I missed being a baby boomer by 3 years. I'm a non labeled person who will fuckin' take of myself! Every generation thinks the other generation sucks. And round and round it goes like a - never mind I was about to break out in song from The Thomas Crowne Affair - original movie. Never saw the retread! I know its a winky, but I really don't think much about generations unless some poster goes off whining or praising one. Same here. I just get a kick out of some of the post. I figure some of the whiners are going to worry themselves into an early grave anyway so all the whining is for naught

The baby boomers can suck it. They are the worst generation. hey now. no blanket statements, please (though you may be right).

Typical boomer - deny, deflect, blame your parents, blame the establishment, etc. 😘 typical X'er. making blanket generalization and demonizing an entire generation.
(see how fun that is?)
you will note that I didn't shirk responsibility. so.....wrong again.
edit: I will also add this- i have contributed far more to the welfare of others here in the US than they will ever contribute to mine. are all X'ers as selfish as you?
note: if this conversation seems to have turned a dark corner, don't sweat it. i am not pissed. i get your attitude, really. i feel the same way about "the greatest generation" folks that ushered in neo-conservatism. you know....like your parents (and mine)?

WW2. Babies born during the Vietnam War are Gen X (late 60's / early 70's). That's me! Doesn't that make you a baby boomer? 1946-1964 ......or were you born during the war? My parents are war, I'm X.

I'm with opt4 I really find the inter-generational blame game to be stupid and boring. And a little whiny. Sort of like the blame my parents game. I know we are mostly tongue in cheek here, but, suck it up buttercup! There were Greatest Generation deadbeats. Baby Boom hippies who stayed true (and straight arrows who were too) Gen Xers with Y chromosomes. Millenials who didn't fly on the Falcon. In fact my biggest complaint about the generational game is the gross over-generalization, sort of like those Chinese horoscopes. I'm a baby boomer, but I was born in 1960. The focus on that generation is the kids born from 1946-1950 - the true post war boom. Most of what was written about them back in the day didn't even apply to me. I was NOT buying a Volkswagen Beetle, putting flowers in my hair or moving to San Francisco in 1967. Heck, I'm still trying to figure out what I am in the generational game!! I do remember someone in the registration office at college saying "oh, you're going to school on the war orphans act"

I wasn't old enough to go to Woodstock (not that my Dad wouldn't have kicked me out of the house if I'd gone). I missed all the fun!

And of course all the drug use at Woodstock made the news. So at dinner several weeks after Woodstock ended, the vegetable dish mom made for supper was asparagus. Mom asked my brother in a face if he wanted some "Aspara-grass."
