Of course they will. The "Civil War" (snick) will be long over by then.

color me optimistic on that account.

Biden has quietly regained his "all alone in the lead" standing.
he has polled basically 1/3 in the last SIX surveys, and is now 16% ahead of the 2nd tier.
only white guys have made gains since my last review: Biden, Sanders, Buttigeig and O'Rourke. of those four, Biden BY FAR has the best momentum.
he is going to be tough to beat.

I saw that. I was surprised at how quickly Harris lost ground after the first debate.
I heard some talking heads this AM speculating about why Biden is polling so well with black voters. One (Steele, the former head of the RNC) was speculating that black voters were used to voting for the 'least worst candidate' and at this point, only cared about voting for the person they think would have the best chance to defeat Trump, regardless of color. However, if Harris or Booker won in Iowa, showing that whites would indeed vote for them, they might quickly change candidates.
He pointed out that Obama wasn't doing so great until he won the Iowa primary.
If that's true, I agree with them. Biden looks like the safest bet, and even if progressives are disappointed that Sanders or Warren aren't picked, I don't see very many of them going over to Trump's team.
The safe middle is the best bet to make sure we escape the lunacy, IMHO.
I'm not lucky enough to be able to set sale for safer shores like you - I've got six more years until I can get Medicare, I need to tough it out until then. In theory, I could afford private healthcare insurance, but don't want to pay the astronomical monthly charge.
Too bad Trump never had a chance to roll out his cheap and beautiful healthcare plan. I'm sure he'll get right on that after he's elected.

Maybe Robert Foster is the one who should wear the burka. chastity belt is what I was thinking. Looks like Robert Foster won't need a chastity belt or ever having to be alone with a woman other than his wife. He lost the primary.

I doubt all these strong religious Catholic immigrants will be voting in the 2020 elections.

only long enough to research that issue:
•Latinos support a woman's right to abortion.
74% of Latino registered voters agree that a woman has a right to make her own personal, private decisions about abortion without politicians interfering. •Latinos don't think we should judge other women's decisions.
73% of Latino registered voters agree that we should not judge someone who feels they are not ready to be a parent. 57% strongly agrees with this statement. •Latinos are supportive of close friends and family members choosing abortion.
67% of Latino voters say they would give support to a close friend or family member who had an abortion. 43% say they would provide a lot of support. Only 23% says they would not feel comfortable offering support. •Latinos don't think money should determine access to abortion.
61% agree that the amount of money a woman has or does not have should not determine whether she could have an abortion when she needs one. •Latinos are willing to disagree with church leaders.
68% agree with the statement “even though church leaders take a position against abortion, when it comes to the law, I believe it should remain legal.”

Not sure which company put it out, so take it with a grain of salt, and dj will probably update later this week Biden 31% Sanders like at 15.8% Warren 15.5% Everyone else was not treading water very well in the single digits. The comment was made Harris has fallen with the black democratic vote and it went to Biden. If the poll is accurate, does anyone think it is hilarious how we were told no old white guy would ever be President after Obama because the youth of both parties would never vote another one in office of the Presidency and the chances of the party of hope and change hinges on two geriatric white guys to pull off the hope and change in2020

I think I also posted after a certain age we should not vote any longer.......but tonight I am forgetfull and not sure what the age cut off was I suggested Anyway............since we only have a youth age where you cannot be President, we have to go with just about anyone

I think what the GOP needs to worry about is the number of GOP retirements in the House. So far, 11 aren't running for re-election, four of them from Texas. In 2018, the House lost 23 GOP retirees. Four of them currently getting ready to retire have disagreed with Trump.

Not much chance of winning back the House if they lose more seats to the Dems - incumbents always have an advantage in elections.

If I did hear it, I thought it was a ridiculous statement and dismissed it immediately. There are hundreds of people on TV spouting all kinds of ridiculous opinions. It doesn't mean that a significant number of people agree. So, maybe someone said it - but either they were whack, or there was some nuance and context to the statement that you have not represented.

Republicans are also disadvantaged in years where there is a federal election. 2020 is not shaping up well for them.

If the poll is accurate poll? that is the sum of the polls. that is a LOT of polling. so, yeah, the poll is accurate. Biden is all alone in first. and there is definitely a second AND third tier again. second tier is as mentioned. Buttigieg and Harris are 3rd tier.
Warren and Biden have the momentum right now. it looks like Warren is going to move into 2nd place again. but it is hard to tell. too close to call.

Most of them have been in their 50's, but Teddy, JFK, Bill and Obama were in their 40's, Bush (HW), Ford, Ike and Truman were in their 60s. And Reagan and Trump were 70. If you plotted that, it would be a good looking mountain range. I still would have dismissed anyone who made such a statement. Clearly, old white guys still have power, money and respect. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

I've already given up hope that anyone will beat Trump. I am hoping Kentucky will do the right thing and get rid of Mitch. Maybe a miracle and Dems can take back the Senate and keep the house. Then the next 4 years will just be a big constitutional tug of war.

I thought he came off that way in the recent debates (both of them, imo, although I only watched a little and saw high lights.) I think though that he is not relishing that intramural fight. I think he is holding his fire, and frankly it is not his style. I think when he comes out guns blazing against trump you see him light up- and wake up. Sharp Biden beats stable genius trump, hands down. He gave a very good speech yesterday on overcoming divisions and coming together as Americans. I'm sure someone wrote it for him, but he delivered it with great passion and gravity.
It reminded me what presidents used to sound like.
I would like to return to that.

I worry that many 30 and younger won't vote for Biden. Even if they don't vote for trump and just sit out that could be all it takes.

Yes they were wrong then, and now they are wrong about Trump. They are just saying what pays the bills. Cable news is a travesty.
