WASHINGTON - North Korea appears to be building one or two new liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missiles at a factory that produced the country's first missiles capable of reaching the United States, the Washington Post reported on Monday.
The newspaper, citing unidentified officials familiar with intelligence reporting, said U.S. spy agencies were seeing signs of the construction at a large research facility in Sanumdong, on the outskirts of Pyongyang. any update on that Nobel Prize yet?

So, what you have is a situation that's going to work out really well for the people of DPRK, and REALLY well for Kim Jong Un- considering the crimes against humanity he's responsible for and the record for past dictators once the North Korean people get a taste of life after sanctions. But it's not going to work out well for China- because let's be real: North Korea is just a military (and a nuclear one at that) proxy for China. And as for the rest of the DPRK regime? What becomes of them in a stable, economically prosperous and potentially re-unified Korea? Answer: not good things. As with most dictatorships, DPRK is weak, and crumbling from within. Kim Jong Un likely doesn't have full control over his regime or his people- and the status-quo is good for some people. And those people- with the help of China- are probably angling to derail denuclearization and the peaceful reunification of the peninsula. Luckily, President Trump isn't stupid.

Liquid fueled ICBM'S are old school...takes a long time to fuel them...very obviouse…, hard to conceal, especially from our satellites, drones..also don't believe one can keep rockets fueled for a long time......liquid fuel very caustic... We , Russians use solid fuel for our ICBM'S...The rockets removed from Turkey back at times of Cuban Missle Crises were outdated..liquid fueled I believe.

Just to show how close we were to a nuclear war...estimated casualties..a billion casualties...actually a dead Soviet submariner should be credited with preventing that scenario.... ================================ " Captain Valentin Savitsky of the Soviet sub B-59 cracked under the pressure of harassment by U.S. warships, who were dropping practice depth charges on his sub. Savitsky ordered his nuclear torpedoes loaded. "We're going to blast them now! We will die, but we will sink them all!" His second, Vasili Archipov, calmed him down and probably saved a billion lives. ================================= www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/18ye6f/during_the_cuban_missile_crisis_were_russias/That must have been one hell of a argument on that Soviet Sub... ---------------------------------------- Suggest one take time to read....and honor the man. Luckily, President Trump isn't stupid. No, he's ignorant which may be worse than stupid! what i find so galling about him is the contempt he has for others, such as diplomats. he thinks he is smarter than all of them, and doesn't need their advice. here is a little hint: all presidents are smart, Donny. ALL OF THEM. what differentiates the best from the worst is not the confidence they have in their OWN intelligence, but the quality of their advisors, and what they did with it. that is it. period. nothing more or less.

Wait... you JUST figured out that China backs the DPRK? Here's another tasty little tidbit... Russia is also an allie of the DPRK. And the DPRK isn't crumbling... China has too much to loose if it does. Kim JongUn (and his predecessors) have skillfully played their game of politics by pitting the US against China. It's NEVER really been about the DRPK against the US. So, what exactly DID Trump accomplish with the DPRK? Or was all of his bluster and twittering just a distraction from the shit he and his administration are doing here? Was that the "smart" thing Trump did? Used the DPRK to further mislead the American people? I'm assuming that as a Trump supporter you're keeping up to date on all the really important stuff that Trump is doing... so, tell us... let's hear about all the glorious stuff Trump is accomplishing here at home - so glorious and wonderful that he feels he needs to 'distract' everyone from paying any attention to it?

also their own actions...take Kennedy for example...Many fault him for going along with previouse administrations ..Eisenhower's ..plan to remove Castro....Bay of Pigs fiasco...blame him not comitting our Air Force..however...when all his advisors..official ones..military ones...unofficial ones..[previouse administration advisors] were pushing for a invasion of Cuba...he said no...came up with the idea of a blockade...that finally worked. [All those conversations in the oval office were caught on tape so what I post is fact] What was found out after the Wall came down and information was shared...Cuba had tacticle nuclear weapons, the ones that would have been used on the beaches..on the invasion fleet as it was gathered off shore, o the marshaling ports...Florida , were reinforcements were gathered together...and Castro was chomping at the bit to use them...little thought given to the then complete destruction of Cuba and his people... Don't believe Nixon would have held off...

It's long been pointless to discuss anything here. I was encouraged by our one (1) singular point of agreement on voting machines / paper ballots. Other than that, it's like the posters here are living in a parallel universe. Except there isn't one, and the real problem is that many of you are hallucinating. I don't have anything in common with Democrats / leftists anymore. They're off the cliff. They are the party of Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez now. Open borders, amnesty, welfare, rabid anti-semitism, and the criminalization of political differences-- they're really the party of tyrants in waiting. Our job now isn't to argue political points. It's to defend Americans from all enemies foreign and domestic. Sad day.

The newspaper, citing unidentified officials familiar with intelligence reporting, said U.S. spy agencies were seeing signs of the construction at a large research facility in Sanumdong, on the outskirts of Pyongyang. As a "Anonymous Source",,,, Why is Unidentified Officials,,, could be construed as creditable ?? source??
With all the lies that are being told by government agents or employees that we read about every day!!!! We are going to apply creditable to,,,,,Unidentified Officials??
Sigh!

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other Administration officials have come out on record this week that there is no evidence of North Korea building additional missiles and stories so stating that are attempts to derail negotiations. Or at least they likely would if that was the true situation. I may have missed them doing that so would welcome a link.

I consider any counter stories or lack thereof. I consider history of events and individuals if possible. I make a decision of what is "truth". I reconsider as I feel is appropriate with new information. Very different than "believing".
