I think I lost more during the previous week. Last week seemed to be up and down. I'm sure we are still up for the year.

I pay so little attention that I didn't even know the market was down until I saw this thread. I have $5k of the 5500 needed to open a roth for myself this year. I should get on that and open one before the market goes back up! Also curious to me that some are posting gains. Does that mean they are in bonds or something? The markets went up quite a bit during the first half of this year, after dropping during the last quarter of 2018. I imagine most investors would still be up compared to Dec 2018 or Jan 2019.

Nice chart. Confusing x-axis. Weighted somehow for percentage? Weighted for current value? Care to share the caption that doesn't appear?
Okay, that was too cryptic. But can you please explain to me why increments of 200 shorten so much as you go up the x-axis? Just take a look at the bottom two increments and the top two increments if you don't know what I am pointing out.
I exported it in logarithmic scale. www.macrotrends.net/2488/sp500-10-year-daily-chart

I agree- although I haven't looked, I'm guessing that the gains through the end of July still outweigh whatever has happened the last few weeks.

I'm down about four thousand from last week (I update on Mondays). What makes me a little sad is that three weeks ago I was just $4,000 away from a milestone and now I'm $22,000 away.

I just looked today and it's not as bad, of course- but through July my Internal Rate of Return was 13.3%. Annualized (in other words, if it continued at that rate though the end of the year) it would be 24%. That would be nice, but pretty unrealistic.
What goes up must come down (a bit).

Right now up 255 points. Have almost recovered the entire sell off from last week. Breathe easy people, breathe easy.

Not looking too close. But I know we receded from a very major net worth milestone that we hit July 1st.

No, we don't walk away. But when we're holding on to something precious, we run.

Until last night, I was with the "not gonna look" peeps. However, we have an appointment with our tax accountant tomorrow so TD wanted a full accounting of all of our retirement accounts - so I looked.
It wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. I think 2 accounts were about the same as they were 3 months ago and another 2 accounts were down only about $1000 (or about 1%).
Like Athena, my ROR on my accounts was in the 12-13% range for the year so far.
