I know we had a thread similar to this before, but I decided at almost 1/2 century old I want a tattoo. I went in yesterday and made an appointment for my first one ever. Going to be quite nervous about it all week, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do so I just jumped in.
It won’t be anything elaborate, like a full lion tattoo on my back, just a simple word/symbol on my forearm. I guess this means Tractors age of innocence is coming to an end 🙂

I love mine. Part of me. Just two relatively small ones.
Lol though I first read JUST a full lion tattoo on my back... did a double take.

Freaked everyone out when I got back home and they thought it was real. I was 64 at the time and had no desire for a permanent one. Don't remember how long it lasted. But it was "fun" having one without the needle/permanent part.

Needles don’t bother me, I often ask to help when they draw my blood 🙂. And I literally laugh at pain (I giggle like a school girl as I’m really ticklish).

I have 12 of them and love them all. I want to get more, but have no idea what I want to get.

I plan on getting one on the inside of my right arm for my 35th birthday. I chose an elephant because of the mantra I use to lower my anxiety.

... On the inside of my left forearm. Not far enough down so my watch won’t cover it it. My first one is a design I had specially developed by a guy I found initially on the Internet. I was impressed with his portfolio. It is on my wrist and is fully covered by a watch when I wish to not have it show.

I am actually getting my first ones next week, for cosmetic reasons. My eyebrows are fading and falling out (my mother had the same issue) so I am having mine restored by tattoos.

One of mine is an elephant An old school friend is finishing his apprenticeship, so I volunteered to have him do one for me before he was allowed to be off on his own.

I have three, all easily covered up, and most people don't know I have any. None on my arm, but really, they were not painful. The one on my ankle did have one spot where I almost jumped, but I didn't, and as soon as he moved the needle on, I was fine again.
I've had people ask "what are you going to think when you're old and having someone change your diaper?" Well, they'll get to see my tattoo in all it's old glory, and might think that the quiet old person has more of a story than they realize. Or they might think it's completely gross. I really don't care, I didn't get it for other people.

I have thought about that...I also have a scar in each eyebrow which has made it hard to pencil them in for years...finally just decide it would be a waste of money after I retired. One scar is from a fall & the other one is from chicken pox back when I was in my late 20's! I'm not fond of tatts, my retired Navy son has one...on his left hand, his ring finger...it's his wife's name that is under his wedding ring.

It's the foreign substances they put into my bod. Ink/dye/egg extract and all of that jazz keeps me away from little pointed things that puncture my skin.

Scars in eyebrows looks cool, I think. But. 2) If you *want* to cover it, there are other products besides pencils now available. Gels, powders, even inks that come on hair-like brushes. The focus on eyebrows lately mean options have really exploded.

I've decided to go rogue and NOT get a tattoo. Everybody has them.

I had planned to get one this month, for my birthday. I know what I want, but haven't looked for someone to do it. I don't think I've changed my mind, just haven't gotten around to it. It will be my only tattoo, nothing elaborate and not big.

I had semi-permanent eyeliner done once, when my lashes kept falling out. I wanted some definition on my eyes. Sadly, it didn't last as long as I hoped, or as long as they claimed. Personally, I'm not into tatts. But I hope you like what you get!

Forget what is called, but it doesn't go deep enough into the skin to make it permanent but enough to last a while. I think it's called microblading.

I can't ever decide on a where or what. Being a female in Florida drastically decreases my options if I want to be able to hide it at work. My current work doesn't care, but finance tends to be the more conservative department in companies so it could hold me back.
My mom will rue the day if I ever win a big lotto.

Also, for the record, it didn’t hurt at all. Now I just have to wait until everything heals up.

My new eyebrows are about three hours old. Also some redness and stiffness, but I look very human now. I had very little in the way of brows for a long time, thanks to scarring from chicken pox, acne and then aging. I am happy with not being afraid of cameras any more. I used to run from the room, hating how I looked. I don't want that any more. I look the way I was always supposed to look, and this makes me happy.

No regrets.
