Major candidates listed from this site in order listed. Cory Booker, Senator Pete Buttigeig, Mayor of South Bend Indiana (I do not consider him a major candidate, but they have him in this list) Julian Castro former HUD Secretary from Texas John Delaney, former House member Tulsi Gabbard, house Rep from Hawaii Kristen Gillibrand, Senator NY Kamala Harris, Senator California Amy Klobucher, Senator Minnesota Bernie Sanders, Senator Vermont Elizabeth Warren, Senator Massachusetts Jay Inslee Governor, Washington state John Hickenlooper, former Governor of Coloarado Other considered "second tier candidates" Michael Arth, ArtistHarry Braun, Consultant Ken Nwadike Jr, documentary film maker Robbie Wells, former football coach Marriane Williamson, Author, spiritual teacher Andrew Yang, Entrepeneur (imo, he belongs in the upper echelon group over two that are there) This is the current list from the Democratic site. I thought there were others, but they must not have officially announced as of yesterday. Does anyone have a person that is missed at this time? If so, list the person and a link with their announcement to run. I thought Julian Castro's brother was one that also announced, but he is not listed. Lets add to the list, Mike Gravel Tim Ryan I like Gravel.

I knew we would get to a point where I only had a few comments about those running. Who? Which one is that guy again? And ugh, really?
I said early in the process I will just wait until a dozen or so people fall out, and then learn who the remaining people are.

He is too esoteric for the general population, but I love to listen to him talk. He is challenging the whole basis for our society.

I did not recognize him, name wise. I will correct that.

I think that a lot of these are third tier candidates. they will never get past single digits in polling.

Just where was she in the ranking before she made this statement. This statement actually sets her apart fronm all the canidates. I also think she has been watching Fox panelists last week because they all said if a democratic candidate wants to break out from the pack, they should tell Democrats to do exactly what she told Fox

I don't know thing one about her, for the record.

We have several members on here who have identified as Independent in the past that are now going strong for Democrats- or rather for someone who will defeat Trump. I would bet most or all of them do not consider their political views to have changed. I know this is just a small group of people, but I believe this is also a larger trend. I know we saw it statewide here in Maine in the mid terms. I think Trump was right when he said he is F-d. There are 14 gazillion Democrats and one Republican running against Trump now, but in the end all of these people will coalesce around the winner. Mr. Trump? Buh-bye, LOSER. large fields typically produce winning candidates. witness 2016.

Not all the dems are eager to try to impeach.
As one Dem explained it, if Dems do try to impeach, it will get stopped by the Senate, probably right about when the 2020 election takes place, allowing Trump to campaign on his being a 'totally vindicated winner.' Unfortunately, enough of our citizens are lacking enough in their understanding of our political system to think he was right.
I think the Dems are better off campaigning on what Trump promised and failed to deliver, and on the risks to medicare, SSI, and the ADA should he get another 4 years of chances to sabotage the country.

Then he went back to his usual hate tweets against CNN, MSNBC, various personal enemies, people who used to work for him that he thought was great until he needed a scapegoat and threw them under the bus, etc.

this was an interesting tidbit to wake up to this morning. linkpersonally, I'm of the opinion that if you've served your time and are released, THAT is when you have paid your debt to society. not while you are in the process of doing so. using Tsarnaev as an example here, he's never getting released - so his debt to society will never fully be paid. I thought he was a little out there before, but this is a new one.

Wish it were his failure to let go of attempting to build the wall and declaring the national emergency which would be the issue for him.

"""I think the Dems are better off campaigning on what Trump promised and failed to deliver,"""
OTOH, most of those 'failures' are perceived to be a direct result of Dem obstructionism and lack of useful bipartisan inputs - so they could help to solidify Trump's base?

Cmon, you cannot believe that one. Deficit is legit. Failure to build the wall is on my list. Failure to stop the flow of illegals is even larger on my list. Democrats say we do need a wall, and it is all in our racist minds, so if true, he has not stopped the invasion and that is on him. So, in this conservative's view Trump is only 1 for 3. Since he cut taxes I peg him at 2 for 4. Considering he had to deal with phatom collusion charges, I put him at batting about 750 right now. That makes him my choice at this time.

... could help to solidify Trump's base? FWIW, a group of people are identified as a "base" for the specific reason that they are already solidified.

Now how about once you have a "base" do you just defend it to keep the status quo, or do you expand it? Trump has to expand it to be re-elected. Hey, we are getting off base here. This is the official 2020 Democratic Presidential primary go round! Then again if democrats only discuss Trump, he wins bigly in 2020. Carry on!
