I bought 5 skeins of cashmere yarn in a color I don't wear, just to pet it!  I found it yesterday, and realize it was just too expensive to pet, I REALLY need to do something with it.

I took a spinning class, and the instructor had samples of all sorts of fibers.

I'd go to class early, just to fondle. I told the teacher I'd love to take a bath in the fiber. Thankfully, she did not think i was nuts.

I'd love to make sweaters for myself. I cannot find the style I like in the stores anymore. But, I cannot justify the price of what good yarn would cost for my size.

Right now, I want to throw money at someone to do all of our weeding. We had a mild winter and weeds have gone nuts! I can't quite squat yet (surgery seven weeks ago), so I can't do it all. My former neighbor's husband planted bamboo 4 decades ago, and that nasty plant is till going strong. Bamboo is very a hard to eradicate.

I would adopt a bunch of shelter dogs and hire people to help me take care of them.

Thinking about the robot thread and also dogs led me to wonder whether anything is being done to develop a robot that can perform the same function as explosive-detection dogs and other military dogs. If someone is working on that, I would fund the project. If no one is working on that, I would see if enough money would get someone interested in working on it. It would be lovely if no dog ever had to go to war again. People are probably always going get themselves into stupid, destructive conflicts, but dogs shouldn't have to be dragged into situations they had no part in starting.

I would buy some goats.  I like goats.  They're friendly.  I would also hire people to take care of them because I'm lazy.

I'd probably get some new sneakers.

Would like a new, nicer motorhome, not one of the giants but a new one.

Hire a driver as I'm getting old, could take DD and I places too.

Add a servants quarters and have a housekeeper/cook so we could continue

living here and a groundskeeper later.

Make sure grandson had college paid for and a trust fund for he and son and

family.  Make sure DD was taken care of for life.

Hubby might start a construction company, not sure what he would want to do.

I would like a winter home in Florida and like to travel around the world. Take

one of those around the world cruises, maybe on my own yacht, would like to

see more of the world. I definitely would want to go to the moon or Mars and if

I had enough money could help establish a colony there.  Would I want to live

there, not sure, but at my age would have to be quicker transport then we have

now.  LOL!

Then would help totally renovate the little town where we live, new water and

sewer systems. New houses or duplexes for the elderly and poor, add a service

station/convenience store, grocery, a mini walmart type of place. Put in a

school for the kids with excellent teachers and provide a college education for

them if I could and make sure everyone in town would have health care. Would

probably have to fight people off to keep them from moving in. So would have to

screen for druggies and stuff.

This place also has the potential for being a great tourist attraction with fishing

and the river and places for an RV and camp ground, some historical buildings,

it could really be something.  But the main people here are wealthy and don't

want their control disturbed so not much you can do now.  With enough money

you could solve that.

Honestly otherwise don't need or want that much, have everything we need and

most of what we want and don't have debt so its better with more, of course,

but we are just fine the way we are.

And if I could only do a portion, this would be it:

I'd buy a house right on the beach of somewhere beautiful & tropical.  And, if a hurricane takes it down, no problem, since I'm scary-rich, I'd just build another house.  


Having my own helicopter with a landing pad by my house would be awesome too.


And, the best thing I'd like to do is, build a research hospital where the best & brightest minds could go to battle the toughest diseases & disabilities.  And, if insurance won't pay for treatment, no problem.  I'd pick up the bill.

The south and me do not get along.  I do not like heat/humidity at all.  I can deal with the cold and I don't even mind the snow.  I just hate keeping everything cleared, especially since we live where blowing/drifting is really bad.  I have a long driveway, and then I have to shovel out to the pastures to get the critters in and out.  I can spend hours getting it all pristine in the evening then wake up to waist deep drifts again.

Update insulation to make it a comfortable home.

Have a couple of lands-keepers to keep the many acres in tip-top condition.

Hey, you don't need a dome retractable or not: stupid rich means you can have that work hired out → you get to enjoy the snow without any of the drawbacks. Heck, you could even buy a snowplow and hire someone to drive it in front of you whenever you want to go out on the road during winter

I like the snow and cool weather, too, MPL.  Must be the result of being born on Owatonna and living in various parts of MN for nearly 30 years.  But, winter on the east slope of the Sierra's is way better than MN.  There has been about 54 feet of snow this year at the next town west of here.  We've had enough snow to use a shovel a couple of times.  But, here, snow usually stays on the ground for just a couple of days.  My driveway is clear and the grass is greening up even though it is snowing a few miles west of here right now.  I enjoy seeing the snow a lot more than shoveling it.

You can buy a castle right here in Quebec, with no need to refurbish it.
