Foreign MREs (French, Russian, Polish, Lithuanian). Just because.
I worked an unexpected day of OT yesterday, and since my budget was done for the month, I decided to blow about half on complete wants (I also bought some fabric, some-- Jack Skellington--I'd been looking for for over a year). My son likes MREs, so I figured these would be fun to try. Although, I think it may be cheaper to fly to Poland, find a surplus store, buy some and mail them home. Oh well. I was responsible with half and put it toward the future house. I also picked up five more OT days (12 hour shifts) over the next two months, so I'll have more chances to be more responsible.
What have you blown money on recently?

Boat parts. Got a new boat and although it has perfectly functional stuff on it, it's not quite what I want, so I'm tweaking things.
But then again, those tweaks were part of why my last boat was so fast and sold immediately and at a big premium over what the others of similar age/type sold for, so I guess I'm not the only one who likes the go-fast stuff...

I spent $250 on a duvet cover for a new bed I don't have yet to be placed in a room that is still undecorated in a house that is in midst of the chaos of decluttering and reducing extraneous crap.
It was pretty. I liked it.

I spent 34$ on fermentation lids so that i can try making sauerkraut again, this time in large mouth jars... we shall see... What kind of lids? When I made sauerkraut (at an Extension Office class), we just covered the top of the kraut with a whole cabbage leaf, covered with brine, and then left the lid loose and it worked fine (kept the jar on a plate because it did release some juice). I bought Peter's Pickle airlock thingys after that, and use them often to make kvas and ginger ale. When my son made kimchi, I didn't want any chance of the smell lingering, so we cut a plastic lid (from a sour cream container) and poked holes in it, then pushed it down on top of the stuff. I've never tried the type with the glass water air lock though.

That is pretty. I'd be more tempted if it had a dragon though (must resist looking up dragon rings!)

I spent $59 on a Thinkitchen Nitro Blender. It was featuredon the Today Show Jill's Steals and Deals. Totally don't need it but I wanted it to replace the 20 yo one I have.

I was just looking at that one! We didn't get mold on the kraut, but were told that if we did, you just scoop it out and let it rebalance itself. We live in a very dry climate though (well, at least in summer), so that may have helped.

To answer the OP, bought my kids happy meals for dinner (I know, I know-- busy day/cranky kids), and they didn't even have the beanie boos any more. Total waste $$

My son is getting married on Saturday. They are paying for the wedding themselves, but somehow we are spending a lot of money. Wedding is in Miami where my parents live. YDS just started his first real job on Monday so we are paying his expenses also. Expenses:
Dress for me $200 Tux for DH and YDS $500 Gas and food for DH and I $200 Plane trip for YDS $400 Decorations and food for rehearsal dinner. $600
At least we get free lodging at My parents. And a super nice DIL.

Total waste $$ I took DD to McDonald's for dinner tonight too. She got a Happy Meal, and they had the Beanie Babies toy. FWIW, we went a week or 2 ago, and they were out of the Beanie Babies toy, but they had the Smurfs instead.

"Meals Ready to Eat" (just like our military people get, but different). So, mostly freeze dried and canned food, but my son loves them for something different. The French one has deer pate and canned cheese, but is supposed to be one of the best in the world. I love just browsing through "ethnic" stores and picking out new things to try. I recently bought canned squid for DS. Turns out it is one squid, stuffed in a can, with soy sauce. He's going to look up a recipe and see how he wants to try it. We're weird, lol.

An RV. It's perfect for us and has everything we want but it's costing us thousands. And then there's the insurance, generator, and all the accoutrements that go with RVing/towing/boon docking. But Yay!!! we have our hillbilly lake house! TBD if it's money wasted or not.

I spent $30+ on a fan, the tall skinny rotating kind to replace a working box fan.
Dh wants a travel trailer. So I guess this weekend we're going to check some out. We have vacant land on a river 4 hours from home. We'd leave it there for summer instead of tent camping. It would make the land much easier to use.

I spent $12 on two mugs that you put in the freezer. It is so hot some days that a beer won't stay cold long enough to drink it.

Candy. Friday is youngest son's last day in baking camp and he really wants to win the Cake War. He believes the selection of candy they'll offer will not be sufficient to properly decorate his masterpiece, so wants to bring his own stash.
