www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12854391Disgusting. I saw a young woman interviewed on CNN just after the demonstration. They were attacked by men who they stood shoulder to shoulder with just days before. They had such high hopes. This woman was called and warned to take an alternate route home. She was lucky.

Kind of a slight difference between saving one's self via abstention from sex and remaining a virgin... and sex out side of marriage being a prosecutable offense. I think even you can see the diffenece.... PS: I'd be up the river doing 50 years....

I'm not sure what your point is, ugo. Are you attempting to imply some sort of moral equivalence?
The virginity tests were a form of harassment designed to shame these young women into silence. They were told in the square where they went to celebrate a million woman march with other women around the world that they should go home where they belong.

Yes,Savoir,"even" I can see the difference. I just read the Alaskan piece before reading this post. How would Alaskan courts prosecute the case of a woman suspected of having sex before she was married? A virginity test perhaps?

I do not know and I could really care less. A physician can do an examination to see if the hymen is intact.

Please don't give the conservatives any ideas. Ha! More likely the liberals. They could add it to Obamacare and task the IRS with implementation. They'll be probing your business anyway.

If it wasn't for the leftist feminists we would still allow spousal rape. I wonder how many male conservatives took on that cause?

. California U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer is lambasting what she calls a Republican "vendetta" against Planned Parenthood, saying that efforts in the House Republicans' proposed budget to entirely defund the organization will impact millions. In California alone, hundreds of thousands of women, the Democratic Senator said, use the organization's "life-saving" services -- including cancer screenings, mammograms, day-to-day health care, OB-GYN services as well as contraception and family planning. Boxer made the statements this week at a San Francisco press conference, where we asked Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific President and CEO Heather Estes about the controversial question of the organization's providing of abortion services -- raised repeatedly by Republican conservatives as a rationale in slashing its funding. Here's her response to our own SFChronicle/SFGate.com Shaky Hand Productions -- and her advice on how Planned Parenthood supporters can make their voices heard about the GOP budget cuts: And here's some of Boxer's comments during her presser Wednesday on H.R. 1, the House Republicans' proposed budget. She said it would slash not only Planned Parenthood health care -- but cut funding for the Environmental Protection Agency and landmark environmental laws like the Clean Air Act, and eviscerate services for homeless veterans provided by organizations like Swords to Plowshares. Boxer brought along Hobert Lee, a Marine Corps veteran who has benefitted from a HUD-VA program for homeless vets, as well as Planned Parenthood client Healther Penman -- who got a life-saving cancer screening -- and Dr. David Cook of the U.C. Davis Medical Center, to bolster her arguments that the GOP budget contained drastic slashing of needed services. Republicans don't seem to balk at these kind of cuts, she told reporters, but they get "ferklempt,'' when there's talk of more taxes for millionaires and billionaires. Here's our Shaky Hand capture of her comments: Read more: www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05election/detail?entry_id=85680#ixzz1HeOVXs10www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05election/detail?entry_id=85680

Not out here in the San Francisco Bay area at least..haven't seen any hanging and the only rock throwing was at the National Guard Troops who returned from Iraq and marched down Market Street during the Veterans Day Parade...apparently GLAD, ACTUP, & CODE PINK were not too thrilled to see our troops coming home.

That's exactly right! Not to mention the left supports the treatment of women as property by fundamentalist Muslims, and they want American courts to uphold these Muslim mens' "rights" to rape and beat their wives and kill their daughters for "honor", all in the name of "religious tolerance"...

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 (King James Version) www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy+22%3A28-29&version=KJVIf a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; 29Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days. Here a man can rape a single woman as long as he pays up the father. Judges 19:24-25 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges+19&version=NIV23 The owner of the house went outside and said to them, “No, my friends, don’t be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don’t do this outrageous thing. 24 Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But as for this man, don’t do such an outrageous thing.” 25 But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. 26 At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight. Don't abuse men, but virgin daughters are okay to do what you want with. Are you a bad person for following these or a bad Christian for not following these? Well first prove they are rights by verse. Provide a link or it didn't happen. And if these "rights" contradict laws of the United States, then no. I wonder why the right is so supportive of child abuse? Proverbs 13:24 (King James Version) www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs+13%3A24&version=KJV24He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. This goes to show you how much you know about liberals. We really couldn't care less about someone else s business in the bedroom. That's a classic conservative obsession.

...Not sure what is you point about singling out my reply #20??
My intent in #20 was to try to warn my good friend Ed of the old saying "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" ...nothing more and nothing less..

post # 22 was reported for being off topic.. tenn's point is that it isn't off topic, at least no more than your post in #20 was PI.. and yet she didn't report that one..
regardless, posting off topic is not against the CoC.

Geez, do you ever think of your own hypocrisies before you post drivel like this? If your post above were any more shallow, I'd be walking on water.
