I'm going with an expensive one...something I don't normally do, but we shall see....

DLTR, long....Dollar Tree.   

I looked at Dollar General but it was even higher priced...but the way things are going, more folks are going to be shopping in these places.

He's going to have to back track on a lot of stuff next year then...like tariffs & demands on companies, etc.

Yep, I've been keeping my eye on that TS/hurricane for a couple of days nw.  Hoping it doesn't do a lot of damage on it's way here.
Do you have a way to evac if necessary Mod?

kadee………..our ALF is well-built, no evacuation plans, if we get a hit we wiil ride it out.  We have emergency back-up ppwer in case of need.  Staff will stay with us.  Hope the path will take a jog north or south of Orlando.  The coastal area will get the full force, we are 30+ miles inland.  We have had a lot of rain, so there will be flooding in the area, good thing we have good run off near us.  Landfall now next Monday if predictions are correct.

Yes Mod....I have a friend who works for the county where Orlando is located...she will be at the EOC...which I think stands for the Emergency Operations Center in the county.  She lives outside Mims, nearly right on the coast...her DH will ride it out at their house too.  They are as hurricane proof as you can make an existing house.  She is a great DIYer & grows nearly all their veggies & fruits there on their property...and has chickens & bees too.
Stay safe & I hope someone loads up on non-refrigerated foods & plenty of water.

ETA...I just looked at Orlando on google maps....I didn't realize how many small lakes & ponds there were in that area...yes, you will have flooding if Dorian drops as much as predicted.  Keep your feet up.

As I said last week I had a couple of picks but was afraid to go with them after Friday's trade war events were going on. One was Best Buy, which reported this morning and is down on sales miss rather than trade war talk.
Yesterday and today the stock markets are good.

VB,,,,,,,pre labor day rally?  If Friday continues to be up-side, it will be confirmed. 
Who knows what "Tweetie" will tweet to upset the apple cart at any time?  Hard to rely on anything anymore.

Wondering if it is a lot of funds rebalancing the portfolios at the end of the month, but this is not a quarterly ending.....September should be the rebalancing month, or so I thought. 
Retailers and banks are all doing good today. If we are heading for a recession, retailers should continue downward. Even JCP was up $.16 a share this morning and that is a $.60 cent a share stock.
Falling bond rates should hurt the banks, and yet JP Morgan was up $3 a share today...... Crude oil is up helping the oil complex, both suppliers, drillers, and downstream companies.
This is really strange.
Might be some stock traders are back from vacation a couple of days early to clean up their portfolios??
Just hope it does not sell off tomorrow due to a very long weekend. Some traders do not like being long in the portfolio when trading is going on around the world on Monday and closed here in the states.
Everthing is good except for my SJM stock pick.......

DG was the other stock I almost went with this week........we both should have gone with it. I thought it had too much of a tie in with China, biut I now read it is mostly consumer merchandise from American companies.......
