conditioner on. Then it's early fall winter followed by fall winter with a few actual winter winter days in there. Followed by ARCTIC FREEZE WINTER, and it never ends until a crocus says, it's spring winter, time for crocus to peak up through the snow.

The house temp is set at 55 but here in the bedroom I’m fine (until I have to get up and go to the bathroom). I unplug it as soon as I wake up. It’s never left unattended when plugged in.

I'm in eastern PA and haven't turned on the heat yet. Frankly, I still have my a/c on! I've heard it kick on in the last few days too. It's set at 73, and it's been tough sleeping. Today's temperature is supposed to be 70, so don't see the heat coming on yet!

I loved mine too. They’re convenient when the temperatures are still fluctuating and it’s not cold all the time yet. But I don’t want to argue about whether the house will burn down if we use them. With my luck, I’d win the argument, then the house would burn down.
