Pick your divisional championship teams now, and we will see who is right in October. Then pick your eventual champs who will be in the World Series, All picks must be made by Friday, noon, to be in the game.

Yes, you read that correctly, I'm saying the Yankees won't make it to the post season. I hope my prediction for the World Series is wrong too. I don't get into baseball until July, can I make my picks then? No. We could always start a new one on July 1st, so we could get it correct. Right now, Adam Dunn just hit his first home run as a White Sox. Sox up 4 zip in Cleveland. Cubbies just fell behind Pittsburgh, 4 to 2

Two months in:
AL East: Boston, 2nd place (only a couple percentage points away from first). AL West: Texas, 1st place. AL Central: Twins, last place.
NL East: Philadelphia, 1st place. NL West: San Fransisco, 1st place. NL Central: Cincinnati, 3rd place.
Not too bad so far.

The M's are making a serious push in the West...didn't think I'd be saying that this season!

White sox knocked out of the race by the evil Yankees, then, Sox go to Minnesota and sweep the Twins who have killed them for four years. Go Figure.

Hi Value Buy and everyone else I am a refugee from the Lifestyle board and a fan of those " evil Yankees, Not sure if I should start a new thread but this is a BB one. as everyone knows Jeet ( dereck Jeter got 3,000 hits this year and Mo ( Rivera) is closing in on 600 saves and right after that the record ( 602). This would be a raity for twoplayers on one team same season, assuming Mo does it this year. That is the brag, now the question, which one impresses you more and why For me, no doubt the saves , b/c not only have only two guys ever done that , but a save always means something. Closers are the only players who perform under presure every time ou.

The 'SAVES" stat is impressive, but I remember when a "save" meant the relief pitcher came in with the tieing or winning run on base. Now, those were saves.

WE ARE DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!!! Tigers all the way. Look at the two of us sitting pretty atop our divisions! Just got home from the Phillies game and it was awesome! I fully remember the dark days of Phillies fandom, so five straight division wins are not taken for granted! Good luck, Tigers!

Thanks Meghan. Goose was just saying "who do you want the Tigers to play against in the World Series.?" I of course said The Phillies without a moment hesitation! That would be an awesome series!

Okay, let's see how I did. AL East: Yankees. I was way wrong on that one as I predicted they wouldn't even be the wild card. AL West: Texas Rangers. AL Central: Detroit. I predicted the Twins who ended up in last place. LOL. AL Wild Card: Tampa Bay. I predicted the White Sox. NL East: Phillies. I predicted the Phillies. NL West: Arizona. I predicted San Fransisco Giants. NL Central: Milwaulkee. I predicted the Reds. NL Wild Card: St.Louis. I predicted the Braves (dang, they collapsed!). I predicted that Boston would win the World Series. HA! My predictions were terrible. It's a good thing I didn't bet any money on this. * Even though this was a painful season for my team, they played with heart this September. It was highly enjoyable watching the Red Sox collapse. Go O's!!!

The White Sox, who should have won their division actually managed to match the Chicago Cubs futility total of games under five hundred. How Boston could blow it, is beyond me...... Atlanta permitted St Louis to sneak in

Why should the White Sox have been the team to win the Central? The Indians and the Twins have won the division far more often than the W. Sox have....so it does confuse me on why you would pick the W. Sox to win the Division over the other teams.

As a devout White Sox fan since 1959 (I was in grade school) it is my fate to always hate the Twinkies, much like Chicago football fans can never accept the Vikings as equals. It is in our blood. Cleveland? Two words. "Major League" can never accept our fate against them If you remember, many pundits really felt the Sox had the best pitching staff in the majors this year. They were wrong.
