How petty is that! Karma will get her! We have a vague idea of what came from where but specifics would be nice. They started in the MB closet and worked their way out, so #1 starts there and by the time you get to the garage it's in the 600s. As in, 600 boxes?

I'm hoping they just changed the starting number by area (closet/MB, living/dining) but I can't think of 6 separate areas because I just listed them aside from the garage. I know we did 20 boxes on Friday when I was there, and that was barely a dent but, please just go with my delusion that there really aren't 600 boxes, would ya?

I have a book I borrowed from the library that I doubt I can finish before it must be returned. Someone here was downloading e-books and audio books once before they went on vacay. How might I save the book to my computer or my I-phone? Does anyone know? It is in the Kindle Format.
Currently I am listening to Let it Go by Peter Walsh. He recommends that decluttering/downsizing be done with your partner/those that live in your household. I have a TV in the bedroom that has not been plugged in since it was stored there (old Plasma, very heavy need DH and DS to move it), An exercise bike in the workroom and my Empty China Cabinet in the dining room that DH refuses to get rid of. I really need to get him to agree to declutter/downsize- but I doubt I can get him to take the time to read or listen to the book. Is this available on Netflix or some such show?
The last thing he said before I got to work was sort like things together. I realized the other day that I had extension cords in 3 places in the garage - I was thinking about moving them all together, and now I am going to do it. Also, I will make sure all the tools are together, all the lawn chemicals are together (they are for the most part, but there are a few stragglers and my shelf is full) My remedy for that is going to be to fertilize my plants, spray weed killer on the patio, put the bug spray around the foundation etc.. I also know I want to pull out all my bag chairs and get rid of the ones that are not in really good shape so I can pare them down. My DH is a hoarder - I sent two brand new ones (I had five!) to DS and his GF when they moved into their house last month, but DH would not let me send 3 - which was ridiculous b/c DH hates them b/c he says they are too big. I think there are two circular saws in the garage too, and I will move all the screws and nails etc. together. I can do that without DH being around, then I can make him pare down to the best of what he has.
I did not do much last night - I did a bit of shredding, but my shredder keeps overheating. I got tied up on the computer b/c I got a code to reset my apple care, but I did not request a code so I got bogged down into that. There was an I-phone 5 connected to my apple account - which we don't have any phones that old. I changed my Apple Care PW. Apple told me to contact Sprint and have the sim card deactivated, but they said that would mess up my phone, they wanted me to change my cell phone number. I don't know if I want to do that. I have 2 factor identification on G-Mail and Sprint and Apple Care, but who knows what the fraudsters might do - but all my friends and relatives and Dr's etc etc, would have to get my new phone. I talked to DD about it and she did not think it was worth it. Then when I was poking around in Apple Care, I found that someone from Finland had tried to connect to apple care in March. I don't know what I am going to do about it.

bean29 , glad you were able to rid of 2 chairs! And I hear you about the hoarding DH. Mine does okay in most departments, but he is a self-proclaimed "sentimental bastard" and keeps way too much. It's contained in his man cave, though, so it doesn't bother me. The outside pile of random stuff in view from the bedroom window, however.... ~~~~~~~~~~ Did a impromptu inventory of my clothing last night. Just on the shelves and rods, not the off season, dresser and other boxed items: 20 or so short sleeve work shirts 2 long sleeve folded shirts 6 or so long sleeve hanging work shirts
2 sweatshirts, 1 sweater
Several stacks of casual weekend t-shirts 10 skirts of varying lengths and textures 4 pairs of pants which fit, 1 that almost does... 3 capris 2 jeans Random things like a poncho from Mexico, a long vest, 2 bathrobes, wedding dress, designer dress, leather skirt, sequined skirt... A shelf of work out gear A shelf of camping wear such as camo pants, long johns, etc. ETA: 5 blazers and a jean jacket
Things are getting fairly streamlined, which I like. It helps simplify the morning work routine. The hall closet contains 3 flannel shirts of varying weight, a zippered sweatshirt, 2 leather jackets, and my winter coat

