DH and I are both a little picky when it comes to canned tuna. We only like whole white albacore in water. One of our neighbors called us earlier to tell us Dollar General had it on sale for $1.95 for 3 cans. The "normal" sale price around here is $1.25 for one can. DH just bought everything they had on the shelf! I now have 39 more cans of tuna! We both like tuna salad, so I'll make that more often since my tuna total is about 50 cans at the moment. I usually use 6-8 cans when making it. I also have a pretty good tuna casserole recipe, but that will get old quickly. The expiration date is 2019, so there's plenty of time to use it, but I'm uncomfortable having that many cans on the shelf! Any ideas or recipe links? Or actual recipes I could use?

You took ALL the tuna, without leaving some for anyone else?

Don't worry about buying all the tuna if you were at all, they'll easily restock.

No ideas.
Post just reminds my of my college roommate who had no clue about cooking. She bought a can of tuna and put it in the fridge ( ummm it was on the shelf at the store). Then insisted she had to eat it the next day because "it's fish it will spoil".
Looks like you have more sense than that!

Oh, we'll do tuna sandwiches! LOL We both love my tuna but I was thinking it would be a good time to try some new ideas as well since we have a surplus.

You took ALL the tuna, without leaving some for anyone else? Why, yes! He bought all the tuna. Why not? If there's not any back in the stock room, other customers can get a rain check. It's not like anyone shopping at Aldi's left me any of the $1.49 per pound ground beef a couple weeks ago. If the store is out of stock, you can usually get a rain check around here.

It's every shopper for themselves. It's on the shelf FOR SALE. I've bought all of a certain item before since I had a hard time finding it. Stores have the option to limit quantiles sold and this was not the case. You are a good YM're.

Think I might have to see if they have the same sale and REALLY stock up as Tennesser's link had some good looking recipes!

When making tuna salad, use carrots (shredded or chopped up in the food processor) instead of celery for variety.

Mix with light mayo, sweet relish and canned mushrooms. Mom always made tuna salad with relish and I wasn't a fan. She used chunk tuna, though. I've never made it with relish using whole. Might need to try that!

I like tuna inside an avocado with honey mustard dressing. Another good idea! And I have an avocado that needs to be used.
