President Donald Trump phoned a supporter he mocked as overweight during Thursday's New Hampshire rally and left a message, according to a senior administration official. Trump mocked the man while delivering remarks from the podium during his rally in a Manchester arena, apparently confusing him for a protester. "That guy's got a serious weight problem," Trump said as the man escorted out several protesters. "Go home. Start exercising." "Get him out of here please. Got a bigger problem than I do," the President joked. "Got a bigger problem than all of us. Now he goes home and his mom says, 'What the hell have you just done?'" www.cnn.com/2019/08/16/politics/donald-trump-supporter-weight-new-hampshire-rally/index.htmlDumbass. A guy with a weight problem is mocking a guy with a weight problem. That's all Trump has in his repertoire, mocking and name-calling.

This is the thing I don't get:
The man Trump appeared to criticize, Frank Dawson, told Fox News after the rally, "Everything's good, I love the guy. He's the best thing that ever happened to this country."
I don't get the accepting of the mocking. I know it's a thing that people do to the people they love. But, really, there's an underlying nasty-ness to it - even when you supposedly do it 'jokingly' to someone you love.
The only people I know who constantly 'lovingly' mock each other are people who truly dislike each other but can't cut the ties that bind. They are married or business partners or have some dependence on each other. (I witnessed a lot of married couples with this barely covered up contempt for each other as a kid... I could not figure out why anyone (a woman) would want to get married if she didn't have to.... so maybe I have a bias and loving couples often say nasty things to each other as a joke....)
