I had the same problem with my parents and I advised them I wouldn't visit unless the dog came with and then followed through on it. A year and a half later they relented. You must be so proud.

For starter's how about stop being a spineless manchild? Are there hormone injections for that? No, it's a really big blue pill.

Arch, remember that other thread, and talking about helping out more to relieve stress? This is probably one of those things, just for future reference. Next time, try to take care of the whole thing, so that she doesn't have to worry about it at all.

No, really. It is a tremendous accomplishment to force your parents to acquiesce to your selfishness. Kudos.

You have no idea of my family dynamic to make such a judgement but nice try slipping this in without quoting me so maybe I wouldn't see it. Judging by the posts you have made about your kid I'm sure glad I am not them.... cough, cough..... overbearing. And since you have to always include an emoji, I'll have the courtesy of returning you the same

I spend a lot of vacation time with my in-laws, but it's not bad. They own a lake house, so it's nice to be able to go there and have some extra hands to help out. We also go with them on some trips (maybe every other year) and it's not bad for the same reason. My parents live about 45 minutes away and it's hard for me to imagine staying there for a week though. I guess if your siblings also stay there (and they are coming in from out of town) and your parents happen to be close to some cool stuff, then maybe it's worth it. they are close to the water. Not walkable but a mile or two away. They built this big friggen retirement house specifically for all of us to be able to stay at, which is simultaneously nice and annoying. That's totally walkable. Walk it!

If you want to make your life easier, you can simply start boarding your dog from time to time. The dog will enjoy it and then you don't have to run around bothering people to watch your dog. But, that's up to you.

They were indoors but then i have photos of her romping around outside, playing in the doggie pool and the obstacles and playing with other dogs. They just aren't locked in cages for a week anymore. And the lady that runs this has the most clean facility and loves dogs.

They have video cameras in the play areas, so you can log into their website and watch your dog interacting with the other dogs. And if you don't see your dog, you can send them a message and they will put your dog in the play room, so you can see it. I log into their website, just to watch the dogs for a few minutes. I don't even care whose dogs they are! LOL
