Hated by the media?
Like having Fox News talk nonstop about your non classy wife, how you aren’t even American and you’re a Muslim?
And yet, Obama managed to get shit done without constantly whining.
And remember how awesome he was singing amazing grace following the Charleston massacre? Not a single mention of how awesome Obama thought he was.

Musician Neil Young is upset again with President Donald Trump for playing his music on Friday during the White House's Mount Rushmore event celebrating Independence Day. "This is NOT ok with me," Young wrote on Twitter Friday, responding to a video of "Rockin' In The Free World" heard blaring at Trump's event. --------------------- "Donald Trump was not authorized to use 'Rockin' In The Free World' in his presidential candidacy announcement," Young's management company said then, noting that the singer was a supporter of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' 2016 campaign. Trump's campaign manager at the time, Corey Lewandowski, told Rolling Stone that the campaign had licensed the song, but would respect Young's wish and not use it again, adding that "Trump is a big fan and likes Neil very much." www.cnn.com/2020/07/04/politics/neil-young-music-trump-mount-rushmore-event/?iid=ob_lockedrail_topeditorial

Just keep tweeting stupid stuff about the pandemic. People who experience it first hand can then evaluate if this is who should be president

It starts with a directive from the one who sits at the Resolute desk in the Oval Office. Top White House aide shares cartoon mocking FauciTop White House aide Dan Scavino publicly mocked Anthony Fauci late Sunday, sharing a cartoon of the top U.S. infectious disease expert depicted as a faucet on social media. Scavino, White House social media director and deputy chief of staff for communications, posted the cartoon with phrases like “schools stay closed this fall,” “indefinite lockdown,” and “no NFL season” spewing from the faucet. In a message accompanying the cartoon, Scavino promised to “publicly” disagree with Fauci while suggesting the top public health official had voiced disagreement “cowardly” through leaks to the media. “Sorry, Dr. Faucet! At least you know if I’m going to disagree with a colleague, such as yourself, it’s done publicly – and not cowardly, behind journalists with leaks,” Scavino wrote. “See you tomorrow!” The cartoon shared by Scavino is signed by conservative political cartoonist Ben Garrison. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a vocal critic of Fauci who has confronted him at Senate hearings on the coronavirus, is also depicted on the side of the faucet, yelling, “shut him off!” Complete article here: Top White House aide shares cartoon mocking Fauci

Of course they're mocking him! As soon as Trump realized more people trusted Dr. Fauci than himself, he had to go!!
Nobody upstages Trump!

When I have a question about a pandemic, I always ask, "What would Chuck Woolery think?" That's what's wrong with my life! I keep asking myself What Would Jimmy Buffett Do. That's a mistake. Jimmy Buffett is actually a talented musician, author, and successful businessman. He also knows when to shut up. You can't rely on a sensible person like that.

I have never understood the idea that because someone is a quick wit and glib conversationalist, a quality actor, good at catching/throwing/shooting/hitting/etc a ball, or writing/singing a song that we should pay any attention to them when they voice political opinions (whether it supports our leanings or not).

This is true. We have various actors trying to tell us what we should be voting for, and I think well who are you anyway?... you have notoriety....... because you make a living pretending to be someone else. I'm an adult..... and capable of making my own decisions, so jog on. As for the science..... I can understand this, and I'm far from stupid....., so I'll get it straight from from the experts. Politicians are politicians, they like to polish over things and push an agenda..... but they aren't Scientists.... and I want the truth.

Certainly they are not worthy of being believed unconditionally, but neither should they be discounted immediately. Any idea, no matter who it comes from, should be evaluated on its own merits. There are some extremely intelligent athletes, actors, musicians, etc. who have much to offer outside their area of talent. There are a lot more who are idiots who deserve to be ridiculed or ignored, which mirrors the general population. The trick is figuring out which ones are worth listening to and which ones are not, just like with anyone else. Unfortunately, most members of the public cannot do that to any great degree, which is why we have such celebrity worship and why we end up with people such as Trump.

I'll give a good "local" example. Larry Fitzgerald, all pro-wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals. Grew up in the Twin Cities, went to Pitt for college. A very diverse and dedicated man. His dad worked for (maybe still a part of) an alternative paper in the Twin Cities. Larry's contribution to the conversation on many topics is appreciated by me and I think he uses his "platform" as a pro-athlete very well.

Why Dan are you so weird to think talking to journalists about your opinion is leaking? I loathe this inaccurate Ben Garrison cartoon, but its like many of his. Fauci is a medical expert not someone in charge of the US or the economy. Even if Ben doesn't like Fauci could you at least try to be somewhat accurate. Shut up and Obey! is just your and other RWers dog whistle. I've get to hear or read anyone not RW use it. Are Dave, Ben and Trump stuck in some time warp back in March or April?

Trump complains Biden and Obama stopped coronavirus testing even though it didn't exist during their administration President Trump is blaming his biggest problem on his favorite enemy.
Trump held a press conference Monday where he was asked to explain why he constantly blames surging COVID-19 case counts on more testing. But he refused to acknowledge there simply are more coronavirus cases and hospitalizations out there now, instead asking why they gathered reporters weren't talking about the COVID-19 failures of the Obama administration. "Biden and Obama stopped their testing," Trump then said, referring to former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden. "I'm sure you don't want to report it," Trump added to the reporter, which is probably true — the new coronavirus hadn't even infected a person until late 2019, well into Trump's presidency. it is precisely how these folks make money. by being the center of attention. so, it shouldn't surprise you or even bother you that they get paid attention to when they say things. it is an unfortunate fact of life.
the REAL problem is that we don't pay AS MUCH attention to those that actually have something important and informed to say. that is a real problem here in the US.
