Hey gals, I'm going to be back in for may. We decided to go ahead with the a garden this year. We were just going to do the flower bed out front, but after a week of rain, we needed more dirt in our flower bed out front and decided to go ahead and get a full load of dirt and do our raised veggie garden in the back. I am so excited. I have my periennial flowers started in the house and also my tomatos, peppers, lettuce, squash, broccoli and cauliflower. Anyway, I started this post 2 hrs ago. LOL. At book club this month, we talked about not having to do everything on your list, just the next thing. So for me, the next things for May are to abstain from drinking soda and to contribute to our Roth IRAs again. I'm only going to do $10 a week, but I know that adds up. Between the 2 of us we have about $50k in retirement savings. It isn't fabulous (I'm 29 and DH is 46), but it is a pretty good start. DS is trying to unplug the computer, so I better get going.
We are not to judge thrift solely by the test of saving or spending. If one spends what he should prudently save, that certainly is to be deplored. But if one saves what he should prudently spend, that is not necessarily to be commended. A wise balance between the two is the desired end. ~Owen Young

Thanks for all the b-day wishes for DS. He had a great time. Thursday DH made it back from Duluth (4 hours away) where he had training last week in plenty of time for dinner. Friday the family (grandparents, nieces, nephews, etc) DS and his friends all went to his party. We have this Family entertainment center with bowling, laser tag, video games, mini golf etc place we went to. Little kids bowled on one lane, big kids on another, adults visited. Went great- had a "waiter" assigned to us for the pizzas, cake, etc. They did all the clean up and all that jazz. Kids had a blast.
