I have a pattern cabinet full of them and since most of the stuff I have are classics and don't change that much, I really don't need to buy more. I must say I did though a couple of months ago, they had really good sales on them and I got quite a few. They had them for $.99 and vogues about $4, and I don't mind paying that amount. But I will not buy them for the insane full price. I will sew again, I just really don't need more clothes to be honest, just want them, if that makes sense.
I am anxious to get my steam generator iron, if you have ever had one they spoil you. They just don't last that long anymore, seems to be a common complaint. Been researching for a good one for days, hope this will be it.

I haven't wasted any money yet today. The stores aren't open yet, well except for service stations and I don't need gas. Some open at 8 but I'm not dressed yet so I may have to check in with you later.

Those prices look a lot better than the sticker price! I'm not a big spender on clothes- I live mostly in freebie T-shirts from athletic events. Last year I spent $300 and that included a pair of sandals! This year I'm up to $400 YTD and that's a new post-retirement high; I found a company that makes clothing in the US (Amour Vert) and I really love the two items I've bought so far.

I like their clothes too but should note that their sweaters are made in China. But everything else is made in USA unless they have changed that also. I found them a while back when looking for USA made things.

I bought last year and year before a lot of sportswear type clothing for summer from Pennys, its athletic wear, fits nice, washes and dries easily no ironing, and is comfortable. I'm still wearing it. But like I said I really don't need clothes. I have spent a lot more then that on clothing!

Those are nice clothing styles, very easy to sew. Sorry I have never paid $150 for a blouse or skirt, even when I worked, sure wouldn't now. I had lots of suits back then for less then that.

I found them a while back when looking for USA made things. Thanks- VERY good to know. I'm good with sweaters; I have a half-dozen cashmere ones that are over 20 years old but classic styles, plus some nice, big, comfy ones (not cashmere) that belonged to DH. I'm going to be really sad when the cashmeres wear out. Those are nice clothing styles, very easy to sew. Sorry I have never paid $150 for a blouse or skirt, even when I worked, sure wouldn't now. I had lots of suits back then for less then that. Then I won't tell you what I spent on the suits I had made by a tailor back when I was working! Also US- made. Classic styles so I can still wear them when I need to look respectable.

I bought mine over 20 years ago so would be way more in todays dollars. They were nice. But no I never had tailor made clothes by others. I like nice clothing, LandsEnd, LLBean, Ralph Lauren, Hilfiger, Jones of New York, Nygard slacks, and others, but all of them have sales. And most are not the quality they used to be. I suppose these are considered middle priced?? don't know. However, what I spend on shoes is something else, mainly because of my feet breaking down more and spreading and also special shoes and they don't last me long as I break them down. I have to order any, sometimes I can buy mens at a place like Academy. Because I can't wear what I really consider attractive and stylish shoes anymore its effected my wardrobe, used to be different. Everything is still color coordinated. But my shoes aren't always though I do have a ton of colors, I like my purse, watch, and other accessories to match also. Yeah, I'm an old lady that will put it together to go to the grocery store. I love watches, I have green, lavender, purple, just found a yellow one, orange, black, brown, blue, pink, and hot pink, white, and several floral ones, rose gold, gold, silver, you name it, I have no idea how many I have . I just spent $80 getting new batteries in several. A real weakness, always looking for something different.

Today was a spending palooza. Replacing a window in the kitchen, bought a robot vac/mop with rewards points, and the book "Hands are Not for Hitting" because 2 year old DS has decided he needs to hit 3 month old DD.

Ooo - let me know how the mopping works please. Do you have hardwood floors? I'm nervous on what kind of cleaner to use on mine.

TD left his phone at home today, so I took the opportunity to take his phone and mine to the Apple store to get the batteries replaced. $64 for both, I need to pick them up in an hour,

Expedited shipping. It was about 1/3 of what I saved with a coupon, but I hate paying for shipping.

Ooo - let me know how the mopping works please. Do you have hardwood floors? I'm nervous on what kind of cleaner to use on mine. It actually did better than I expected. I put white vinegar on the pad and sprayed spots around the floor. It didn't get them all up and it looks a bit streaky, but the pad picked up a lot of dirt and it definitely looks cleaner. I think it'll be good for light upkeep between deep cleaning. Right now it feels a bit like I've hired cleaners, I'm spending so much time picking stuff up. Nice motivation to keep the place cleaner anyway.

I had to go out and buy a new coffee grinder today. I went to grind coffee, and got less than a scoop before it croaked. The new, improved (and more expensive) model lasted 14 month.....2 months longer than the 1 year warranty.

On Saturday I took out a screen that had been badly damaged- looked like it got some holes because the sunlight caused it to deteriorate and then the squirrels finished it off since it's near a bird feeder. This is on a porch we paid a fortune to have enclosed as a 3-season room and they used plastic screening which is vulnerable to deterioration in the sun. The new screening will be aluminum. I had a heck of a time getting it to the hardware store- it was too big to fit into the car or the trunk and I tied it to the top of the car (and then had to climb in through the window because I'd essentially tied the car shut). The short drive into town was harrowing- I had to keep one hand on the screen because every breeze moved it and I realized the twine I'd used would have broken otherwise. And yes, I HAVE done DIY repairs on screens that had a plastic cord running around a track holding the screen in but this one wasn't made that way. I decided to let them figure it out. They're delivering it. I have no idea what they're charging to deliver it but the bottom line isn't bad and it's worth whatever they included for delivery.

The sprinkler system guy just left- I now have a sprinkler system I can control with my smartphone. (The sprinklers were already there; just switched out the controls.) I especially wanted it so I can control it when I travel, although in theory it will suppress sprinkling when it rains. I say "in theory" because I suspect it just checks the weather prediction and suppresses it if rain is predicted; not very useful if the prediction was wrong. He pleaded complete computer illiteracy- I got it set up and running after he did the mechanical bits. Easy-peasy.
I should save some money on unnecessary watering- I programmed it with a description of the extent of sunlight, gradient, vegetation, etc, in each zone and it calculated how much time to give each. In the meantime, the cost was $300.

Two plants for the yard. Didn't need them, but I didn't want them to die at the store. They were saying: Take me home, give me water... $3.65. Now I have to figure out where to plant them.

I have wasted so much money the past 6 weeks fixing the house up and buying things to send my son on a trip (a trip that was cancelled at the last minute ). I thought I was done bleeding, but went straight for the jugular by buying a clone of my van. I don't even get to enjoy the thrill of something "new". At least they can keep each other company.

Well, it's not what I wasted today- it's what I wasted the last 3 years. Our municipality requires an annual inspection of the backflow valve of our sprinkler system. This caught us by surprise when we moved here in July, 2015- hadn't owned a sprinkler system before. We immediately called the large plumbing firm that had done all the work for us in our previous house. They inspected it, it failed, we had a new one installed for beaucoup $$$. I had them do inspections in 2016 and 2017 since the valve had a 5-year warranty and I figure they wouldn't dare flunk it. When I had my new sprinkler controls installed, I asked the guy if he was certified to do the inspection. No, he said, but it ought to cost $50 or $60. I looked at my records. I paid Big Plumbing Company $265 last year. Today I had an inspection by a place I found on the Internet. It passed. It cost $50. Lesson learned. Get competitive bids for everything!

I bought a cd. Do you guys remember those in these days of streaming? It only cost $1.08, though. Best Buy sent me a $5 coupon (like a gift card) because of loyalty points I had accumulated. It was only good, though, until the end of August. I honestly didn't need anything right now. So I was going to check out their cheap movies, etc. They are eliminating cds entirely So I picked up a Moody Blues cd for $5.99.
