Democrats don't know that politicizing tragedy is still revolting and offensive to everyday Americans. Sure, "If it bleeds, it leads" is still true with respect to what we'll be talking about in terms of the news cycle, but most people still have some boundaries around how we discuss some events in a civil society. So, why do the Democrats instantly try to leverage the deaths of Americans and use the time of heightened emotion to advance their anti-freedom agenda items?
The answer, in short, is they don't know any better. They're completely out of touch with everyday Americans- to the extent that they understand us, they hate us and think we need to be fixed rather than the problems we face.
What you have to understand from the outside looking in to the Democrat’s parallel universe is that they don’t know that their irrational hatred of Trump isn’t normal.
To Democrats, the Trump presidency is a mistake- an aberration at best, at worst the result of a nefarious plot between Trump and agents of Vladimir Putin”s Russia.
They earnestly believe that Russia wanted to help Trump because Trump is uniquely unfit to serve as President Of The United States. They believe he is peerless in his moral deprivation, mentally unstable, irrational, irrational, and a one man terrorist and threat to the peace and tranquillity of the world including even the earth’s climate.
They’re unwilling to entertain any other possibilities, and they certainly don’t think it could be that a majority of voters in key states simply preferred Trump or at least we’re not inspired by Hillary Clinton.
As such, the Democrats don’t hold any particular articulable opposing political positions, but rather they have a mental disorder. It’s like they’re experiencing a bad acid trip and acting out their hallucinations. As I described the 2020 election to a friend recently- the Democratic Party is in the middle of a heated argument with reality and their aim is to drag the country into it.
They truly think they have the moral high ground to do or say anything to get rid of President Trump.
They honestly cannot understand why anyone supports Trump and since they cannot accept the possibility they’re misreading the situation- that Trump is actually a fairly moderate Republican, down with saving New Deal policies, in favor of tariffs, no threat to gay rights, has presided over a record number of immigrants becoming new citizens and hasn’t deported illegal aliens at nearly the rate his predecessor did, doesn’t mind suggesting price controls for prescription drugs, just to name a few facts— the problem can’t be them- it’s gotta be us.
This condition is what we refer to as Trump Derangement Syndrome.
And Dems are in the late and politically terminal stages of TDS. Nothing they’ve tried has worked and now no claim is too outrageous or extreme and no shriek is to loud or shrill.

Interesting topic from someone that supports profiting$$$ from human tragedies such as hurricanes. I support a business model that, like every other business that works, creates efficiencies for the companies we service by providing them a just-in-time workforce as well as incentivizing the men and women who do the work so that people get the help they need to put their lives back together quickly after a natural disaster or other event triggers insurance coverage. Firefigthers and police wouldn't have jobs if it weren't for fires and crime. But I guess to you, they should work for free because you know- you wouldn't want anyone profiting from human tragedies?

I hope you all are this deluded and irrational throughout the election cycle. I can't wait to see Dems REALLY lose their shit when Trump is re-elected in a landslide. The most fun is going to be when he would have lost the election in the electoral college but the fuckin' idiots that joined the popular vote compact have to give their state's electoral votes to Trump. I can't wait for CA in particular. That's going to be some funny shit right there.

To me, TDS, affects people who belong to the Party of Trump. When President Trump came on stage, those affect with TDS had their man. They can get behind a bully and a liar to say things they have been held back from saying for years! What else could it be, he had no policies during the 2016 election and still haven't heard anything. I expect his base to break out at his next rally singing "how great thou art".

Yea I'm having deja vu moments of the 2018 'landslide' - which turned out to be a landslide all right, but not the predicted right wing landslide.
A Ouija board is probably a more reliable predictor of electoral outcomes - not just from this poster, but for most people who grandly proclaim they know exactly how an election will go, from both sides. This far out from the election, it's nothing but hot air.

the trajectory of this election is precisely the same as 2018 so far. nothing has changed it. least of all Trump.

