I haven't been super impressed with Biden. He is coming off as a bumbling idiot. I don't think he will fare well in the general. I don't want another old, white male in the Oval Office. So I'm ok with him coming off this way.

Actually, no. I've seen references to it but I'm not paying close attention. I'll start paying closer attention sometime in 2020. For now, I think of it as chaos and discordant sounds.

'Poor kids are just as smart as white kids' 😖' The difference is that he realized that he had misspoken and corrected it. Trump would have doubled down in an effort to "prove" he never makes a mistake.

The Catholic church says homosexuality is a sin. Does that mean Catholic candidates should not attend church? The protestant faith states homosexuality is a sin too. Should protestant candidates not attend church? Do you attend either a Catholic or protestant church? If you do, shame on you for attending a faith which calls homosexuality a sin. I don't attend church. I don't believe in any higher power.

Shit, for all I know they went there because many in the black community are not quite as receptive to homosexuality as white people, so a political point to be scored. Publicity shills, trying to raise their standing among blacks, imo. Or not. Who knows?

I know a lot of churches that fly the pride flag, have openly gay ministers and do not consider homosexuality any more of a sin than eating a lobster. I also know there are churches which are part of the 'protestant faith' that condemn homosexuality and judge people and are total assholes. And then there are all those in the 'protestant faith' that are somewhat in the middle or quiet about their beliefs either way. There is no one 'protestant faith'. There is not one leader whose doctrine is considered divine - like the Pope and Catholics. Mostly, protestants are anyone who believes Jesus is God and is not Catholic. Although, there are some churches out there that don't even prescribe to that.

They are opposed to states banning gay conversion therapy. linkSame sex marriage? How many Catholic and protestant sects perform same-sex marriage in their churches? Very few.

I don't live in a gay friendly part of the country. Oh there are pockets of gay friendly areas in the South but that doesn't necessarily mean the churches are friendly to them. I am ordained to perform marriages. I got ordained in the event SCOTUS ruled in favor of Obergefell in the Obergefell v. Hodges case. I went through the process to get ordained in the event gay couples were refused by the powers that be to marry them. Others thought like me and were waiting outside city hall for same-sex couples leaving with marriage licenses to marry them. Our county had no problems. But that was not necessarily the case in the rural counties. All was solved shortly after. No problems since.

My hope is one of them will realize the best way to contend with President Trump is to ignore his bullying and force him to state his policies...for instance when he spouts his insults, respond:
Thank you Mr. President, now please explain where you are on health care, I'm sure the American people would like to know before the election.
Thank you Mr.. President, now please explain what you meant during the budget talks when you said "cuts would come later", I'm sure the American people would like to know before the election.
Thank you Mr.. President, now please explain when those middle class tax cuts will be happening that you have been working on since the midterms in 2018, I'm sure the American people are anxious to know.
and on and on.....

none of the Democratic candidates have any momentum right now, except possibly Sanders.
Warren continues to slowly build momentum. she is now solidly in 2nd place. Sanders is just behind her.
Harris continues to lose momentum. she is now a distant 4th. Buttigieg stubbornly holds onto his 7% in 5th.
nobody else has over 2%
if you were to have me guess where this goes, I think it becomes a 3 way race between Biden, Sanders and Warren.

d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/mujbtdyiti/econTabReport.pdfvery interesting poll from the Economist. worst poll result for Biden in 6 weeks. the following candidates GAINED ground: Warren, Sanders, O'Rourke, Gillibrand. the following candidates LOST ground: Biden, Gabbard Warren and Sanders are showing a bit of momentum. Warren is at her best polling level of the campaign. Sanders is at his best polling level since JUNE. Biden is still leading by 13. his lead has been between 11 and 18 points since JUNE. there are still (3) clear tiers- with Biden all alone at 30%, Warren and Sanders at 17-18%, and Buttigeig and Harris in the upper single digits. nobody ELSE has been in the upper single digits since APRIL. what we have generally seen in the last month is the top three candidates rising at the expense of Harris. the gap is not closing. it is hard to imagine a "game changer" before the first primary.
