I know the kingdom has problems...criticism's but wouldn't Want them to be anything but our friends...I know they weren't happy with Obama... never really knew why... f funny thing is..if any of these countries are criticized in any way over anything they take it as a deathly insult...Israel too..Obama gave them just about every thing they wanted...thought they treated the West Bank and Gaza Palestinians like crap..[they do...been there four times..pretty good observer] so Obama is now least liked POTUS...Don't know where Carter is on that list... Because they understood that a weaker US and a more indebted US were both bad things... and if they happened together, like with Obama? They understood that it was exponentially bad. Not that they cared about the US citizens, but they knew that it was bad for the world. Just my guess/opinion for their reasoning though, no facts on the issue are known by me nor included by me. " Just my guess"........ok Actually.... "Obama landed in Riyadh earlier Wednesday for a summit with Gulf leaders and spent two-and-a-half hours meeting with the 80-year-old monarch on issues that have recently strained the alliance, including the conflict in Yemen, the role of Iran, Lebanon's instability and the fight against ISIS, U.S. officials said.
Statements after the meeting made clear that deep differences remain on several of these points, with the two sides agreeing to disagree and a U.S. official characterizing the encounter as the start of a discussion rather than a venue for solutions." ------------------------- Also if I remember correctly...Saudis not happy with the deal with Iran to stop development of nuclear weapons...they actually were moore in line with Israeli attitudes...'

Ah... well at least now you know why (but the parts I said couldn't have helped matters... smart people know that a weak and in-debt {which is what Obama gave us} US is bad for the world)

Yes, they likely will... and I am not arguing that. BUT... Trump isn't the Apologist-in-Chief that Obama was. We aren't getting that "double-whammy" that we got for the last 8 years, before Trump.

Show me his apology to China. I haven't come across it (if it exists) yet.
Saying "I understand you looking out for your people" (which is the gist of what I did see and hear him say) isn't apologizing.

The massive oil glut resulted in a drastic reduction in Saudi revenues. They have been borrowing money. The trillion dollar surplus has been drying up. So, they must change.

resolution hit the nail on the head: it's a move to consolidate power by the heir apparent, eliminating "problems".

Another strange thing is Saudi Arabia has been planning to go public and issue stock to the entire world in their oil company, Aramaco. Hope I have the name correct..... The planned offering was said to be one of the largest public monetary offerings ever to be released on the first public offering. I must think this puts the offering in jeopardy or on hold now, as world investors might be afraid to invest in this if there is political problems within the Royal family. I also think it is possible the Prince knows this and want to keep the money from their oil fields all in the Saudi Kingdom, rather than dispensing profits all over the world in the dividends, etc. This article suggests that the Saudi purge is not what it seems to be... ---------------------------------------------- Why the Saudi “Purge” Is Not What It Seems to Be BY Ali Shihabi on 11.09.2017 This past weekend, Saudi Arabia detained numerous members of the royal family, as well as current and former ministers and prominent businessmen, on charges of corruption. Many argued that the detentions constitute a thinly veiled attempt by the Kingdom’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) to consolidate political power. However, this narrative misses the mark; the “purge” is not about removing political rivals who threatened MBS’s position as heir apparent but rather about sending a message to political and economic elites that their entitlement to extreme wealth and privilege, and their impunity, is coming to an end. ------------------------------------- www.arabiafoundation.org/arabia-comment/why-the-saudi-purge-is-not-what-it-seems-to-be/

----------------------------------------------- 2:32 AMSaudi Prince Released After $1 Billion Deal, Official Says By Alaa Shahine November 28, 2017 6:35 PM EST Updated on November 29, 2017 EST
Prince Miteb agreed to pay settlement in corruption probe Saudi crown prince said most graft suspects agreed to settle Saudi Crown Prince Said Most Suspects Agreed to Settle Bloomberg’s Zainab Fattah discusses the corruption probe in Saudi Arabia. Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, one of the most senior Saudi royals detained in the kingdom’s corruption crackdown, has been released after reaching a settlement deal believed to exceed the equivalent of $1 billion, an official involved in the anti-graft campaign said. Prince Miteb, who headed the powerful National Guard until earlier this month, was released Tuesday, the official said on condition of anonymity in discussing matters under the supervision of the public prosecutor. At least three other suspects have also finalized settlement deals, the official said. It wasn’t immediately possible to reach Prince Miteb, son of the late King Abdullah, for comment. The public prosecutor has decided to release several individuals and will proceed with the prosecution of at least five others, the official said. The prosecutor has complete authority over the investigation, including whether to accept or reject any settlement proposal and whether to take any suspect to court, the official said. Prince Miteb’s release, less than a month since his arrest, shows the speed at which Saudi Arabia wants to settle the corruption probe that involved the sudden arrests of royals and billionaires such as Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. The crackdown has shaken the kingdom and reverberated across the world as analysts, bankers and diplomats assess its impact on power in the world’s biggest oil exporter. $100 Billion Settlement Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the kingdom’s predominant leader known as MBS, said the majority of those being detained had agreed to pay back some of the money they had gained illegally in exchange for their freedom. The prince said authorities could recover as much as $100 billion in settlements.\ ==============================================
