chiver78 Confused now as to what that leaves you after making those payments? Are any of the cards paid in full? Is there still a balance on #4? Is unlisted card paid in full? What is your next highest rate? I think there is another portion on one of the cards that expires first? That would be my focus if it is the highest rate. Set it up and transfer....save some interest by paying it now. Maybe make yourself a chart...columns for current balance, credit limit, interest rate, monthly payment. That will help you see what your snowball will be. Also, instead of extra a whole bunch of different payments. Make the minimum and focus all extra to your snowball. You will see a card disappear quicker that way. I have a snowball calculator if you would like it, message me your email address and I will send it. It is in Excel. Teachermom

Doesn't everyone use this button like I do ? This button >> << 5th one over, third set. I use this, and then quote my most recent past post and adjust the numbers to reflect the update. But, as you know, I don't know how to add, move, or delete columns and rows. So sometimes I have to start over. Advise? Sorry if this was already answered (I'm still catching up!), but if you have your chart, and then you right click on it with you mouse, it will give you options to add, move, delete columns or rows.

Well crap! Wish I would have known this two weeks ago when I added the computer line item. I ended up redoing the entire thing. I considered just adding it to another goal because it was such a PIA.

Our home mortgage monthly payment changed from $1681.80 to $1672.89, a difference of $8.91 per month. Rather then forget about that $8.91 savings per month, I have set up a new automatic deposit for the same date that we pay our mortgage, to pull $10 from checking to savings! That's an extra $120 in savings with no changes to our cash flow!
We took our 2016 Weekly Challenge Money to the casino this weekend for a little trip away. We brought nearly all of it back with us and added it into our regular savings accounts (where it is more "no touchy"). Probably won't be putting much into savings for a bit as our CC bill for the month is very high already, and my car is currently in the shop for several repairs/maintenance. So happy to be up to $16K!!!!!
Also MO is expecting a bonus in the next month or so, hoping that after taxes we will have $2K or so to add to the pot!
March 6 2017 = $14,585.00 +$50.00 My Payday to Our Savings (3/10) +$75.00 My Payday to Mom Loan Savings (3/10) +$10.00 Mortgage Payment Savings +$10.00 Bud Light Rebate +$100.00 Brother paid back +$55.00 FB Sales +$1300.00 2016 Week Challenge Pot March 14, 2017 = $16,185.00
Accounts | 1/1/17 | 2/1/17 | 3/1/17 | 3/14/17
| Local Savings | $2,510 | $3,455 | $7,025 | $8,490
| GC Savings | $2,025 | $2,875 | $2,900 | $2,910
| Cap360 - Us | $1,620 | $1,875 | $2,135 | $2,185
| Cap360 - Mom Loan | $900 | $1,105 | $1,265 | $1,340
| Cap360 - Rental Deposit | $1,260 | $1,260 | $1,260 | $1,260
| Totals | $8,315 | $10,570 | $14,585 | $16,185
|
52 Week Challenge 2017 Total = $508.00(We have paid weeks 1-20 and 46-52) Banker Gurl 3/14/17 $16,185 (Start=$8,315/Saved $7,870/Goal $22,000/Remaining to Goal $14,130)
I'm going to try to update every Friday going forward. I was going to do every 2 weeks like the debt updates, but there is just too much to have to keep track of in little deposits savings for 2 weeks, so every payday should be better.

Oh Savers, I've come to confess... I've discovered LuLaRoe. To the tune of about $1K this month. If there's anything good about this, it is that my new addiction is being cash-flowed. #LuLaRoeCrackHo

Teachermom - Ahhhh Thanks! I appreciate that! I may not be great at a lot of things in life, but saving money I am good at!
I have been slacking with my FB sales, I need to get back on the stick. Been having a major lack of energy and tired lately. Last night I fell asleep at 9pm, then woke up at 2:30am and couldn't really get back to sleep.
Saving4Norway - Whaaaaat!?!? I have never bought from LulaRoe, but $1000 seems like it would be a whole new wardrobe? Or are they really spendy??

That might be part of the problem. I've been stressed out recently, which is also part of the problem. Yea, I'm kinda building a whole new wardrobe which leads me to trying to purge today. The tricky part is that I'm getting mostly spring clothes but the rest of my spring/summer clothes are still packed away. (Around here we're on 21 straight days of rain so they're not being unpacked for a while still.) So I am kind of thinning my cold-weather clothes but it's not really "fair". Like one pair of snow pants out, one pair of capris in. See what I mean? I think my clothes shopping spree is quickly coming to an end, thankfully. I've gotten word that I have won the Summer School scholarship I had applied for so I'll be back to ruthless saving again very soon. (The flight was $2550! OK, well yea, I treated myself to first class...)

finnime There are Facebook groups all over the US, cities, states, etc....and you can sell stuff....basically online garage sales. You take a pic, post info and price. People contact you to buy. Hope that helps! Teachermom

ETA: It is exciting watching savings grow and I can see how when it comes time, you don't want to use it eventhough it is what it was saved for. I projected out my year and doing nothing more than what I am currently doing each pay period (meaning no "snowflake" money, no FB sales or yard sales, no extra pay).....I should hit $15k this year!! Crazy!! 20% of my long term goal. Now, lots of categories will be used up and next year, saving again but that is ok. Another realization I had was I really need to start allocating to my car replacement fund.....it is 8 yrs old and 190k+ but still going strong and regularly maintained by my boyfriend but still need to be planning. Hope to replace it when it hits about 300K....it is a Honda Pilot so got some time left and should make it. I would like to get a new car then which will last me through retirement and may be my last car.....we will see. I think I will add any extras I receive this year from FB sales, yard sales, etc to my car and start working on it!