He also has a habit of purging old white T-shirts to the bedroom floor - where I have no way of knowing if he purged them, or if they are dirty laundry. 1) I asked him to please throw them in the garbage and 2) I realized I just bought him 2 packages of new T-shirts, so if they are looking old and stretched out, I am tossing them myself.
I am just going to keep going on organizing...and putting like things together, then I will have a come to Jesus talk with DH, and get DS to come over and load the stuff we are getting rid of onto the Truck. I just needed a little push in the right direction. I would like to get rid of the bike though, b/c like the Tourneau cover in the garage, it is keeping me from getting at other stuff. Maybe I will get DS over to do a few things to help me move on. The Torneau cover - DH gave the Truck it went with to my BIL and left the cover in the garage. I called BIL and offered it to him. He wants it. I tell DH, he says well of course he does - I was going to try to get $100 for it. It has been in the same spot in the garage for YEARS! DH only had it on the truck for short time. I told DH well I would be willing to pay a few hundred $$ to be able to park in my garage. So I think DH is willing to give it up, we just have to co-ordinate it. The how much would you pay/give up to park in your garage was one of the things Peter Walsh said - and I thought - that is exactly what I have been saying!

LOL! When I first moved in w/ DH, I told him I couldn't wash his socks/whatever if they didn't make it into the laundry hamper. (I refused, and still refuse, to pick up after him.) Now it's easy because we have a laundry chute inside the master bedroom closet. He does okay at donating his old t-shirts to the rag pile when appropriate. Good for you for tossing them yourself!

He kind of likes to do his own wash - so it is not that he expects me to wash his clothes. He always does his own ironing too. I would prefer he used the hamper, but right now, we are mid- mini remodel and I don't have a spot for a hamper until he is done re-installing the sink. I will pull socks and regular T-shirts to wash with my clothing, but I avoid golf shirts with a collar and his jeans, b/c he claims I dry them on the wrong temperature.

That Marie Kondo show is on Netflix. That's something similar. I'm not sure if there are any old episodes of Clean Sweep (his old show) on youtube or any of the other streaming channels.

We had Netflix until last week. DD got a notice there was fraud, and she decided she was the only one using it. She didn’t have my CC info available so she closed it $ decided to reopen it later. Then, I decided the Bridgertons by Julia Quinn and the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr were coming to Netflix, so I wanted it back, and apparently DS asked for it too.
I kind of knew Marie Kondo was there. I will see if he will watch an episode or two.

Not sure if this still works or depends on which Kindle you have, but I used to keep my Kindle in airplane mode until I could finish an overdue library book. Without being able to connect to my online account, the Kindle didn't know my book loan had expired and would let me continue reading.

BTW, hello everybody! I have been MIA for a couple years, but still drop in occasionally to see/read how you all are doing, and for inspiration. While on vacation last week, I caught up on all 95 pages from this year. You all are still amazing! ☺ I plan to post an update soon, but just wanted to pop on now to reply to bean.

Second showing this week so about to go to the coffee shop for an hour or so. Yesterday I had 30 min notice and really had to rally, today I’ve kept things pretty clean and had more notice so I steamed the floors.
I really need to string trim the backyard and caulk the baseboards in the master bath tonight, I keep thinking I’ll have time and then a showing pops up.
Next week is our county fair and I’ve been interested to hear how many people around town will attend as usual and who is skipping due to fears of a shooting. I did have to buy a few things at Walmart last night and was more aware and on edge than usual.
I dropped off two loads of stuff at goodwill this week and need to write it all out so I can update my total.

All of my family appears to be going to the State Fair as usual. They have more security in place than usual.
Tomorrow's decluttering plan is to get through one of the boxes that DN3 brought up from the basement. I'm guessing most will be trashed.
I also want to have items ready to go to Goodwill on Tuesday when I have to go to town.

