Maine is so far left Liberal that several of their restaurants have signs when you enter "Please No Republican or Conservatives Allowed Because Their Political Views Are Not Welcomed In This State"...
That is why the Bushes don't go out much when they vacation in Maine

Let me double check with my unreliable sources to make sure I am not misleading anyone here..
I know if you get lost driving down Maine and ask for directions from a Deminmaine he or she will ask you if you are a republican. And if you say "yes "..they will tell you to go to hell . But if you say you are a liberal they will just say "down the road a piece.." I think the only time you will get the right directions is if you are far out in left field liberal ...just saying.

haha, warsaw!
RDT, if I were to get lost where - Downeast or up in the woods? there are voters in both places. I've found that the more remote you go, the more viciously conservative you encounter, both socially and financially. yes, there are very progressive minds in Portland and along the coast, but there are some very old-fashioned people with quite conservative social ideas when you move inland.
and when I say remote, I mean some of those numbered townships along Airport Rd between Bangor/St Stephen, NB, or up on the way to Baxter State Park, or other similarly out-there places that don't get too many visitors. just because Deminmaine has his head screwed on straight doesn't mean everyone in the state does.

You are a left moderate social libertarian. Left: 4.69, Libertarian: 1.75
All the tests put me in the same general "neighborhood". On one, I show up somewhere between Ghandi and the Dalai Lama. Not too bad, from my standpoint, as I admire both these individuals.

I like these tests actually thanks for putting it up.. think I missed the purpose of the second one..that wasn't a actual test asking for input correct? Just telling us their ideas of ? Did I miss something there? My results similer to what I feel ..the moderate to the left thing. "center left moderate social libertarian" Libertarian? I always feel that group while interesting ideas some times , unrealistic and impracticle and never to come about so dismiss them. Left 2.58 Li 2.63 went back to look at #2..Ghandi, Dali Lama near where I was rated..ok, will take that...saw George and I are NOT on the same wave length..had a feeling there, now a definite. That's a good thing.

hmmm-- I don't like your 1st survey. It puts me as disaffected, says I care little about following news, support welfare, other things that sound nothing like me.

Enterpriser Based on your answers to the questionnaire, you most closely resemble survey respondents within the Enterpriser typology group. This does not mean that you necessarily fit every group characteristic or agree with the group on all issues.
Enterprisers represent 9 percent of the American public, and 10 percent of registered voters.
Basic Description As in previous studies conducted in 1987, 1994 and 1999, this extremely partisan Republican group’s politics are driven by a belief in the free enterprise system and social values that reflect a conservative agenda. Enterprisers are also the strongest backers of an assertive foreign policy, which includes nearly unanimous support for the war in Iraq and strong support for such anti-terrorism efforts as the Patriot Act.
Defining Values Assertive on foreign policy and patriotic; anti-regulation and pro-business; very little support for government help to the poor; strong belief that individuals are responsible for their own well being. Conservative on social issues such as gay marriage, but not much more religious than the nation as a whole. Very satisfied with personal financial situation.
Who They Are Predominantly white (91%), male (76%) and financially well-off (62% have household incomes of at least $50,000, compared with 40% nationwide). Nearly half (46%) have a college degree, and 77% are married. Nearly a quarter (23%) are themselves military veterans. Only 10% are under age 30.
Lifestyle Notes 59% report having a gun in their homes; 53% trade stocks and bonds in the stock market, and 30% are small business owners – all of which are the highest percentages among typology groups. 48% attend church weekly; 36% attend bible study or prayer group meetings.
Party ID 81% Republican, 18% Independent/No Preference, 1% Democrat (98% Rep/LeanRep)

Well according to this I for the most part fit comfortably in the Enterpriser group. Except for supporting the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Although I do strongly support the troops doing what their country ask of them. I blame the political establishment for that boon doggle.

I think the most recent NES shows that most folks, in the real world, are in the middle. Centrists, moderates, etc.
