Corporate tax rates have nothing to do with the rate corporations actually PAY... and Obama has said he is open to keeping lowering rates, as long as loopholes are closed (kind of like reagan did )... This is silly; of course corporate tax rates effect what corporations pay in taxes. The problem is the politically connected get all the deductions and credits, and the not so politically collected get stuck paying the high rate. What is likely going to happen is that loop holes will be close, tax rates will lower some insignificant amount and drive more businesses completely out of the US The problem with our 10,000 +/- pages of tax code is that it is itself corruption, and invites still more corruption. It's not unlike thousands of pages of traffic law. We can be held accountable for the obvious rules that are clear, and easy to enforce like obeying traffic signals and the speed limit. Or, if the officer is in a 'foul mood' we can be cited for a broken tail light, misaligned headlamps, window tint, seat belts, and myriad other "ticky tack" things. The law shouldn't have anything to do with who you are or what kind of "mood" law enforcement is in. When it does, the law itself is unlawful.
