Ok but how about editing instead of deleting.....just asking of course with all due respect and courtesy being shown for your opinion.. I think that's an individual decision by each mod, based on whether or not the offending part of the post can be removed without changing the entire message. For your specific post, that's a question you should address with the mod who deleted it. And those questions should be posed via PM to the mod.

I did and he said he would have to get back to me so he asked Trae who then PM'd me and asked me what they should do and I said forget it or just edit more instead of using the delete key too much..and Trae said ok thank you sir.. ok??
I rest my case time to move on to the next one

Then there you go. Many of us are new to moderating, so constructive feedback is a good thing. Posts whining about "boys with toys" and mods abusing their power aren't. We'll be far more conducive to making positive changes to our moderating styles without the personal attacks.

I like long walks on the beach, fuzzy puppies, and a good fire burning in the fireplace on a cold rainy evening...

So, a post can be deleted because it strays?

So, a post can be deleted because it strays? The post that was deleted, IMHO, went way beyond straying from the topic. And it wasn't just that it strayed, it was the content of the post. And it wasn't on EE, where most things are expected to stray.

I think it would be simply wonderful to have a sticky thread entitled "Ask Management" where caring posters can positively interact with the mods on matters of board interest and their rulings.

Well, this morning I was quitting EE threads - partly because of a few "mean" people. There is a big difference between humor and sarcasm and out right meanness! Honestly, I don't have a lot of time and I to do things that can be fun, relaxing, and may teach me something. With that being said - I am kinda back and seeing what happens. Since I am a "newbie" to this thread, I will give you the down low!!! Hopefully if we all get to know each other a little this can be fun and I might just pull up a chair and sit a spell! I am a controller of a car dealership. It is tough sometimes because I have to deal with huge egos all day long and it is almost all men. Not that I mind that (sometimes it is fun being the token girl), it just is hard fitting in an "all boys club". I love to run - 5K's 10K's 1/2 marathons whatever! I live in the south and love to be able to drive less than a hour to the beach. I am on a bowling league, and pretty much that is all I can think of. I also am pretty shy, but have really come a long ways in that aspect. It was helped out a lot by the divorce (had to stand up for myself) and getting my Masters degree last year (tons of presentations and working with groups). Love life, Love God, and try to be nice to animals and people.

Oh and my screen name is due to the fact that I started out in Women In Red Racers. I want to be free from debt and be more responsible with my money (ie - grow up).
