My dog buddy is so smart! Especially when there is the likelihood of there being a cookie in it for her.
Her mom has been ordering groceries for pickup, and she picks up my groceries as well. (I am considered high risk for dying if I contract the plague, so I basically stay home (and my dog buddy's family has adopted me since I don't have any family and their dog likes me). My dog buddy has learned that when Mom comes home with bags of food in her car, that means she's coming to my house very soon, and the dog always has to come along to supervise (and get the treat I always have in my pocket for her). Now when her mom comes home and starts unloading grocery bags, the dog goes to the corner of her yard where she can see my house and her house and waits for her mom to come out to bring me my groceries. She's so funny.

we just moved in from the deck because it was too dark to keep reading. I climbed up onto the chaise piece of the couch and before I picked up my book, these two were in my lap. ❤🐾

believe it or not, that's a $5 Kohl's stuffie. you know the racks that they put up near the registers? I've picked up a handful of those toys over the years, they hold up pretty well.

I wish I could buy cute little toys like that for the twins. Jackson would do fine. However Miss Thing makes it her personal mission to see how fast she can get to the center of any toy. The only "toys" we have are tennis balls and kongs or actual bones filled with meat or cheese flavored filling. Those have even snapped after a while and they're pretty indestructible.

I brought the 50' leads to the park today, the goobers are tied off to a nice shady tree. LD lost about half his freedom for being a jackass toward a handful of pups being walked near us, I tied a nice mariner's knot to keep him closer. he will learn, someday. 🙄

they had a blast. well, except when LD was straining at the lead, barking at any other dogs walking by. he actually chewed thru the blue lead on the golden as I was packing up the car. someone called my attention, I turned around to see her trotting toward me, well past the range they'd had. little fucker. he's going to be limited to the leash length until the new lead comes in. that park is so peaceful, it is keeping me sane while I'm here.

My pup just freaks out when one or both of my kids comes home from college — the love just pours out of their bodies. ❤️

Tonight had some rough spots, advice is appreciated, ty. LD has never done well with fireworks, and my July electric bill has basically matched the rest of the year as I basically would close my windows and crank the AC. close the drapes as needed, and rely on the noise from the AC.
there is no AC in the rental. it didn't hit me until today what that meant for fireworks, when some neighbor lit something off. Im going to call the vet Monday, vet he hasn't seen yet bc COVID, but 🤷♀️ I'm staring at a Benadryl dose on the couch next to me that he wouldn't take bc it was just the pill. goung to pull some cheese slices to make sure he sleeps okay.

What do you do with him when there is a thunderstorm? Do that. Honestly, Macy is the same. I've always just kept her in the house with the tv going. When it's time to go outside I go with her so she has me there for security. This I'm boarding them. It will be so much easier.

there hasn't been a nasty T-storm at the new place yet. i used to close all the windows and put the AC on. close the drapes if i needed to. I can't do that here, we would all die.

well, we are heading to the vet this afternoon....for the golden. she started limping again yesterday after our errands circuit and by the time we went to bed last night, she wasn't putting that paw down at all. I almost had to carry her outside to do her business, she sniffed around before flopping in the grass and actually growled at me when I tried to pick her up. she hasn't been out yet today, refuses to move and is laying on the kitchen floor. I called yesterday to make an appointment while she was still just limping, and they were able to squish us in this afternoon because of a cancellation. I'm glad I called when I did, because the next open spot wasn't til Monday. I'm scared of what they will tell me after seeing her.

Is there something inside the paw? Did she maybe step on something? Bear mysteriously had part of the pad on one of his feet come of recently. Did that maybe happen? If she was otherwise normal before this, I wouldn't worry that much. It sucks that she's in pain, but I wouldn't think it would be anything life threatening.

nothing in her paw. when she was limping a few weeks ago, M and I did a full check. it feels like a ligament on the hurt leg is a lot looser than the other back leg. meds and rest seemed to help back then, but she wasn't refusing to move.
I just hope I can get her in the car later.

thanks. we are having a low key week/end and go back on Monday for a sedated X-ray/orthopedic exam. she came home with anti-inflammatory meds like the last time we went in, except the dose is twice as high this time. so she is walking around a little stoned, not putting weight on that leg. she inhaled her own PB Kong and swiped her brother's off the floor where he had left it. vet thinks it might be a ligament tear, but couldn't say for sure without the X-ray. hopefully surgery isn't needed.
