I just ran out of address labels. You know, those one's that come with pleas for donations from ASPCA, HSUS, a bunch of Veterans charities, ST. Judes, and who knows what other ones. I've NEVER sent money to these places (or anywhere else). I've had a steady stream of free address labels for the last 23 years (that I've lived at my current address). I haven't gotten a single solicitation for money (snail mail) since the beginning of the year. In May I noticed I was barely getting any mail at all - maybe something in my mailbox 2 or 3 times a week. Yes, most of my bills are 'paperless'. The last time this happened - the Great Recession had just hit (2008/2009) my area. I went about 18 months without any new address labels (and when they started up again there were fewer - so a sheet of 15 or 27 labels and maybe some 'stickers'). I know snail mail is dying... but you'd think they'd still send me pleas for money. hmm, the economy is booming - so maybe the reason I'm no longer worthy of being plied with requests for $$ is because I recently turned 55? I know I'm now officially invisible. Marketers no longer care about me or my money. So, is this a sign that there's something going on with the economy OR is that fact that I'm female and now too old to be marketed to? (Another weirdness was I needed to buy some plain old iodinized salt - and there was none on the shelf at Aldi or Jewel. Where did all the salt go? What does it mean?!? )

I threw out stack and stacks of them after I moved in 2013. I have not received a single packet with my new address. Am I lost?

I still get them from St. Jude. I wish they would just use the money for research. I don't need address stickers... but maybe the address stickers are donated? Probably not.

I still get them from some charity. Maybe two charities. I rarely send anything thru the mail so I probably have sheets and sheets of them. If you want to use my return address I'll send them to you!!
I wish they would stop sending "stuff" in the hopes of getting you to donate. Put that money to the people/animals/causes you are supposedly helping. Have never seen what these little "give outs" cost but think it could be put to better use than labels, throws, tee shirts, etc.
ETA Tiny age has nothing to do with it!!

I've seen a pretty steady downturn in the number I've gotten in the last 10 years. I've just assumed it's because physical mail (letters) is in a massive decline in terms of residential use.

I have several pages left of address labels. I only use a couple a year. I use on-line banking to pay my bills. Birthday and other greetings are sent using social media. I have not written a leter to anyone in years.
I only use address labels for sympathy cards.

I still get them several times a year from AAA trying to sell me their life insurance. I haven't gotten them from St. Jude or the Humane society in years.

I get address labels at least weekly and I don't donate to those places. I get them from St. Jude and several humane society type charities. I have a lifetime's worth of address labels right now.
I will get at least one more sheet this week. I can guarantee it.

I think you may have solved "who sent these?" For me. I get stuff from AAA and I do open it so I can shred the junk. Now if you can figure out where the others came from I will be forever grateful!

I'm still getting them. I must be speshul. I think the last batch came from one of the "save the environment" organizations.

DH still gets them. I have never gotten them at this address, and I've lived here for 15 years!
We bought a stamp with our name/address and just use that. In fact, we love it. It was a groupon deal so really, really cheap.

DH, who died over 2 years ago, just got a bunch from St. Jude's. I threw them out; I'm pretty mellow about dealing with things with DH's name on them but am not sending anyone mail that appears to come from him!
I've got a ton in my name from AAA and a few left from the MS Society (used to do their charity bike rides). I agree with the others that they may have cut back because so few people use snail mail.

AAA has the BEST database in the world. They know when everyone is turning 55 and nail it 100% of the time when sending junk mail.

If you want labels, get your name on the Chesapeake Bay Foundation donation list. I think I got on because I went to a similar fundraiser for the Oyster restoration of the bay, and now I get address labels around once a month. The fundraiser was an all you eat/drink Wine, Beer and Oyster festival, so really the recipient of the funds was almost irrelevant.....

You know, I think my DH got some labels from them before, for absolutely no logical reason. He donated some $$ once to the USOC, because I wanted the sweatshirt they were offering. For tons and tons of solicitations (and various labels) from all over after that.

We have noticed a considerable drop off on mail solicitations too. My problem is we are receiving my deceased brother's solicitation mail more often. He died in 1987, never lived with us, never lived in our present county of residence and we have moved from where we lived when he died, so somehow his name has followed us. Emotionally, it is a downer for me.

I think partly from having to have her mail forwarded/sent to me after she was unable to handle things herself.
Also once a name gets attached to you "online" it takes forever to get it stopped. I had someone's stuff following me forever - same last name. I went on one of the lookup sites and there he was as "possible related to" or something like that.
I kept sending stuff back marked "deceased" and it finally stopped

For tons and tons of solicitations (and various labels) from all over after that. Many charities raise extra money by selling their mailing lists. I doubt they include the most generous donors, but the ones who donate $15 or $20. My Dad has complained that he's getting tons of mail solicitations and I think that's why. I focus on only a few charities and don't seem to get solicitations from any others.

I send cards to some people. I also live at least 5 hours away from my family except my brother is closer. One bill goes snail mail because I refuse to pay a $2 fee to pay the bill online.
DH got tons of charity labels when he moved into the house. I've even used those things to label pantry stuff. He has never donated to any of those places.

When I donate to a charity, I add a note..."Do NOT send me address labels, stuffed animals, stickers, tote bags or anything else. Please use my donation for what it was intended for. Thank you." They usually comply.

They usually comply. I donated to Best Friends Animal Society back when they took the seized pitbulls from Michael Vick. I checked the box for please do not send me crap, save the money. Their address labels and other crap followed me across two states and at least 4 addresses. I don't think I've gotten anything since moving in with DH.
