I can see why you would need a prayer break if you work on an assembly line, but why would an office worker need a prayer break? I take a few minutes to meditate/clear my head in my chair all the time. Can't to you just spin your chair the direction you're supposed to pray, say your prayer, and get back to work?

Muslims with an office often do shut their doors for a few minutes of prayer. And Muslims who work in a cubicle can sometimes pray silently within them too. Co-workers just need to be aware not to disturb.

It is absolutely public knowledge. You can go to your town/ city hall and get it. Both parties maintain voter lists. Your vote is private, but your voter registration is not. Again, in my state you can't get it online unless you have all of the information, which includes the date of birth (I only know because I just tried it and left out the date of birth). If you can go somewhere and physically get it I haven't a clue. And I'm guessing you would need to know which town the person lives in...not sure how common this is but in my area the towns are so small so you all use the same zip code, which then becomes your mailing address. So my mailing address does not marry up with the town I live in, yet is the address used by the post office. I have the same town in my mailing address as my prior house, even though it is 3 towns over. So it is public knowledge but it seems like a LOT of work to track down. Unless there is a central list somewhere and even then, how do you know with Jane Smith you are looking for?? I frequently check property ownership. The site I use has recently started including information on the occupants, including ages and political affiliations.

They need to wash, and the prayers themselves involve different bodily positions.

Also, Muslim prayer times may differ during the year. Prayer time is based upon the position of the sun. Two of the five required prayer times will usually fall within a 9-5 work schedule (early afternoon (Dhuhr) and late afternoon (Asr). Maghrib – the sunset prayer, may be a third time prayer is required during the winter work day.

As far as I can tell, the people seen with prayer rugs (I'm assuming they aren't fancy yoga mats) don't seem to do any ritual abolutions before or after leaving the "multi use room". And they are generally in the multi use room for, I'd guesstimate 5 minutes (the time I had to wait in line... I saw the guy just stepping in, so I headed over to the bathroom for a 'comfort break' and by the time I got back to wait - I didn't even have time to unlock my phone before he came out. ADDED: maybe there's a shortened version of the ritual washing that lets you get away with not having a sink/tub and towels and what not. God gives all sorts of special dispensations (I grew up Catholic. When I was in girl scouts our troop had a weekend "camping trip' and we all got special dispensed so we didn't incurr a Mortal Sin (that would send us all straight to Hell if we had died in an unfortunate bus accident on the ride home on Sunday afternoon.) Religion is pretty silly sometimes. but then I'm an atheist so I'm probably just missing something.

I find it interesting to what degree "professional" means leaving your humanness at the front door of your work place.

I absolutely understand where Pence and MT, old boss were coming from. me too, but I consider it utterly cowardly. if a man's reputation is so weak that it can't withstand a scofflaw, he has no business leading.
The hard thing is that it is very had to disprove an untrue accusation. It comes down to he said/she said and right now it seems that the accused has to prove the accuser is lying. I would prefer to NOT be in that situation. If an accuser had to prove her/his claim that would be one thing, but that is not the case anymore.

I'm going to start my own religion that says its a sin to work in an office building. That way I will get to work from home while all my colleagues still have to go into the office!

Heck, just work on having your employer hire more of them thar Millennials.... even my stodgie, super conservative Corporate Employer had to finally suck it up and allow "jeans" on Fridays and had to implement a "work from home" policy due to being unable to attract employees to the "dark side" of corporate professions. I'm not hating on the Millennials so much these days.

No, they have to ritually wash their face, hands and feet before prayer. Their God won't listen to them if they are dirty?? IDK, They aren't alone in weird beliefs about what God wants or doesn't want. The Catholic God will send you to straight to Hell if you miss Mass on Sunday and die before you can confess the sin! You could lead a good and holy life - but miss that Sunday Mass and get hit by a bus before you can confess and you are screwed. I had that old school Catholic upbringing. So, things may be different today. A friend also had a similar upbringing and somewhere in our twenties and I had to console her thru an existential dilemma when she realized she might not be in Heaven with her beloved relatives after everyone was dead (as in what if her brothers and her dad didn't get into heaven!! and she and mom were there?? What if God BLAMED HER for not getting her bros and dad to be more holy and so cut her out of heave??) . The was no hope for unbaptized babies (Old School Catholic!) either. I think they changed the rules.... cause I grew up with the weird sadness of a still born older bro who apparently everyone thought went to Hell.... damn that Original Sin!!!) Religions got some weird beliefs (or the god they represent is kind of an asshole....)

Glass offices will guard against any accusations of physical contact. Plus, they are better for sunlight to shine through on everybody.

The only way to avoid that is to not have ANY two people alone together. Seems ridiculous. Hundreds of millions of people go to work every day for a career and never get accused. It seems expensive to hire a babysitter for every meeting.

I confessed some 6-year-old transgressions. As I attended a Catholic grammar school, each Friday we went to mass during school hours. But the day before on Thursdays, we as a school went to confession. I asked my nun teacher what if I did nothing wrong during the past week-do I still need to go to confession? The nun replied "Make something up." I then knew religion was pretty much a scam.

I ran screaming into the night from that church the minute I graduated from Jesuit prep school. My mom never forgave me but died before certain realities of the organization became public.

I almost exclusively confessed to two sins: I stole a cookie (didn't happen since there were never enough cookies to steal them) and I lied → one hundred percent true based on the cookie lie

You know DJ, I am one that would stay clear of anything that could appear to be a compromising position. happen to remember the Kavanaugh hearings, Half of the Country convicted Kavanaugh, when there was ZERO evidence that he was involved. I told the I was standing in the store waiting to get checked out when the little girl behind me, said something, (O.C. is hard of hearing) What was that? She said "DON"T Touch ME" whoa, I looked at her mother, I could have punch the mother in the mouth,, All that would have need to happen, would be NO witness, and some one hear that little girl say the same thing,,
I would be handcuff in the back of a police car, while they reviewed the video!

I don't know if he is guilty or not, but I thought his performance and attitude were not becoming and he did not deserve to be a Supreme Court justice. I also would have liked to see a 'real' investigation instead of that bullshit one they did.

Did not know the year, where it happened, or how she got there, How she got back. who she was with, how she heard about the party?? What did they need to investigate?? Her mental issues??