I am not sure that I would qualify as a "hater", but i didn't pile on. i just mentioned that this election is polling similarly to 2018.
the same people who always pile on piled on. but that is not unusual here. conservatives do it, too. though less frequently.
you are a more solitary lot.

I'm still waiting for that "great" healthcare system that was promised. <crickets> So, where is it, and what does it consist of? They NEVER had a plan, and you know it. Also, who's paying for that wall again? Mexico? Nope, WE are. Just another lie from the current occupant of the WH. And, I'm still waiting for all of those jobs that were supposed to come back here from overseas, and all of the miners who were supposed to go back to work... That doesn't make me a hater. That makes me a voter who's pointing out the lies. Anyone who believes any of his speeches is just asking to be conned. Better to pay attention to his twitter account, although it's often hateful. Speaking of hate...

(Heard this AM that the money we're getting in tariff's from the China trade war are less than the money we're having to pay out to help the soybean farmers stay afloat - MAGA!)

Just standard rebuttal posts to the crazed screed of an extreme rightwing fringe evangelical and the usual inability of the typical Repo-Con to deal with that rebuttal. And then calling us all "haters"! Is this the new national buzzword for Americans simply expressing different opinions?

Believe me, I would LOVE to have a rational, thoughtful conservative party. Unfortunately we have not had one for maybe 40 years. Instead, we are stuck with stupid sh** like the OP, and no "voices of reason" left in the GOP to counter it.

I think that is a slight exaggeration. the GOP has been completely off the rails for about (20) years. I can't really comment on the previous (20) without careful examination, but it seemed to me that they at least believed in Democracy back then.

They really went off the rails in the '90s, but you can go back to the rise of Jerry Falwell's Moral Majority and Reagan's embrace of the Religious Right to see the beginning. That was the late '70s. So yes, I'll stick with the 40-year time frame.

so, yeah, I will say that the GOP has been playing a cynical game since the Civil Rights era: carving off disaffected bigots to form a governing majority. is that what you mean by "completely off the rails"?

Paul great post! And note how the haters all did their pile-on? Hillary hate, name-calling, morals, Russia, profiting from human tragedy, deluded, irrational - all this in only a dozen posts. (No doubt a Lib will count them and point out the lie?)
And Phil? Just in case you missed it (you did) here is a list of Paul's "piling on":
1. Completely out of touch with everyday Americans (they ARE everyday Americans) 2. irrational hatred of trump 3. Dems have a mental disorder (Paul's theory for many years now and not just today) 4. having a bad acid trip 5. They are politicizing tragedy 6. anti-freedom agenda 7. hate Repo-Cons 8. outrageous, extreme, shrill shriekers
Immediately had a lackey follow suit.

I am not sure that I would qualify as a "hater", but i didn't pile on. i just mentioned that this election is polling similarly to 2018.
the same people who always pile on piled on. but that is not unusual here. conservatives do it, too. though less frequently.
you are a more solitary lot.
The 2018 polling was pretty far off.

1. Completely out of touch with everyday Americans (they ARE everyday Americans) - from an email revealed by Wikileaks (quoting John Podesta): "I know she has begun to hate everyday Americans, but I think we should use it once the first time she says I'm running for president because you and everyday Americans need a champion"
2. irrational hatred of trump - no longer credibly deniable - pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/america-is-drowning-in-the-lefts-lies-about-trump/?fbclid=IwAR3RpXOvrbmALCcd9GtZglBIczTAwXXOZM_uzYX4lRhm2-daS4QMClTQXp4

Nice spin bringing cops and firemen in but it doesn’t fly in your $100 sheet of plywood profiteering “business model”. Not even a nice try really, just a continuation of sleazy. Um, you realize we work for the insurance companies? There's a limit to what we can make- we're not storm restoration contractors. We provide cause and origin investigative work and estimates to repair based on a pricing database compiled by monthly surveys of market costs conducted by none other than the insurance industry- more specifically- Verisk-owned Xactimate software.

You mean sleazy profiteers that prey on people during disasters with their $100 plywood.