Remember how I said that my Grandparents were going to pay off our student loans? Well it's not going to happen anytime soon. My uncles money is in 2 lump sums. One lump is tied up in probate, and my aunt has dictated that she is the executor of his estate. A will was never found, but I think she wen t to his house, found it & got rid of it. She won't tell anyone what she is doing with his money or what is going on. We all think she is going to keep it all for herself & 1 other sister. My grandparents are holding on to the policy they inherited to see what my aunt does. This whole thing is messed up. So for now, we will keep plugging away at our debt.

shopaholic814 Bummer! That really sucks! Unfortunately, it takes a death to bring out the "best" in everyone. This happens a lot unfortunately. Happens even when people are alive sometimes and one party manipulates everything and leaves everyone else out. Happening with my boyfriends family right now, the 2 girls have manipulated everything to leave the 4 boys high and dry, without anything when mom dies. Teachermom

Teachermom - Ahhhh Thanks! I appreciate that! I may not be great at a lot of things in life, but saving money I am good at!

finnime - Yes what Teachermom said. They are basically online garage sales, where you post what you have for sale, people message you if they are interested and then you meet to pickup/pay for the items. Most people use this to get rid of unwanted/unneeded items in their home and clear things out, just like a normal garage sale.
The big difference with me is I am a couponer, and I have found a niche in my small community. There are very limited shopping options here (you can't even buy shampoo anywhere unless you buy it at the grocery store or pharmacy or drive to the next town), so I coupon, get items for super cheap, then sell them here for less then you would pay at Target. So I make some side money for my work, and they get waaaaaay less expensive costs for daily items without having to drive an hr to the nearest Target, deal with the parking lot, the carts, the kids, the lines, the sales tax, etc. I have an especially great setup as my Mom lives in the nearest big city (hr away) so we figure out the deals together, she does the shopping, I pick up from her and then I do all the selling. We split the cost of the items, and the sales money. I also have a very large house (hopefully someday we will be able to put some kids in it!) and I have an old canning room that is awesome for storing everything, so I have a little shop and people come and shop from me! It's a lot of fun for me and also helps bulk up savings every week! I sell everything from cosmetics, clothes, shampoo/conditioner, razors, deodorant, tools, toys, books, etc. You name it, I have probably sold it. Check out my blog (link at the bottom of my post) to see the couponing and sales!

nikiz628 - Thank you so much, that really made my day! You are so sweet!
Shop - Oh man....I know all too well about that kind of junk. When someone passes away (especially someone with $$$$) the sh*t usually always hits the fan. This happened on both sides of my family when the last grandparent passed away. Once 30 years ago and once about 10 years ago, and there are still strained relationships on both sides all these years later, and many people that don't talk to each other at all.....all because of the $$ making them into aholes. I just can't understand it, but at least I learned that early in life and can stop the same mistakes from happening in my own family when that time comes. Make your wishes clear to your family both verbally and in writing in your will/trust papers, don't let your family have to "fight it out" to see who gets what. And don't make anything a surprise for them, even if you don't plan on kicking it for years and years, get things squared away now, and make sure everyone is on the same page to avoid confusion and hurt feelings.

DH has two more weeks of infusions every other day at the hospital. And I've not spent any $ on parking there for several weeks, which pleases me. OTH I have had some health issues myself, which as of Monday were identified as a peptic ulcer. Big surprise. Nice thing is that this is very treatable. Much better to have a curable illness!

I forgot who asked, but I did finally find out what my tax refund will be. ~$1400 from Federal, and for some reason $158 from MA. that's a surprise. I think I will send all of that toward CC #5 from my table a few pages back, plus whatever's left from the bonus. I'll let the dust settle on March, and figure out where to go from there. thanks for the advice along the way

Bankergurl, I'm going to add this to one of my posts on the first page. Of course, I will give credit where credit is due... and thank you! Everyone, if you are using quotes within quotes to update your numbers, and need instructions on how to remove the "quotes within quotes" graphics, see page 1, Reply Message #1 (second message down), bolded section. I've also included bankergurl's instructions on adding, deleting, and moving columns and rows.

I'm not upset about the money at all, it's not something I ever thought would happen to us so I can't miss something I never had. What makes me mad is how much what my bitch of an Aunt is doing is upsetting my 90+ yr old grandparents. They shouldn't have to deal with the stress of her, on top of the loss of their son. And this Aunt is married to a millionaire, so it's not like she needs the money she is stealing from the rest of the family, who is no where near as well off as she is. She's just a greedy, manipulative bitch. I just feel so bad for my grandparents, they are the only ones who I care about in all of this.
