I had veggies coated with spices and olive oil and baked, then spiced steaks and shrimp, cooked the steaks, then
added the shrimp, was all very good together.

We had waffles. I also made two sausage patties, but DH didn't want one so I ate both. I forgot how easy and how tasty breakfast for supper can be sometimes.

I had another Cobb salad at the office, and the last of the cold leftover Pepe's pizza when I got home an hour or so ago. maybe a slice and a half if the cuts were regular? I'm still up watching baseball, so the late night bites are fine.

Last night we were tired, I had worked outside so knew I was not going to have the energy to do dinner.
So we had hotdogs on the grill, I picked up cole slaw and macaroni and cheese at the deli and fresh buns, it was ok,
except hubs said the mac and cheese wasn't every good, figured as much.
Tonight is spaghetti, probably salad, and garlic bread. I have some ground beef that needs used up so will.

It's grocery shopping week, so some items haven't yet been purchased. Last night was leftover brats, veggies and dip. $0.00 Tonight: Tuna nicoise salad using up fridge leftovers and a couple cans tuna. $1.25 Tues: Rotisserie chicken, side veggies. Approx $7 Wed: Something with ground beef. Need to buy. Cheddar cheese "taco shells", ground beef (bought in a 3 lb value pack), sour cream, black olives, fried eggplant to use it up before it goes bad. Cost approx $7 for 3 servings.
Thurs: Fish. Need to buy. Cod (e-coupon) breaded with pork rinds and Parmesan cheese (the leftover mixture from last week's chicken legs is in the fridge), spinach side salad. Cost approx $5 for 2 servings
Fri: Take out from? DH pays.
Sat: IDK yet
Sun: Something smoked or grilled. Bought a 3 ribeye steak value package, so DH will grill 2 and I'll put one in the freezer for future use. I'll serve with side veggies. Cost approx $17 for 2 servings.
Have a fantastic week, everyone!
Rounding out the week above in bold.

I brought in another container of salad greens, but I'm starving today for some reason. lunch was a turkey sandwich and chips, so who knows. I think I might go check out the new Chipotle that opened up near my office. a burrito is a lot heartier than a salad, even a protein-packed Cobb.

tonight, I had that container of greens tossed with what still looked good of what I chopped up on Sunday for veggies. I pitched the rest, plus the remaining chicken that was already a few days old (since opening the package) when I cooked it off Sunday. the Pyrex containers are all coming home with me tonight.
I also just polished off the end of a pint of dairy-free B&J almond caramel brittle ice cream. that stuff is deadly!

I bought fresh luncheon meats and cheeses so we had cold cuts.
Also fresh rolls and I made deviled eggs, was a good dinner. We had Blue Bell ice cream for dessert.
Got to cut off the ice cream, we do not need weight gain. But haven't found Blue Bell for a couple of years and its
delicious. At our local grocer $7.99 per half gallon, youchie.

I have leftovers from yesterday's lunch for dinner tonight. yesterday, I roasted a broccoli crown and cooked a Bertolli meal, mixing the broccoli in to serve. this morning as I was shredding some rotisserie chicken for the pups (until I can cook more this weekend) I saved a little for myself and added that to what was left of the pasta and broccoli.
cost: $1 for the broccoli? I don't remember buying the Bertolli meal in the first place.

We had pasta with fresh ground sirloin/spaghetti sauce. I only use half of the package so we will be having sloppy joes or something this weekend with the other half.
It was good, but we ate pretty late for us. The bug guy came by to spray for carpenter bees while I was browning the meat so we waited. We didn't finish dinner until 7 p.m., which is late for us. DH loses his appetite easily, but he did ok. The garlic bread was really good.
Lunch was great! This is the time of the year when everyone tries to feed us in appreciation . . . as if we aren't hungry the rest of the year. A local deli sent over turkey and ham sandwiches. They had all the fixings and were so good.

Finally made the chicken spinach manicotti. I'm in a mood lately where nothing made at home sounds good. But we need to cut back to pay for the AC.
Cost probably $10 or so? Could have been cheaper but I had to pick up ricotta and shredded mozzarella at the close not cheap if it's not on sale grocery store. A little planning would have made it cheaper.

In honour of the momentous occasion across the pond, I made DS some bangers and mash. I'll be having some catfish fillets with the mashed potatoes.

You get a glimpse at how different DH and my tastes are. He boiled some eggs to make egg salad. I took one of the eggs and chopped it to include in my chicken salad. So that's what we are having for supper tonight.

I'll tell him you suggested the diced red onion, though. I used celery salt. I prefer celery, but I used what I had.

I can take or leave paprika in general, but egg salad to me needs garlic powder, lots of black pepper, and a pinch of tarragon, plus diced red onion. I blame road trip gas station sandwiches when I was working in Ireland for that - you don't see egg salad over there without the onion.

All the oniony goodness without the harshness or bite.

Monday already?! Last night I made DH Zatarain's with smoked sausage (sale), and a spinach (this bag just keeps going and going...) antipasto salad for me. Leftover fried eggplant for both of us. Cost approx $6. Tonight: Leftover zucchini ravioli from the freezer, leftover Zatarain's for DH, and some sort of protein for me. $2
Wed: Teriyaki chicken breasts I flavored and put in the freezer last month with a side veggie with eggplant in a stir fry recipe I just found online. Cost approx $4.50 Thurs: Leftovers $0.00
Fri: Take out from? DH buys.
Sat: Going to ask DH if he wants to smoke ribs. There's a rack I bought a few months ago in the spare freezer. I think they were $12-ish?
Sun: Friend's twin's BD BBQ. I'll ask what we can bring. I'm thinking a mock tater (cauliflower in lieu of potato) salad. Cost approx $4.50
Monday: Dinner out w/ the fam Have a fantastic week, everyone.

ha. great minds think alike. yesterday's batch cook recipe for the week was Zatarain's l/s dirty rice. I used ground pork and added minced garlic, onion and jalapeno.
I just polished off a portion of that here at the office, and I'm probably going to pick up a pint of ice cream when I run out to see if I can find a top to wear to yet another interview at the same place on Wednesday morning. I'll post more about that on the job thread if anyone's interested.

Not sure for tonight. I'm exhausted and it's 81 inside. No way am I turning on the oven. Maybe we can grill the pork tenderloin roast that's thawed out. I typically pan sear and finish off in the oven.

I am using things from the freezer.
I fixed DD and hubs some barbecue and fried potatoes. I fried some chicken wings for myself and the dog.
Just all I wanted. May have some frozen peas also.
Trying to make myself use things up, also frozen fruit, strawberries and peaches. I need to defrost my big freezer
before season comes in again. I did clean the little one earlier this spring. Also have a pretty good sized freezer
on the fridge so way to much stuff. I really need to downsize to just the big freezer and the kitchen one.
We also have another regular size fridge in the garage, I keep extra milk and fresh veggies, eggs, and yogurt
out there.
Son bought one for kimchee and things in his garage.

We went out for Chinese last night. Bonus the restaurant had properly working AC and we do not. We have leftovers for tonight.

I bought 10 pounds of Vadalia onions from the Shriners, they don't last long, can't keep them in the winter.
I LOVE them when in season we have them in everything, very very good for sure.
I may make tacos tonight, that does sound good, need to thaw out ground beef.

I think we will make onion rings this weekend with some vidalias. the friend that's coming up for the long weekend is the one that brings me jalapeno lager. dinner tonight was a can of Progresso chicken tortilla soup, with some salad topper tortilla strips stirred in. and then 1/3 of a pint of B&J's almond caramel brittle.
