Exhausting! DD had her home inspection today and the guy took 6 hours to complete it. DD did say he was very thorough and there weren’t very many issues. There were a few minor ones that they will fix once they get in there, but nothing major.
I was was watching the two youngest kids and she thought she’d be back by noon at the latest, but I just got home and it’s almost 5 pm. The baby was really good but the next one is a bundle of energy and I’m so out of practice running after them. The baby wanted nothing to do with me at first even though she sees me almost every day, but warmed up pretty quickly. By the time I left, she was giving me kisses!

Thankfully I had not yet tossed the other sock.

Better than the past two. I am NEVER getting a colonoscopy again! I had a reaction to either the prep or the anesthesia or both and was puking my guts out from 2am yesterday until 9pm last night. Today I am much better, but have a very bad headache that isn't a migraine. I'm assuming it's from dehydration because I was already dehydrated at the hospital and was not able to keep anything down after leaving. Since the stomach seems agreeable I'm pushing a lot of Gatorade this morning, but so far the only solid food I have had since Monday is three slices of dry toast.
I even had to miss taking Carrot to his first day of school. His brother had to take him.

That sounds just miserable. Glad you're feeling a little better today. Thank you. In hindsight I really should have gone into urgent care for fluids yesterday, but it took them so long to get in IV in at the hospital that I was chicken. I also was running a fever of 102 and the discharge papers said to call immediately if my temp went above 101. I called and got a nurse that says, "huh, that's weird. You shouldn't have got a fever from the colonoscopy, maybe you have something else going on at the same time? Just keep pushing fluids".

That sounds terrible. I'm sorry things have been so difficult.
I'm always very dehydrated for my colonoscopies, too. Doing the IV is the hardest part.

Ugh, minnesotapaintlady. Do you have any popsicles, brothy soup or Jello? That might be a small change that would taste a bit better. Best to you.

I had some yogurt a little bit ago and so far so good. My stomach seems ok but I don't have much of an appetite. I mean there's 2 pounds of Peanut Butter M&M's in my desk drawer and I'm not even tempted, so that says a lot. Normally I'd be wolfing those things down.

I don't do well with anesthesia either. I always ask for something to help my stomach.

how's your day going?
Great. It's beautiful out, and I walked, walked, walked for miles. Made friends with lots of dogs, from poodles to pit bulls.

Tummy hurts. I prematurely made the leap to hot dogs and M&M's last night and have been in pain ever since.

We keep a lost sock box in the laundry room, and go through it every month or so to reunite the pairs......unfortunatley there is always a couple of lost souls

No cat pee on the floor this morning. So, that is good.
Either my old cat's kidneys are failing, or the aggressive neighbor cat who has been trying to take our yard as his territory is freaking someone out. We are going to the vet today to investigate one of those.

That will change when winter hits and I start wearing socks daily again. This lonely sock had been waiting for it's match since last winter.

Doing well in spite of Dorian. We haven’t lost power or any trees/limbs, so that’s good. The weathercasters say the winds should drop this afternoon and tomorrow is supposed to be nice.

Have had the heat on the last couple of days. The magical calendar page turn has made it ok. Not really--the temp has been getting down into the 40's at night. This has been one of the crappiest summers I can remember. I feel so cheated, that I'm ready to move South or something. Other than that, stuck at home on my day off since my DH's car is in the shop. Doing a whole lot of not much, though I suppose I should be cleaning. At least I got to sleep in today, which I really, really needed. I've been passing out at 8 p.m. the last couple of days, waking up at 10, then not being able to sleep.

Tummy hurts. I prematurely made the leap to hot dogs and M&M's last night and have been in pain ever since. LOL! I spent 2 days at home with some sort of stomach bug. After not having eaten in 3 days, I went down to the cafeteria at lunch, planning on getting soup and a small salad. I brought back a burger with onion rings into the lab lunchroom. I regretted that purchase. My coworker looked side eyed at me when I brought it up and didn’t say anything until I offered him the rest of my onion rings. I got 2 bites of burger and 2 rings before my stomach rebelled. Not a good choice.

I learned the hard way a few years ago about wise food choices after not having any for awhile.
I was in Dallas for work and had a nasty allergic reaction. I didn't know I was allergic to sulfites at the time. I was mega sick that night and next day. I finally managed some soup that next night.
Day after I order salad like a dumb person and get food poisoning. I now have a strict no raw food the day after any stomach bugs or allergy issues.

My middle student just got done with a unit on Canada and my favorite local restaurant serves Poutine so i took the kids for lunch, and we got our poutine appetizer but then somehow the new waitress didn't enter in the rest of our order, so we sat an hour before someone realized it so we got it to go and they didn't charge us for the entire meal?!
Son and I are going to stay near the airport tonight to make sure he doesn't miss his flight to Japan tomorrow. Feeling a bit anxious about him flying 13 hours to be so far away for 2 weeks, but i'm sure it will be ok. eeek. This parenting thing, its a long term project...

Where do you live? Hell? Yes. Speaking of hell, my cat has a large mass that is likely cancer. How much money would I like to spend to determine what is going on and what we can do about it? My answer: What advice do you have for keeping him comfortable?

Where is he going? Tokyo? Mostly Tokyo, but their research project compares urban and rural and so i know he's going somewhere countryside and also doing an overnight home stay not in Tokyo. He is excited about it. ETA: Tokyo, Kamakura and Ishioka

My answer: What advice do you have for keeping him comfortable? Age of cat and is it causing any problems right now? I had a dog with huge masses for quite a while that didn't seem to affect her at all. Until they did.

I had a dog with huge masses for quite a while that didn't seem to affect her at all. Until they did. My cats with masses, there were many, all got prednisone to keep them comfortable. They all lasted quite a while on it. My biggest issue is piling the cat. One cat refused to be pilled but he would take it by syringe. The rest of them were all dumb and were fine with me shoving it in their mouths. I'm fucked if the 2 I have now ever need meds because they are NOT people-friendly. AT ALL.
