Pseudomembranous (SOO-doe-mem-bruh-nus) colitis, also called antibiotic-associated colitis or C. difficile colitis, is inflammation of the colon associated with an overgrowth of the bacterium Clostridium difficile (C. diff). This overgrowth of C. difficile is most often related to recent antibiotic use. -Mayo clinic Is that "C Diff" that often requires a poop transplant to cure? The very same, but it's not often. It's only for recurring cases of C.diff. |

We have a good friend who experienced that nightmare. I am hopeful that a minimal application twice daily along the suture line will not create a reaction of any sort. Ironically, all the previous surgeries did not involve antibiotics, only Vaseline applied to keep the exterior incision moist so it could heal from the inside. Different docs-different strokes. |
