120 lbs? Amazing! great job. I'm a cat lover too, have 3. Changed my name here but didn't post much anyway. Also love to garden but it's cold and gloomy here now.

Oh, suz is going to fit right in on EE. I work mostly with men, you would not believe the conversations I was involved in today. They bait me and then act suprised when I take the bait!!!! And if I use a bad word, all the conversations in the room stop and they stare at me!!!! I was just getting ready to say you sound a lot like Apple, and there she is! <waves to Apple>> LOL, I was posting at the same time and missed the one above mine. I'm also an only female (sometimes one of two females) on my crew and I love it. The guys are great and I'm usually the one "baiting them" I was going to make the comment that it sounded similar, but POM beat me to it! ( for POM!)

...when men were men and women were ashamed of them RDT - Women will ALWAYS be ashamed of men! What was the question? Oh, yeah... I'm a new poster. DH is a long-time regular here and I decided if I wanted to spend more quality with him, I needed to become involved on this board. (and since it was a new board, I felt it was my opportunity to "speak up") I'm a SAHM with two wonderful children whom I occasionally want to run away from and go back to my previous life. In that life I was a respected financial analyst, regular gym-goer and had a social life (other than play-groups .

Molly, congradulations and thank you for your support of a DH in a hard place for his country.
I'll go to the SS, I need to work on healthy eating choices for DH more than for me, but we can all learn.

Well, I said earlier that I try to be nice to people. It is only 10AM and I am done!!! I made someone cry (it wasn't my fault, she is just way too sensitive) and I feel bad about that, but everyone at work is p*******g me off. Anyone else having a day like this?
Love my job, love my job.... Yes I am trying to convince myself!

Then there you go. Many of us are new to moderating, so constructive feedback is a good thing. Posts whining about "boys with toys" and mods abusing their power aren't. We'll be far more conducive to making positive changes to our moderating styles without the personal attacks. thej, I'll take that to mean that valid complaints about moderators abusing their power (by posting personal attacks, for example) will be a waste of time.

Not at all. The phrasing, however, can be an issue -- for example, if you feel that I posted a personal attack, you're going to get a better response if you say "J I feel that post #XX is an unwarranted personal attack", then if you say "The J is a power hungry moderator who is using his position to abuse other people". Plus, there are multiple mods on every board (since moon is a mod for all), so even if I wasn't amenable to agreeing that I posted a personal attack, SL or rovo would be able to take a more objective view.

Commentator these guys know NOTHING about you. You have a chance to start fresh if you want. First, many of these guys do know who I am. Second, those guys have a chance to start fresh with me. FWIW, I have no intention of posting on any of the transferred boards except the one devoted to taxes and, occassionally, EE.

J, I'm skeptical but as long as only tax professionals are moderators on the tax board things should go just fine.
Edited to add:
"an unwarranted personal attack"
Does that mean some personal attacks are warranted?
