I put a London broil in the Crock-Pot this morning with baby red potatoes and carrots. Cleaned some old carrots out of the fridge and swiped the remaining handful of baby ones off Saturday's vegetable tray. DH was thrilled with the meat and potatoes dinner. I would say somewhere around $10. There's some leftover to feed DH tomorrow.
Tomorrow night will probably be leftovers. I have baking to do.

got home tired and still in need of putting the fridge back together. the parts were stilllaid out in the towels across the counter. at least S had enough sense to put away the containers that I ran through the dishwasher last night and left out to air dry overnight.
dinner tonight was a Caesar salad ($1 for the small romaine heart, negligible for the cheese/croutons/dressing) and a bowl of spinach raviolis ($2 for 60 1"square raviolis) with red sauce from Saturday. I ultimately froze all but about 1.5c of sauce on Sunday. there's still a little more, maybe one more meal out of that

Used the leftover roast with potatoes, carrots, onion, and celery, added corn, and the left over green beans, vegetable soup was good.

stovetop and broiler only tonight. my sister told me about these little baby potatoes that she will boil and then toss in garlic butter with other seasonings. I did 2 servings of that on the stovetop and broiled off a leftover chicken cutlet and some prosciutto wrapped asparagus.

I picked up a pizza on the way home. $17ish. DH called and wanted one. Probably for the best as I had to bake cookies and frost cupcakes.

I boil them and then they're soaked in butter and a ton of chopped parsley.

I think I'm just going to go to the taco place on the way home tonight and get $1 tacos. No cooking required.

I stopped at the fish market on my way home from work for a small salmon filet ($5). I sliced the skin off and rolled the filet in Cajun seasoning and baked it. paired that with a small Caesar salad.

Ended up going out to dinner. I had Buffalo chicken nachos and they were delicious. I regret nothing.

yeah, I'm not a fan. I take that opportunity to slice off the dark meat as well. salmon, swordfish, any of that.

We had leftover pork loin, snap peas, and some watermelon that we grew in the back yard. I keep finding pork loin for $1.99 per pound, so its turning into a somewhat regular dinner for us. I had expected the glut of pork to bring down beef prices a bit, but I'm not seeing it at the local grocery store.

I'm actually going to the store tonight. I'll probably get a rotisserie chicken while I'm there so I don't have to heat up the house. I have a lot to do at home this weekend.

tonight is "clean out the fridge", I think. I have half a romaine heart chopped from last night's salmon Caesar, and a little red sauce left from last weekend that will need to be used tonight or pitched. there might still be one chicken cutlet, too.
grocery store in the morning, last sale day for split chicken for the pups. I can Instant Pot it on Sunday, too much to do tomorrow before heading up to Boston for a concert.

Tomorrow night: Steak at the campsite. $0.00
Sun: IDK yet? Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

I made some appetizers from the end of a bag of tator tots, shredded cheddar cheese and bacon that DH cooked on Sunday.
Dinner was a salad and I made Budget Bytes unstuffed peppers. More fridge items got used up.
DH is on his own this weekend. I'm going home to visit my family. There's leftover roast and there will be leftover pepper stuff. And people invite him to dinner like he's going to starve or something.

It doesn't matter how many pre-cooked and packaged items I leave for DH, he usually ends up hanging out at the counter at Denny's. Sometimes the servers ask me when I am going on my next work trip.

I bought a rotisserie chicken last night and had that with veggies. I'll probably have the same tonight. I'm finally going to the grocery store, so we'll see what I end up with.

I baked some tilapia and served it with one of those Birdseye sides - spinach and couscous, and the last of our snap peas.

to quote another YMAM poster, I am making inappropriate noises while eating dinner right now. I put a 1lb pork tenderloin in the Instant Pot and slow cooked it via an already loved recipe of a packet of onion soup, some dry red wine, l/s soy sauce, water and garlic. the au jus is insane. I roasted off the last of the tiny potatoes and some Brussels sprouts, there will be another meal's worth of both left over. I've got another 2 or 3 servings of pork, depending what else goes with it. my plate right now has a huge pile of sprouts, a few halved potatoes, the slices of pork that fell apart as I was cutting and a small cup of au jus. I'm dipping everything in it, and I have scala bread for the rest of it. costs: $2 pork $1.50 Brussels sprouts ? from a $2 loaf of scala bread the taters were getting pitched on Tuesday if not cooked. wine was the end of a bottle someone opened over a week ago. everything else was here.

I spiralized two zucchini earlier, but held.off on cooking until a friend left. original plan was to have zoodles marinara with sauteed turkey tips. the zoodles weren't actually dried out enough since I forgot to spiralize before making a batch of gazpacho, though, and it was 830, so I packed them up for tomorrow.
dinner tonight turned into a one pot doctored packet of Knorr chicken flavored rice, with some sauteed turkey tips (I saved myself some for the zoodles) and broccoli. and there's leftovers, so I have an unexpected meal in the menu somewhere.
cost? minimal. turkey tips were $5 for the package, I used about half tonight. everything else was here, there is always broccoli in my fridge.

I have no idea what "turkey tips" are. I looked it up, but got tips on roasting turkey. Glad you asked. I didn't google last night. I have heard of beef tips so I just figured it was turkey cut into chunks kinda like beef tips. Maybe chiver78 will see this and enlighten me. Not like I'll be eating but just curious. Might be my learn something new today!
