There have been some commentators recently who have predicted that, should Trump lose in 2020, either to a Dem or to another GOPer, he won't go 'quietly' and might try to cause a coup to retain power.
At first I scoffed, but after all his weekend tweets, and his statements like this one to Breitbart, plus his insistence that he's wildly popular (when he isn't) I'm wondering if he's living in an alternative reality where he's incredibly popular and the nation is eager to throw aside our constitution and follow him into a benevolent Trump dictatorship. All he needs to do is call on all the 'tough people' who are willing to be very bad, very bad for him.
I hope I'm wrong. I hope when he's finally run out of office, the GOP admin members will do a very good thing for the nation and make sure he goes, so we can do our normal peaceful transition of power.
Should trump lose the 2020 election (if he makes it that far), I expect to see trump removed from the White House, kicking and screaming, while sitting in his gilt high chair. That's what I'm afraid of. There will be a certain percentage of dedicated FOX viewers that attempt some stupid shit, if he does.
All the times we've had transitions of power in the POTUS office, it would be a shame if Trump screwed that record up.
Of course, he's screwed up a bunch of other solemn traditions of the office and shit on the constitution, so it wouldn't be surprising.

1) It was one of many things I listed as examples because 2) It was in response to you (see reply #52) not realizing what the government does (getting stuff done) and what the phrase "out of the loop" means. Trade was never my main, only, or biggest point.

Donald Trump deletes Breitbart tweet about how 'tough' his supporters can get [After the New Zealand shooting] In his chat with the Breitbart News Network, Trump said: "I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad." The GOP also said the about Obama. I still don't think he will stay. He will tweet wildly about the conspiracy that removed him, but he will go.

I sincerely believe that President Trump was the big fuck you to liberals. His base, the low information voters, had stuffed down their gut 8 years of President Obama. How excited they were to have a bully like President Trump to say what they wanted too. That is all..... he had no policies to speak of during the campaign. No normal person can defend his actions during the campaign and after, he surely doesn't represent any dignity and integrity that the USA stands for. His tweets last weekend shows he has no clue what MAGA even means. Sure he did! He was going to repeal and replace Obamacare, and replace it with something tremendous!" Then it was "Who knew healthcare could be so hard?" Everybody knew, you dumbass! Everyone but you.

Looks like they were stealing to me Yes, it's totally possible Trump is as pure as the driven snow, but has had the misfortune of hanging around unscrupulous people who perform illegal acts that Trump knows nothing about.
Possible but not likely - birds of a feather, you know. But I'll grant you, there is a possibility it's true.
Now grant me the possibility that it's NOT true, that the SDNY investigation or Mueller investigation determine Trump was directly involved with something manifestly illegal - like having his company overcharge the inaugural committee for goods and services in order to siphon off a big chunk of inaugural donations into his own personal bank account.
Are you going to be the kind of Trump lover that could witness Trump having sex with a sheep on the White House lawn and shrug and call him an animal lover? Or the kind of Trump lover who will shrug and say illegal double dealing is just something all great businessmen do? Or could you bring yourself to admit that Trump is just as corrupt and sleazy as all his buddies who have already been indicted or convicted of illegal acts?
I'm all for calling him crook as long as the evidence proves it in a court of law. Presumption of innocence you know all the pesky rights stuff You really should remember what you type elsewhere. It will trip you up every time.

We could be the next Venezuela - two presidents, and a mess in our hands. It was just a joke. If you get a second, Google the current power outage that's been happening in Venezuela. Just about the whole country has been without power for a week. No running water in the cities etc.

It was a joke about the "he's an Arkansas hillbilly" meme that was going around at the time.

Stereotypes really can't do stupid shit. They're stereotypes. Unless they're protecting themselves from NBC viewers. In a stereotypical kind of way.

Trump is now refusing to release documents to the House Oversight Committee and ignoring the Judiciary Committee's requests. He is completely crapping all over our constitutional checks and balances. But I'm sure the repubs in here are just fine with that. I don't think any of you actually care about the constitution at all....just about getting your way.

The abortion arc has been moved to the Inferno. You guys know where these discussions go. That's where they are to be placed. They are not to occur in ongoing and unrelated threads.

Check your PMs. I've never been there. Isn't that where threads go to die? Nah. Virgil set it up so there would be a place where abortion could be discussed. I'll PM you the password.

Perpetuating the idea that abortion is murdering of viable, born infants is part of the problem. The posts you moved were about theoretical murder. Not abortion.

so only 1 conservative here had an actual line that could be crossed. I think that shows just how many are willing to OD on the kool aid even if it means they all moral positions they once held. Nothing is off limits as long as they feel like they "won". Nothing is so morally repugnant that they would denounce it. And we can add the silence of those who like to do the most lecturing about upholding morals and standards. Apparently none of them could think of a line that could be crossed either.

Or people took your post for what it was an just ignored it. I was going to ignore it but in the end decided to play along. Just because people ignore you doesn’t mean they have no moral boundary. Do I care who trump sleeps with? Nope. Do I care if Melanie posed nice? Nope. What I do care about are the policies I voted for and against. If he decides to support the policies I’m 100% against I will vote against him. Simple as that
