Well, I survived day 3 of running. Instead of doing 5 minutes of walking and 2 minutes of jogging and another 5 minutes of walking, I'm doing 3 minutes of walking then 2 minutes of jogging. I repeat 3 times. Next week I'll try to do 2 minutes of walking and 3 minutes of jogging. Eventually I'll be able to do more. I'm getting 10K+ steps in every day, so hopefully will start to see some results soon. I just wish I could get my knees and left ankle to cooperate. Both are not liking all this activity but I can't stop now. I'm going to see the doctor and hopefully come up with a solution. I've been taking glucosamine condroiton (sp?) and its hasn't helped yet. I tried taking Tylenol arthritis the other day like I do for my neck and it didn't work. I'm getting old.

i am getting so frustrated! back in chicago for less than 48 hours and I feel like shit again. My allergies SUCK. my head is congested, i am blowing my nose all the time, ears are plugged and i feel run down. seriously- it was such a nice break in texas when i didn't feel like crap 24/7. i had itchy eyes, but figured out the cause (a pillow that might have been older than me   and changed it and away went the itchy eyes. i felt so much better there, so energized, craving to be active, etc. It is really hard to force yourself to do anything other than curl up in a ball when you feel crappy and have zero energy... oh and when your equilibrium is off because of your ears. *stomps feet* /end rant.

I actually know what happened to the ankle. I came down on it wrong during zumba one day a few weeks ago and it's been weird ever since. The knees I'm chalking up to old age.

My lunchtime workout was no joke today. Now I'm trying to continue the healthy by having vanilla protein oatmeal and greek yogurt for lunch. But let's be real, it's less about being healthy now and more so I can enjoy a cheese burger and cole slaw for dinner

Hey ladies! SUN IS OUT! TEMPS ARE SUPPOSED TO HIT 60s TODAY! mid february. wtf? I WILL TAKE IT! i am so excited yay!
yesterday I had a moment when i was talking to my director and she always dresses so well and is so put together. I had no make up on, because my allergies were crappy and i had a long cowl neck and leggings. I felt SO FRUMPY! i just wanted to run to my desk and hide. I miss being cute! all my cute clothes are too small. we have a very relaxed "dress for your day" dress code, and while I have coworkers that wear hoodies and jeans, i still want to look nice and professional, not like i put minimal effort in. I keep passing LOFT on me way in to work and i see all these cute clothes that I desperately want! Motivation- pure and simple... TO BE CUTE! oh- summer is coming. my birthday is 3ish months away and I want to be at least comfortable in my summer clothes by then!

10k+ steps for the first time this week, finally! DH and I took the fur beast on a walk when I got home... pants, 3/4 sleeve shirt and it was glorious!

Checking in:
150 flights of stairs in 4 days (had Friday off) 2 trips to the gym (I really need to just suck it up and go at least once during the week after work to get this number up) 5 really nice 30-40 minute walks (the weather has continued to be awesome for February)
I'm keeping my carbs to under 60g/day which allows for a lot more choices than 10-15g/day. Even eating more, I haven't gained any of the weight back that I lost, and I'm still feeling much better without all the carb overload that was my usual diet. This seems maintainable.
I can definitely see more muscle definition in my arms and shoulders, which I'm thrilled with. Now if only I could get that in my legs.
Not physical health related, but mental health - I got a prescription for Retin-A from my dermatologist. I've been meaning to ask for it for quite awhile and finally did. I'm hoping it helps a bit with the fine lines. I always feel so much better when I'm doing something proactive for myself.

checking in. got back from the cruise on Wednesday, and have easily the worst case of the sways I've ever had stepping off a boat. and it's definitely not my first time around on this, I've been on over 20. so Thursday was basically spent on the couch after I almost fell out of the shower. I gave up on the day at that point. weighed myself yesterday morning and found a 3lb gain for the trip - shocking for how little I actually ate, but not so shocking when you realize the salt content. oh, and the wine. but I easily walked a couple marathons in running around the ship, so there's some balance there. this morning, I hopped on the scale after a couple days' worth of salt flush efforts (no salt foods, tons of water) to find that I am at about a 4lb loss now for the trip. yes, I had to flush 7lbs of salt water weight. I really wish they would just fucking learn how to cook. so today I'll check in with a 208.0. and more to go.

This amazing weather got us outside today. GPS on my charity miles app clocked us at 8 miles, while me fit bit has me at 7. I will trust the GPS! Two huge blisters on my toes... argh! I thought my balega socks were the answer to that, but I guess not. Back to looking for new shoes!

Weighed this morning and I have broken into the 160s!!! I'm at 169! I'll be happy with 160, but even happier with 150 as my final weight. I think running is paying off. I have also been taking Jackson to the dog park since the weather has been so nice and have been getting 10K+ steps in every day. This is just what I needed! And over the weekend I got a "You look skinny. I wanna punch you." And a "You have great legs." I'll take it.

I've been doing the dog park a lot lately too, Andi. I sought them out due to windy days (which are magnified along the canal) and have come to realize that while the golden will have fun anywhere there are other dogs and people who will just love on her, it's actually been a really good thing for Little Dog as far as better socializing him. it's only been a few weeks, but the difference in him is noticeable. he even has a BFF there - a little border collie mix.
so today, we went there in the morning and then took a quick walk around the neighborhood this afternoon. I was a little hung over this am due to having gone out again last night after I thought I was in for the night. definitely could have done without that. but, solider on! I'm on my 4th refill of my 30oz mug with ice water and I just finished making a pot of a veggie loaded minestrone soup to bring for office dinners this week. basically a knockoff of the olive garden's recipe, but made with everything either low sodium or no salt added. I added a little bit of sea salt while cooking, and end up adding some natural salt flavor when I serve bc I sprinkle a little grated parm cheese on top.

I am also nursing two gross blisters. I drained them today (yuck!) So hopefully I can get back to my steps tomorrow. Only 3k today. Oh, and I found some pretty new New Balance shoes in my closet. I have no idea why I didn't wear them... hopefully I don't find anything wrong with them.

Plus I think he may end up learning a little about personal space. He has a problem with that. There was a rottweiler that didn't like him up in his face and let him know. He didn't hurt him, but definitely made it clear that he was too close. Plus, he plays with other dogs at daycare, but they're indoors so space is limited. At the dog park he can run his little heart out. Plus it's kinda funny when you see him looking beat and you know it's time to go let him nap. I love sleepy puppies.

Did really poorly eating well this past weekend (really the whole week wasn't great), so trying to be better this week. I was only down like half a pound yesterday when I weighed myself - but I consider it a win that I didn't go up. Got some decent walking in over the weekend too.

i stepped on the scale this morning- YEESH! this is my starting point- AGAIN. up 20 pounds from December 2015 and about 10-12ish from October 2016 and while this is horrible... I have to keep reminding myself that i am 30 pounds from my highest weight ever.. which happened sometimes in 2011-2013.
I have been regularly taking my high vitamin D supplements for the past couple of weeks and i hope if starts making a difference soon. When i gained and hit my highest weight years ago, I had S.A.D. and was extremely deficient w/vitamin D. 2016 was one of the hardest years for me... so i just have to cut myself some slack. Time to dust myself off and get to work.
I need to set a reminder to take measurements this week.