While our town hosts the county fair it’s free to get in and there’s typically no security at the gates. There’s been minor trouble related to gangs in years past but people are more nervous this year.
I will probably go Wednesday or Thursday afternoon when it’s less crowded and not as hot. It costs a whole $5 to park but the indoor buildings have air conditioning so it’s not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

I decluttered 20 items from our garage this past week. It's finally "clean". I use that term loosely because it's still a mess as far as organization goes. But until we use up our construction supplies, I can't really do much more in there. It looks a million times better now though.
Purge count: 973/2,019 items for the year.
I also sold $23 worth of baby clothes on FB tonight. I had already counted these items in a purge, so while they don't change my number, they did fill my wallet and empty out half of my remaining baby items!

The State Fair has problems late at night on the weekends. Too many drunks by then. It also depends who is playing at the Grandstand how many problems they have, but it's been like that since I was a kid.
Many, many of my family members camp for the entire fair and are already there.
My sister is going on Sunday and again another day next week. I have not been in years but I am told most of the buildings are now air conditioned and the bathrooms are relatively clean for as many people as are going through the buildings.

Tomorrow is the first phase of my move to the Midwest and I'm taking all the things that I'll need for the 6-8 months that I'll be in Iowa but don't need right now i.e. most of my "nice" clothes and all my cold weather stuff. That'll get quite a bit out of the house but you can't really tell because it was in closets and dressers. I'm having surgery in two weeks and then many weeks downtime so the indoor yard sale won't be until early October. Then, all this crap will be up for grabs for modest prices. It's interesting how people, today, seem to expect to pay the same prices at yard sales as was paid at yard sales 35 years ago. Like, goodness forbid a blouse cost more than $1 at a yard sale.

Went through 3 of the boxes in the garage! I'm proud of myself.
There is one bag of stuff in the trash bin and a box in the back of the car to go to Goodwill on Tuesday. I added what is in the trash to my count, but no Goodwill until it's out of the car.
I did find some of my sentimental stuff that I've been wondering about for all these years, so it's back inside. I've got some books I think will sell on eBay. I've got some CDs to burn to the computer to save and trash the physical copy.
I was to have a repeat colonoscopy 3 years after the one I had in November 2016. I can't get in until January 21. Glad I called as I had a slow growing type of pre-cancerous tumor (not polyp) that takes about 4 years to become cancerous. Sister is giving me BS about what if it snows. I've sent a text to niece as it has to be done on January 21. She gets a day off every week so hopefully she can schedule it for that day. Last school year she had Tuesday off. January 21 is a Tuesday if that is still her schedule.

I shredded a few documents in my garage last night until my shredder quit, then went inside and gathered up some stuff I had purchased for DD's trip last month. she never came home before the trip, so I decided to return it all. Just after I put it all in a bag to return, she walked in the door. She came home for her stickers for her car registration. So, I handed the bag and asked her if she wanted any of it. She went through it, and decided to keep one item. We were talking in her bedroom (DBF was in the car on a 1 hour conference call), so I started pulling hangers from her closet and asking her keep/get rid of. We ended up with about a kitchen garbage bag of items. I then went through it, and pulled the better clothing for the neighbor girl who is In HS. When I ran it over to her Mom, she was very happy. She said her daughter K had much appreciated the last bag of clothing I took over from DD. Before she left DD and I looked at the suitcases I have in the basement, and she said they are now too big for the new carry on rules. I am sending the largest one to goodwill, and keeping the smallest one (which I might have donated before realizing that my other two old "carry on" bags are no longer carry on bags.
I have conflicting priorities this weekend. Filing and proceeding on purging stuff from my garage. I have decided my purging plans are not big enough - the goal should be 3 cars in the garage. This will probably necessitate DH getting rid of 1-2 grills, possibly his rider which he does not use, and he will need to have the moulding which is hanging on the side of the garage installed so that we can use the track it is hanging on to store tools/wheelbarrow etc.
Eta: I returned the stuff DD rejected on my lunch hour. I will have one more return to do next week. Impulse buy, where I am trying to acquire a multi purpose backpack, I bought a few items from Vera Bradley, (They had a if you spend this much $ you get a freebie offer, the freebie is not of much value to me, and I bought more than I should have) and now I ordered some stuff fairly reasonably from Eddie Bauer that I think might work better. I decided I don't want to buy stuff only to store in in my basement for a future use. Waiting to compare physical items before I decide.

