Thank you, shanendoah. Regarding your food choice last night, mashed potatoes are one of my top 5 comfort foods, so hopefully you find solace in them, too.

Trip to Colorado?
Wasn't going this year, but may now. I would still have to pay for the hotel. What I don't want to pay for is a car rental. I need to find out from somebody if Uber is in Boulder.
I like to go over Thanksgiving but the small rental cars are all gone so they give me a huge tank that I am not comfortable driving. Means I didn't do much because of fear of driving the car.

Not sure about Boulder, but Lyft operates heavily in Denver, so perhaps Uber would, too? Was just there over the weekend for a concert, and there were 6 cars within 1-4 minutes of us at one point. It was my first experience with them and I found the service to be convenient, fascinating and friendly.

I don't care if it's Uber or Lyft. I don't want to rent a car.
Thanks for the info.

Thank you. I'm going in November. Now for the volleyball and women's basketball schedules to come out. I just checked the cost and I'm covered for the air fare. Would only have to pay for hotel and Uber/Lyft.

I'm back. My craft retreat was wonderful and I have lots of incomplete projects to work on. Spent a lot as I knew I would but had the money set aside for it. Think I will have enough left over to use as seed money for next year's retreat once all of the bills are paid. Just waiting for the hotel bill to hit the CC so I can finish up this year's accounting for this event.

Day 1 went okay. But it looks like I'll need to swing by a grocery store tonight to pick up bread. The loaf I had at home was moldy.

Haven't spent anything since last Wednesday at the liquor store for DH's BD party. Stuck to the list, and stayed on budget. Need to do a tiny grocery run tonight for cream for coffee, and some lunch meat for DH. We're going to a comedy show later this week, but I already bought tickets in February. I'll "let" DH buy me dinner. Other than this evening, I foresee no spending until July.

And now for this week. I'll try to be honest about what was in the plan for Monday & Tuesday (vs what actually happened...)
The maids did not get as much done as I had hoped on Monday, meaning I ended up putting off the pictures and listing of the house a week. Yesterday we finally got approval for C to be at the house with me, so he came over and we did a lot of work (more than is strictly needed, but we have an extra week, so we're using it). We ended up getting Papa Murphys for dinner. Today is C's birthday, so we're going out for dinner. I am hoping to see Baby Boy tomorrow. And then this weekend is all house stuff, with the exception of dinner and a concert on Friday night. And next week, there will be more car service expenses, because it turns out the cam shaft is failing. 5 days and $4100(+).

I'm so happy for you and C that he can be at the house with you! Fingers crossed for a quick sale!

Thanks for the good wishes. Selling the house won't be a problem. I expect we'll have it on the market for a week. Because of the holiday, it will list on Friday (a week from tomorrow). Open houses on Saturday and Sunday. We'll probably have an offer review date of Wednesday or Thursday. But we bought the house for $455k 3 years ago. We're listing at $600k, and while not expecting a huge bidding war, expect we'll sell the house for somewhere between $625-650k. Seattle has low inventory to begin with, and our neighborhood even less. It's a highly desirable neighborhood, and our house is pretty nice, too. So yeah, Seattle housing market means I'm not worried about selling the house quickly or the profit level.
Had dinner last night for C's birthday. Won't see him today as I'll go see Baby Boy after work. But then it will be a busy weekend.

Sounds like the Boulder housing market where if you don't have cash, you are most likely SOL.

While in the big city, I ended up buying a few things for the house which had been on the list for several months. Granted, I kept the cost down by going to Wally World and a dollar store, but still... And we ended up going out with friends after last night's show. We split the bill, and I can use it for a write off, but yeah.... Ouch.

All of you are doing well.
All of the bills are paid and I don't see any major expenses coming up this month with the exception of a Sam's run and repair work if the handyman shows up to complete the repairs. The craft retreat has been completely paid for and I did have a little more saved than I needed. Putting that amount in the spreadsheet as seed money for next year's retreat. I love excel -- has everything I need and I can make adjustments as needed. This year I had the equivalent of two retreats and look forward to the same in 2019.

New week. New plan. House is ready for pictures tomorrow afternoon, and goes on the market Friday morning, with open houses on Saturday and Sunday. Gas & Car Service is down for today, but it will be whenever they get the car back to us. (We have to refill the tank on the loaner car.) I expect Saturday late afternoon and Sunday will be spent looking at houses.

Alright, I am not calling anything out of plan for now. We don't have the car back. Maybe next week. We did not go out to dinner on Tuesday, C's roommates made dinner for us. They made dinner again on Wednesday, but we stopped and got some groceries for that. I am calling that Tuesday's dinner, just moved a day. No medical copay because it was my annual exam.

This week I had another grocery run to get the basics and a few things I was out of. Also had several RXs that needed to be refilled.
This coming week is a dentist visit (I don't have dental insurance so it is OOP) , the needed Sam's run and several of the utility bills should also show up this week. All needed and somewhat planned for. Will try to stick to my list but I usually find something that I will use while I am there. I try to only make that trip a few times a year. Several items this trip will only be purchased once this year. I think that a the next trip will also have a few items in similar need but I currently have enough to last several months.
