oh, it's so easy. you just need a gadget with a sharp blade. my mom's spiralizer looks like a big pencil sharpener. mine's older, it's a bigger contraption. here's some options: Paderno spiralizer <-- I have this one VegettiOXO

Last night was a BLT with an egg on top and french fries. Yum. Today will be something with pork chops. I don't know what yet.

Tonight will probably be leftover spaghetti. Cost $0 as it's restaurant leftovers and my grandma paid.
Wednesday night we have a baseball game. So food at the stadium or MIL's when we pick his niece and nephew up from there.
Thursday night I have no idea. I need to get to the store and get some chicken.

I want to make zoodles. I'm going to have to YouTube it or something. I buy them already done at grocery store. Zucchini, sweet potatoe, butternut squash and some others. Probably cost a little more than doing them yourself but I'm lazy and I would probably zoodle a finger in the process.

andi9899, DH bought me this one from Wally World a few years ago for Christmas. It's okay. I'd like to upgrade to the model with a handle, however, for ease of use.

So after you cut them, so you salt them to dry them out? Is that how that works? Aren't you just going to boil them like noodles anyway? I guess I don't get it.

I let them sit, usually on a few paper towel sheets, in a colander for a little while before sauteeing. generally, if I spiralize first, they have enough time while I prep whatever else is going in the pan.

Just sautee them in olive oil or something? Yes. Plus a bit of minced garlic. I've served them plain, or under chicken Alfredo. Nom nom nom....

Just sautee them in olive oil or something? yup. last night's plan, I'll do tonight, was saute onion and garlic in olive oil, then in a can of diced tomatoes (w/basil, garlic, oregano) and cook that down. add the zoodles when the tomatoes are basically cooked, bc you don't need to cook them long before they are overdone.

Glad you asked. I didn't google last night. I have heard of beef tips so I just figured it was turkey cut into chunks kinda like beef tips. Maybe chiver78 will see this and enlighten me. Not like I'll be eating but just curious. Might be my learn something new today! pretty much. So the word "tips" is meaningless? It's just chunks?

finally cooked the zoodles tonight. they are a little overdone, oops. I also sprinkled a little parmigiano into the pan when I turned off the heat. turkey tips, zoodles marinara, a chunk of baguette (since my scala bread was moldy, boo...) and a really good rose. yum!

Not altogether sure what steak tips are, either. Chunks of steak, like stewing beef? Are they all from the same piece of meat? Or a hodgepodge of different chunks? Beg pardon, but we seem to have an entirely different meat-based vocabulary here.

Interesting read. I have heard of "beef tips" all my life. I don't think I have ever seen chicken or turkey "tips" in a grocery story though. Learn something new today Next time out I'll have to look.

Well, now that you mention it that would make sense. Not a meat eater so I probably have seen them just didn't register.

Last night I had a turkey burger and some steamed veggies. I'll probably have the same for lunch. Tonight I need to clean out the fridge, so who knows what I'll end up with.

Tonight's dinner will be meatballs and sausage with macaroni. DH has been asking me to make it and we have home made meatballs in the freezer.

I tend to find penicillin samples growing when I finally clean out the fridge. But on occasion I do get a super stir fry going with left overs and bit and pieces.

I'm hoping for stir fry this time. It's been a while though, so I'm a little leery.

Similar to andi9899, I'm going to Happy Hour tonight, so an appetizer and adult beverage it is! saveinla and NoNamePerson, our neighbor gave us 4 more beets Sunday. I am pleased to report I got to them in time and made a puree out of them. Tuesday I washed, peeled, washed, and roughly chopped them into a bowl of water, cooked them in the microwave for 16 minutes, drained and put them into the blender with a ton of butter, heavy cream, salt and pepper. I served them under boneless pork chops. Delicious.

I made some appetizers from the end of a bag of tator tots, shredded cheddar cheese and bacon that DH cooked on Sunday. Dinner was a salad and I made Budget Bytes unstuffed peppers. More fridge items got used up. DH is on his own this weekend. I'm going home to visit my family. There's leftover roast and there will be leftover pepper stuff. And people invite him to dinner like he's going to starve or something. Any time Mom is out of town and Dad is home she asks me to feed him. She has 2 refrigerators stuffed full of godknowswhat and an overflowing pantry. He won't starve but I have to feed him.
