Glad you liked it. If you used two cups of water then it should have been 'thick'. If there are leftovers, and consumed the following day, it will be on the thin side. That happened to me so I added a bit of instant potatoes to thicken it up. I imagine that is the thickener in the soup in the first place. Not sure? I didn't bring a measuring cup to the room. I filled the coffee pot to the "3" line. Either way, it worked and you enjoyed it. That's all that matters.

Made the soup Tennesseer recommended on page 1 last night! IDK if it was because I didn't use enough water, but it was really thick and yummy. DH ate 3 servings! I warmed water in the coffee maker, whisked the soup and water in a large Rubbermaid container, and microwaved for 5 minutes and let stand for 5. We topped it off with leftover shredded cheese from last week's soft tacos. Another tip for hotel dwelling: On laundry day, use a backpack to hold detergent, softener, etc. It's also good if you happen to visit the vending machine. A baggie in a side pocket holds quarters and your room key. I use(d) those laundry pods from Costco. Put some in a small container (just about counted them out) and then only took the number I needed for the number of loads. Saves schlepping big boxes/bottles of detergent and storage thereof.
ETA: I did the same with dryer sheets: put what I need in a ziplock bag and the rest went with all my stuff. Yes - I have been known to move things like detergent etc. especially when we had a company sponsored move and I ran out of time getting rid of all that stuff. xH would supervise packing while I did the unpacking and that is when I would discover what all I had moved

dee27, our new closing date is May 26th, originally scheduled for the 16th. I'm finding the little touches are most welcome in this situation. Crackers for the top of soup, sunflower seeds or shredded cheese for salad or soup, honey for tea, etc. Today I am thankful I packed my entire HBA cupboard (except for a small stockpile I didn't get to before we packed up). I gave myself a pedicure and used my favorite face stuff. Tonight is pizza and laundry night.

The one thing I do not like about living in a motel is the dim lighting. I admire your ability to adapt, Iggy.

10 more days of hotel room living, barring any unforeseen changes with the appraisal, etc. I am trying to stay sane by looking at online pictures of our new home, and planning on what room will be used for what, etc. DH and I ordered a new couch (very difficult to find one w/o built in recliners!) for the upstairs living space. It really helps when you and your partner have similar tastes. We also bought a few side tables in the ding and dent room. The downstairs living space will be our "lounge". Our current big ass, heavy because of the recliners, L shaped couch will be parked there. This was DH's idea because it will be easier to pull the trailer up near the walk-out basement door and move these pieces in. Oh, and DH agreed to pay people to help us move in. Tick tock, and closing day cannot come quicker...

The appraisal is in and looks good! Next our file goes back to underwriting, and then on for loan approval.

I hope you didn't make the soup following my directions I might have posted here. I think I told you two cups of water. The directions I read the other night said 4 cups. I hope you didn't just boil the water, stir in the mix, and then take the pot of the 'stove' and let it rest for five minutes like I think I told you to do. The directions I read said to simmer the soup mix for five minutes and THEN let it rest for five minutes. If you followed my directions here, I apologize.

I read the directions on the envelope as 3 cups (though, who knows considering my middle aged eyes, LOL)? I measured to "3" on the coffee maker, heated the water through, whisked the soup and hot water in a large plastic container, microwaved for 5, and let sit for 5. Though thick, it was still yummy and DH approved.

When using the hotel laundry, or any other laundry room, be sure and check the dryer for stray pens. Ask me why I say this....

So Iggy, have you moved in by this time?
Now, what about landscaping? When I divide plants I often have extras that I give away. I've shipped plants all over the country from N.H. to Ca. & from Wi. to Fl. to S. Tx. Any time you are ready send me a pm & I can let you know what I may have available or what I've started from cuttings in my garden house & will be ready later in the year or next spring.

Thank you for asking, kadee79! I've been complaining biotching venting posting over on the "Another I'm Selling My House" thread. Bottom line: We're going to the final walk through in about an hour, and sign closing documents tomorrow morning. Landscaping: What 'cha got? We are high desert here, and the new house is at approx 6,300 feet. The sellers own a landscaping business, and have done a really good job on the land. It is 40 acres of natural pinyon and sage, and there are 3 raised gardening beds near the house. We're moving in just in time for planting season at this elevation. Oh, and there are exterior two water features-one containing Koi.

It is 40 acres of natural pinyon and sage, and there are 3 raised gardening beds near the house. We're moving in just in time for planting season at this elevation. Oh, and there are exterior two water features-one containing Koi. Right now I don't have a lot. I've got some double, orange day lilies and I just potted up some either red or gold honeysuckle today that I pulled out. Some branches had touched the ground long enough that they had rooted. That would need something to climb on but it doesn't go crazy like the wild, white/yellow Asian honeysuckle. I have a friend in St. Geo., Utah and I've sent her some plants. If I divide my red hot pokers later I'll let you know cause they are really drought tolerant and can withstand nearly all temps. If you are going to do veggies, are you going to go organic? If so, I have a site for an organic message board and there are 2 members there that have conditions very close to you...one in Utah & one in N.M.! The guy in Utah has a HUGE garden every year...and I'm not sure on my memory, but I'm thinking he is like close to 8000' elevation, I could be way off on that. There are a couple of places for mail order I can recommend to you....High Country Gardens and Territorial Seed Co., both are great for both plants & seeds! Note for VB...it's a 'thing' with us old gardeners, we share whenever possible. That's how I got most of the plants in my yard. Mine have come from Ca., Mo., Ok., Tx., N.H., Tenn., Ill., Ohio, Fl., S.C. & N.C., Al., Ws. & Ind. There may be more, but those are off the top of my head. And a lot of other things in my yard have come from Lowes markdown racks. I'm also a scavenger and dig up things along country roads...like wisteria, crape myrtle & wild glads.
