Why is it that police can in most cases arrest a subject in seconds,, the prosecutor can bring charges in minutes,,,,
Yet,,, it took months and months, for something to happen here, and it is not done yet!!!!

jkapp - your post is against our COC for a couple of different reasons. First and foremost is copyright infringement. You didn't do a strict word for word copy and paste, but it is entirely too close to the original. Second is the "wall of text " rule. You are allowed to post a short snippet and the source link only. Please edit your post accordingly. ~ moon

Bad guys kill cops so therefore we just have to accept that cops will kill innocent people? Is that your point jkapp?

2) if I had copied it as a word for word paste, THEN it would have been a wall 3) By saying it is too long kind of reinforces the point i was trying to make, I think

Bad guys kills cops so cops might be quite a bit more proactive in making sure they are not included among the dead...that's my point. I guess your point is that cops are supposed to die so that bad guys can continue to kill them and others?

No, a short snippet is 5 lines or so. And I did look at the original article. That's how I knew you didn't do a full copy/ paste. Nonetheless, it was a huge amount and similar enough to cause copyright concerns.

Here is a point that I will make: Just as those who volunteer to serve our country in the military understand that a consequence of that is that they might be killed, police officers need to understand that is a risk they are volunteering to take. Let us operationalize your "quite a bit more proactive in making sure they are not included among the dead". To make sure they aren't killed, they could simply shoot every person in every car that they pull over before approaching it. They could answer each domestic violence call with guns blazing. Is that too proactive? Where exactly is the line that is too proactive? OldCoyote clearly thinks it has been long passed. I agree and disagree with him on a case by case basis.

My g-dtrs DH is a DPS officer and he told us he has about 1/2 second to make a decision on firing his weapon. He has served on hiway patrol, and other positions He has a very dangerous job but he loves helping and serving.
Each day I pray he makes it back to his family in good health.

Did he happen to tell you what really went down with the DPS officer, being killed and the second one wounded by an unarmed man. May that officer Rest in Peace!
I do not believe a word that comes out of Frank Milstead mouth,, This man thinks that the police can do NO wrong, is worse than Sheriff Joe. Under his command, Mesa AZ was sixth in the Nation in police shootings,, Remember Mesa AZ is the second largest Highly Ethical Mormon population in the U.S. behind Salt Lake!

Police respond,,, well at least they did not kill her this time! Yea,, does not speak English, but is to follow police orders! Yes, she had a knife do you realize how fast an 87 year woman can run across that 21 ft danger zone and stab every cop in sight ,,
One officer tased her before she could dash across that 21'.. his backup had his pistol out just in case she ripped the taser wires out continued her attack or at least that is what the cops act like!

Unfortunately , when it comes to American Justice,, It is not so fair and balanced! At least 20 years for fake calls,,,,, The cop that actually killed the innocent man,, 10 seconds after that man stepped out on his porch, 50 yards away,,, with a high powered assault rifle w/ a scope,,,, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! A STUPID TRIGGER HAPPY COP,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and nothing!

OldCoyote , we are trying up here in my state: Initiative 940, the measure that would remove a 32-year-old barrier in (Washington) state law that has made it virtually impossible to bring criminal charges against police officers believed to have wrongfully used deadly force, has passed with strong support. ... I-940 also requires de-escalation and mental-health training for police; requires officers to administer first aid to a victim of deadly force; and requires independent investigations into the use of deadly force. link

With the case mired in a typically lengthy appeals process, ... Sorry OldCoyote , this case is about tort reform.