Which is exactly why I would rather donate my stuff that sit in my garage on a Saturday Afternoon. I gave my neighbor a bag of stuff yesterday. Her family watched my dogs when we went to a wedding last month. They refused $$. The value of the dog sitting is probably more that what I would have made in a yard sale. Conversely, she mentioned having recently been to Plato's Closet shopping. DD has sold stuff there and come home with more than she would make at a yard sale, but she says they reject so much, she does not think it is worth it either.

Still to do:
*Finish one craft project from this summer's retreat -- slowly working on it -- has over 30 individual items to hand sew on. Doing a few at a time. (Down from @45)*Repair earrings -- 1 pair repaired 1 pair left to finish.*Reschedule handyman -- had conflict this week He just left. He located the problem but I need to schedule a plumber for total fix. He will return to repair sheetrock, etc once the leak is fixed. This repair from plumber will be $$$$. *Photos for Etsy taken a few still need to upload and put on sale.*Make three pairs of new earring design *Finish box #2 -- Working on it.*File the pile did it once and will do again this coming week.*Add more items to the donation box -- ongoing item. Added a few, trashed a few and picked out a few to give away.

Today while my handyman was trying to solve the problem leak I managed to Roomba two rooms, cleaned and reorganized my craft room, fixed one pair of earrings for a friend from church and paid a few bills. To Do List:
*Meeting -- Saturday *Fund Raiser -- Saturday *Plumber -- Monday *Bank -- CD Renewal *Post Office -- Doctor Bill *Finish one craft project from this summer's retreat -- a few stitches at a time. *Repair earrings *Upload photos for Etsy and write description *Make three pairs of new earring design *Finish box #2 (beginning to see the ending of this one) *File the pile *Add more items to the donation box -- ongoing item.

Took an impromptu "me day" from work yesterday. Slept in, drank coffee on the upper deck while listening to and watching birds, had a mini spa including fingernails, pedicure and face mask, did cardio and hand weights, and watched a few DVR programs. It was a nice day.

I worked on a bunch of fabric pieces for quilt #2 last night and laid them out and I’m SO CLOSE to having it done. I am adding 7 rows to the bottom and then I’ll see how many columns I want to add (3-4 max) before adding the rest of the borders. I would like to quilt this one before I move on my mom’s machine so working on it when I can.
This is the first weekend in 3 weeks without an Open house so it’s been nice to relax and get out the projects I need to work on.
Today I’ll finish caulking the trim in the master bath and then when it’s all dry I will paint. I should continue to pack in the garage as I have my tools hanging on the pegboard to go through and a bunch of car stuff on the shelves. I’ve been slowly recycling old wood scraps and might try to work on the window box I’ve had on my to do list forever. Thankfully it’s a cool weekend and the next 10 days we should not climb above 100!

Been through more stuff from the boxes in the garage. An entire box of paper from 2002 is in the trash bin as the box got wet and I'm not opening it. That was the year I did a lot of selling on eBay and the box is marked eBay paperwork. Way past the statute of limitations for taxes.
Also brought up a plastic tote of Christmas decorations and went through those. 99% are now in a box in the car to go to Goodwill on Tuesday. I kept place mats my sister made. A Christmas tree that still lights up is also in the car to go on Tuesday.
I'm returning an item I bought from Amazon that day, too, as it's the wrong size.
Cleaned off my laptop desk, so some recycling, shredding and trash there.
I brought the non-working computer out of the office and will get the hard drive out of it so I can recycle it on Tuesday. I didn't do much on it, but I don't like taking chances.
Also did 2 loads of laundry this morning. More of that to do tomorrow.
