they will just buy more US producers. problem solved. Probably correct. I have not been able to find any documents if they are exporting more pork form the U.S. from the producer they bought a few years ago. Memory serves me it was Smithfield but I may be incorrect on this.

Yes, it was Smithfield.
And BTW, if you are buying center cut ham slices...Smithfield is the REAL thing with a bone...those 'boneless' slices are a bunch of pieces of ham that have been pressed together & then sliced. I prefer mine to be real & not a bunch of pieces glued together. Same is true with several 'boneless' cuts of beef too.
