$24 on Fidget spinners for the girls I promised C I'd get him one soon. My mom came across a couple of these about a month ago, and gave one to my ODS and one to my nephew, who is very ADHD. ODS is pretty much over it already.

Yesterday I bought decorative soaps because they were on clearance. We have this random corner shelf in our bathroom doing nothing, so I want to have pretty soaps and lotions sitting there doing nothing. Friday I bought a bunch of Reece's cups at work because we are changing out snack vendors and the old vendor discounted the remaining stock 30%. I had to help them out.

DH and I joked that we could pick them up for $1 at garage sales next summer. The girls tried making their own from a you-tube video, and it didn't work. I know I'm supposed to be a good YMer and not buy the kids crap. But. The peanut only got one toy for her birthday. A barbie with a dog that poops. (from the ILs.) We also returned her Santa gift from Christmas because she refused to play with it. So, from us, since December she's gotten two new toys.

yesterday, bananas... because apparently you can't leave them in a hot car for 5 hours or the skin will burn. The insides seem okay so I guess I won't throw them out.
Today, hopefully nothing. I need to start pinching pennies.

I bought some towels and pillows on sale through the Today Show. They have the Jill's Deals and Steals every day this week and I'm buying stuff for either birthday or Christmas presents. Well...the pillows will go out on my deck furniture.

Candy. Friday is youngest son's last day in baking camp and he really wants to win the Cake War. He believes the selection of candy they'll offer will not be sufficient to properly decorate his masterpiece, so wants to bring his own stash. Pictures, please. This is so much fun. Sounds like he's enjoying the experience. I wish there had been interesting activities like this (and space camp) available when I was a kid.

YDS has recently started cooking more exotic dishes for himself and roommates. Although, I included the kids while I cooked, I thought he did not have an interest. I guess he learned through modeling me.

Kids...as usual. I bought older son a cheap air mattress with a built in pump for his band trip this weekend. They sleep in a gym for 3 nights and he claims the camping pad wasn't cutting it, plus of course, all the other kids had the comfy ones. Can't say as I blame him though. After all that marching and time on the bus, sleeping on a 1 inch thick pad on cement sounds rather unpleasant.
Then picked up a sweatshirt for Carrot from the Salvation Army for $4 because his Dad thinks he needs one for their trip...to a waterpark. He has like 10 sweatshirts and/or jackets at home, but I was already in town and they were leaving this morning.

My son is getting married on Saturday. They are paying for the wedding themselves, but somehow we are spending a lot of money. Wedding is in Miami where my parents live. YDS just started his first real job on Monday so we are paying his expenses also. Expenses: Dress for me $200 Tux for DH and YDS $500 Gas and food for DH and I $200 Plane trip for YDS $400 Decorations and food for rehearsal dinner. $600 At least we get free lodging at My parents. And a super nice DIL. Score!!! I have one of those (soon to be two) and let me tell you you come out on top here!

Junk food. DS drove me to the store because we needed bread, milk and cereal. I decided that I am still not up to cooking, so I bought him some chips, pizzas, chicken nuggets and corn dogs.
Now he can cook simple things, quesadillas, scrambled eggs, mac and cheese, etc. He's eating me out of house and home this summer plus football practice makes him eat even more.

Susie, I always wondered how teenage boys could eat so much! YDS would eat a meal worth of snacks after dinner and still be hungry.

A new backpack during the REI sale a few weeks ago.
My old backpack was about 13 years old. It's in good shape; I only used it about 10 times until the John Muir Trail hike last year.
The new pack is the same model as the old but so much lighter.
My backpacking friends couldn't believe I gave away my backpack that has JMT cred! Lol, I don't need anymore extra cr*p in my garage and it went to a friend who will be backpacking with her daughter.

Oh, and the batter for the cake and cupcakes is fairly bright blue... Now that you've seen my son's color choices, you might guess why I'm not chiming in on the "who else wears black" thread. When he has to wear black pants for a band performance, we actually have to go buy him some. None of us really have black clothing other than a few odd pieces like a free t-shirt we got at a regatta.

I spent $12 on two mugs that you put in the freezer. It is so hot some days that a beer won't stay cold long enough to drink it. We have these! They work really well. We use them out at the property all the time. But when they roll out of the freezer they smash easily so get the good ones with the thicker acrylic/resin.

I just got myself dinner. A curry chicken wrap, Robinade, and a 7 layer bar.
It's like the feast of food I either can't have at home or I'm lucky to get a sip/bite of.
But, I did pack extra for our GS trip to Chicago so I don't have to buy dinner for myself at Shedd's, just for DD1. I think it will all even out.

A bunch of stuff that's been sitting in my cart at Amazon.com. I don't really *need* any of them, but I've wanted all of them for a while now.
3 cookbooks (like I need any more ), heat protector strips/bumper pads for the front edges of my oven racks, and some colorful flag/party bunting banners for the back patio. I finally just decided to click on the "place your order" button in the 1-click ordering section.
They make it way too easy

I think I will win this one. I spontaneously bought a bunch of fairy garden items: 3 small houses, 3 fairies, animals and lots of accessories. I have 3 little girls who play outside a lot and I just couldn't resist. i err, I mean we are setting up something like this.

Shrimp.
TD informed me this morning as he was walking out the door that we were invited to a party tonight and we needed to bring something. And BTW, can I pick up Costco beer too? So bright and early, I'm at Costco buying beer and shrimp. 4 lbs of shrimp, to make grilled shrimp cocktail.
I rush home, get the shrimp cleaned and marinating, make the cocktail sauce and get a text that the party isn't until Sat.
I now have 4 lbs of grilled shrimp, way more than we can eat!

I'm calling this one "not a waste", but damn, the spending spree continued! My son is taking the summer off of college, so he is just working weekends. I get a lot of weekday time off now, so I booked five days/four nights in Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, along with tickets for five different plays (however, there was only one ticket left for Henry IV, part two, so I will only get to see part 1, unless someone cancels/exchanges their ticket and I manage to snag it). The hotel is within walking distance, so should be able to park the car all week. Room and tickets alone came to almost $1500, but I may not have many more opportunities to do this with the kid. Last night, after the other purchases, I got online and bought some glass food containers and glass bottles. And some more fabric. And then some other more fabric... But, it will all get used, and now that I finally have a dishwasher I want to quit using all the containers I have to wash by hand. I need to go back to work tomorrow so I quit spending money

That's me and weekends. I tend not to go out during the week due to my fabulous hours but when Saturday rolls around? Watch out for melting plastic! This week I will be looking at fitbits and Garmin thingies while I still decide on that ring. I really want that ring.

I'm sleeping on a new desktop computer. It will be calling to me from its current spot in my Amazon cart - along with about a dozen other things I can't even remember at the moment. I think there's a new fondue pot in there. Retirement has proven to drive me to spending sprees!
