ok. I watched it. my reactions:
1) wtf is he talking about with China. he seems to be saying that China sent this virus to us as biological warfare. is that a "thing" in the conservative community, because it is utterly insane. 2) millions of people would have died? no. initially, the estimates were that 50-60k would die. if we had followed the CDC guidelines, that would probably have been the extent of it. nobody ever said "millions". NOBODY. so that is pure crap. 3) cases were falling in Tulsa? no. active cases in OK had tripled in June before his rally. again, flat out lie. 4) highest rated Saturday night speech in FOX history- TRUE. congratulations. 5) virus "under control as much as you can control it"? completely false. 95% of the countries on Earth have better control of COVID19 than the US, including all of the "shithole" ones. 6) read the manuals? read the books? again- crazy talk. wtf is he talking about? 7) his obsession with cases and their relationship to testing is Spinal Tap bizarre. 8) not even sure he understands what systemic racism is.
confession: I got really bored after he spent 5 minutes handing that poor guy charts that Trump didn't understand. he really doesn't seem to get how badly the USA is doing on the virus. and I bet that his fanbase doesn't either.
One minor point. Early on, there was a prediction that 2.2 million would die if we did nothing. Due to the governors who shut things down, and haven’t fully opened, and mask wearing, we won’t get there. Not that trump did anything to help us avoid that scenario i never heard that number, but it makes sense.

Current polling in Wisconsin and PA, two battle ground states that went to Trump at the last minute in 2016, showing both states are polling 6 points ahead for Biden.
When asked if things are better now than before, 75% of the respondents say the country is in a worse position now.
I guess Trump's pollyanna decision to just wait for the virus to disappear was not a good one.

Biden and a few friends went out for a bike ride today just as Trump tweeted about sleepy joe from his luxury golf course.
This has inspired some talking heads to suggest instead of a fourth debate we should have a bike race instead.
I 100 percent would pay a $1000 fee to a charity to see that.

Trump says he might use the Gettysburg’s battleground to make his acceptance speech.
Before we let him do that, I think he needs to be required to answer the following questions without assistance from any humans or electronics:
Name two officers from both sides. Name one year that the civil war was active. Name two civil war battlefields not including Gettysburg, using either the northern or southern names.
If he can’t pass the test, he gets booted to Stone Mt Georgia, where they aren’t too picky about historical facts, either. They would love him there.
I have three distant uncles who fought there, I don’t want want the clown car anywhere near it, unless the head clown proves he has some sliver of understanding about what happened there.

I think he should also have to identify the airports where each side's air support planes took off from and landed.

I would flunk your test, but I was happy to see I was right about 1865 being one of the years of the Civil War. Lots of Washington slept here, danced here, etc. in my area. I think Trump is mentioning Gettysburg as a dog whistle to his Confederate loving supporters. Bad and crappy idea unless he wants us all to remember he started a civil war in the US and divided the country in a way that the election of Obama never did. My guess is he is not looking for me and others to yell out 'Badly done'. Don't blame you for not wanting him near any of your family's history. There are times I really wonder how he thinks. I wouldn't want to tap into the stream of word salad, but it would be interesting to follow a prettied up translated version.

So not sure that battlefield is held near and dear Confederate flag wavers other than their dead.

Well, I could pass, but I still wouldn't desecrate Gettysburg for a political acceptance speech. For the record, off the top of my head was Grant, Sherman, and Meade from the North. Lee and Jackson from the South. A couple more minutes gave me McClellan, Sheridan, Longstreet, and Pickett. The war ran from 1861-1865, and some of the battles were: Antietam, Vicksburg, Shiloh, and Bull Run. Figured four was enough, so stopped there.

Battlefields are not my thing so I would have failed on that. I thought most people would remember Lee, Jackson and Grant, I had forgotten how many generals there were in the union army.

Back in the summer of 2004, my sister and I drove my parents from Massachusetts to South Carolina where they would be put in a skilled nursing center to get them medically stabilized. My brother lived by where they would be residing and would be their caretaker. My mom had Alzheimer's disease. During the ride heading south and in the area of Sharpsburg, MD, we saw signs for Antietam. My whole life I had a hard time pronouncing the name Antietam. So we see the sign for Antietam on the highway and I say outloud how I have a tough time pronouncing Antietam. My mother, pretty much silent the ride up to that point suddenly said "Antietam." Nothing else. Just Antietam. I was impressed and have correctly pronounced it since that time my mother had a lucid moment and heard me.

A survey type class in which the instructor makes statements like "Then there was a war. The US beat the British. So picking up from there ..... "Then there was a war. The Northern states won. So picking up from there ...."

"Then there was a war. The Northern states won. So picking up from there ...." You would like Simon Winders book Germanic. The history of the people in the area that became Germany starting from Roman times. He spends a few chapters explaining the cause and effects on of WWI but stops at the eve of WWII because it’s been done to death and because WWII was so unrepresentative of the regular German citizens.

GA poll just showed Biden plus two.
In Georgia!
I think the shit fest Trump toady governor Kemp made of the Covid mess May be dampening trump’s polling.

yeah, maybe. I wish I could be more optimistic.
the national polling (which is done with greater regularity) shows Biden dropping off slightly. however, if you weight it based on polling quality, the movement is very slight.
he was ahead by about 9.5% around July 4th, and since Trump started his reopening fest, Biden dropped about 2%, but has since regained 1% due to the pushback.
I see a winning path for Trump, but it is getting really narrow. it would involve continuing to play down the virus and hoping that everything went right IN SPITE OF THAT.

deminmaine what is your prognosis on ME2? it is still showing as tossup on my board. There are conflicting data reports, but tossup is a good way to peg it for now, at least officially. However I will say that Maine almost never splits it's vote the way it did in 2016. The cities are going to go for Biden, and I am guessing they will by a margin to do the trick. We'll see!

Meanwhile, trump said today that some men are insulted Biden would only consider a female running mate. Trump keeps putting his fat foot in his mouth he’ll lose for sure.

I had that speech memorized, then. I still know most of it.
