Literally the only thing left may be some folding tables and chairs I bought for an outdoor birthday party last Summer. One of my quirks is any place I live, I make sure there is always six cans of San Marzano tomatoes and six lbs of pasta in the pantry. My reasoning is that as long as those two things are present, you always have food in the house and won't starve. My mother actually told me to grab the canned tomatoes when I go by to pick up the tables and chairs. Her reasoning is that each can costs about $3.50, which isn't cheap, and since they are imperishable, I should grab them. Of all things to make sure you claim, grab the tomatoes.

Sorry about the breakup, but glad you've got dinner.

Lol! I think I'd just buy new tomatoes. That depends on the EXGF. She might just toss them, she might not like canned tomatoes in the pasta, so why let them go to waste! This is surely a question for ymer's to answer!

VB: Was just thinking about YM. A good YMer looking to earn their Platinum YM card would certainly rescue the canned tomatoes from the clutches of the EXGF. Shoot, he should take the pasta too (if he paid for it).

Depends on how the pantry is stocked where you moved to - where are you living now?

I'm guessing the mismatched money personalities contributed.

This is surely a question for ymer's to answer! A *really good* YM'er wouldn't buy canned tomatoes at all. They would buy them in glass jars (or home-can them in mason jars) to avoid BPA and other hormone-disrupting chemicals in the can lining

Domestically grown San Marzano tomatoes do not taste the same (unless someone around Mt. St. Helen has started cultivating them). Sometimes, you just gotta have the good stuff, even if it comes in cans.

During his divorce from the first stepmother my father listed the board footage for lumber, nails etc because he didn't want the ex to get any value from his work to make the furniture, just the rough materials.
That really isnt relatable here, don't know why I thought of it, should probably be in the other thread.
Anyway, I'd leave her a jar and take the rest.

From what I read about the poor guy she probably stripped him of money, clothes, furnishings, and everything. He is lucky to get away with anything. LOL!
I wouldn't have put up with that spending for a few months, let alone years. Like wow!

This thread has led me to buy San Marzano tomato seeds for my mom...
As far as the break-up, all the hounding kind of reminds me of a guy I used to work with. I was hired with a group of 14 other people. We took most of our classes together, worked together, etc. I became pretty good friends (just friends) with one of the guys in the group, since we had pretty matched skill levels and study habits. The guy everyone reminds me of demanded to know what was going on with me and friend-- "We were here when you met, so we have a right to the relationship." Seriously.

But we're ym! Making up reasons and then judging them is way less fun then bring able to judge the actual reason! 😝

I've never heard of San Marzan tomatoes, but I just googled them and they sound delicious. I would take 3 cans and leave her 3.

I think that depends on who is the cause of the breakup...I can assure you that I would have rather opened the 3 cans of tomatoes and let them rotting in the sink then leave them for my ex
