Journalist Leslie Stahl was talking to Trump off the record in the lead up to the election, when Trump kept trash talking the 'lying media.' She asked him why he did that and he said that if he keeps demeaning and debasing journalism, when a journalist says something negative about Trump, no one will believe the news report.
That's his MO - slander someone to demean and discredit them so his base will not believe what they say. He's turned that tactic on the FBI now, by turning an investigation of the potential Russian collaborators trying to influence his campaign into an investigation against him, personally, and demanding an investigation of the government office that is investigating him, which is dangerously close to creating a Constitutional crisis.
The amazing thing to me is that polls show 61% of the America public know Trump is almost always being less than truthful, and yet so many Americans are buying his bullshit 'they were spying on me!' tale. the only problem with this tactic is that his mob doesn't determine legal outcomes for him. And at least for me, its made me less discerning and caring. If Trump is selling the idea, its probably false and self-serving. And if it is false and self-serving, what is he trying to hide or redirect from this time. Today its probably the Ukrainian access money that might be in his pocket. |

How many pages until mid-terms? a week ago last Friday. now he is saying September 1st for the obstruction portion, which seems reasonable, on the surface. though the POtuS keeps adding to the obstruction charge. ie- ordering the DOJ to investigate itself could certainly be seen as additional evidence of obstruction.  |

i can give you a very good illustration. when the subject of my derision was still RUNNING for president, he held a press conference to say that Obama's birth certificate was real. it was riddled with factual inaccuracies, most of which i had heard before, but he made headlines at the time by accusing Clinton of "starting birtherism". in polling done shortly after that speech, 60% of the voting public believed that lie. this is the proximate goal of the bullshit: so seduce those that want to believe it into repeating it. in a sense he is working for Russian spambots. sometimes i wonder if he is one.

A little insider information on why Trump has branded the FBI informant a 'spy' - it sounds more nefarious than 'informant' which helps him agitate the MAGA minions and the media. Trump needs his devoted following to be as anti-DOJ and pro-Fox as possible, so they'll be primed to ignore anything the FBI or non-Fox media says, in coming weeks.

You are seeing the total unraveling of the Mueller cover up operation.
For a YEAR they have denied spying, just like they denied knowing anything about the Clinton-authored, bought and paid for phony British and Russian agent assembled, fake phony intelligence document "dossier" they used as the PRIMARY piece of evidence to obtain the fraudulent FISA warrant.
Now, they deny spying while admitting it, but saying it was for a good reason to "protect" Trump, and that it was, quoting James Comey, "tightly regulated".

If members took it upon themselves not to post when angry or deeply frustrated, when there's a fire in their belly and they want to lash out to silence objectionable speech, I reckon nary a warning nor a deletion would taint these hallowed halls.

The age of lies continues. As usual its a fake story based on some facts designed to suck people in. Even though Trump's attempts to craft his story are obvious, some will fall for the fantasy lies he presents because they like the story of Trump as victim. As usual, no spying, Trump not a target ... again. Spy is a smaller word than informant and sounds more ominous so Trump is using it even though it is less accurate. The lies are funny at times. Do you ask yourself why Clinton would buy a dossier if she authored it herself? Of course its BS of the highest order. Its a known truth the dossier evolved and was paid for by multiple sources including Clinton's campaign. The BS about protecting Trump is fully made up. Obama held back and didn't weaken his campaign, yet as usual Trump is an ungrateful man for that show of fairness and restraint. Nice tell though. 'This is real' means please listen and believe in my fake story of the day.
