Is there some sort of government agency you can appeal to, debthaven? I am SO sorry. (I had to do that to a former insurance company once. I believe it was the state commerce dept.?)

I don't think so Busy. They were categorical, and at this point, we just need to get the work done rather than stay in limbo for additional months or years. For the house but especially for my mental health.
I'm trying to get DH to agree to accept that lower offer, if it is still even on the table. I would happily take the extra loss just to have some money in the bank. So far he is still refusing, because he feels there's no rush.

Woke up to 3 sales calls on my calendar inside of 45 minutes today, RIGHT when I was going to be working on a turkey. SO, that's delayed! Plus, sales call #2 didn't answer and then called me back 13 minutes into a 15 minute time slot. Sorry lady, I'm already on the phone with the next person ANSWER YOUR PHONE. Gah. People.
I'm somewhat glad to have 4 days with very little human interaction but then again I'll be doing customer service all weekend so who knows?

Hi Kids! Happy Thanksgiving to you All! DH got stuck working, so I'm shopping online until I start my last-minute food prep in about an hour. This is the first year I've gotten ALL of my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving. (Don't worry, there's still plenty of other stuff to do. Like, buying stocking stuffers, and getting all of those Christmas cards completed & in the mail.)

Thanks everybody. I really appreciate your kind words. I am still digesting everything and feeling very low. Just trying to keep up. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. We had a nice time at our friends' house (we alternate years and luckily for me it was their turn.)

cancel MRI? Was that for you debthavenMy day was spent driving for 90 minutes to an airport, flying to another airport, getting rental car and driving an hour to hotel. It was worth it because I am in Boulder.

TheOtherMe it's for my hip ... it's much better now, and I still have one more treatment to do. So the doctor told me to cancel the MRI and reschedule it if/when my hip gets bad again. Enjoy your time in Colorado! Both parent-teacher evenings and 5-day weeks done. Semester countdown: 12/14 weeks done. Weekend list Home- cancel MRI/Sat - edit Essay 1 for DS1/Sat - edit Essay 2 for DS1/Sat- pharmacy/Sat School- MSc: 5 group reports/Sat I'm so tired but I pushed myself tonight after the parent-teacher conferences. I did Shitepile, 2 loads of laundry, ran/emptied the dishwasher and corrected the late paper. So it should be a quiet weekend.

debthaven I am sorry to hear about the insurance rejection and your hip. Fingers crossed that you will find a good resolution to the house issue and that your hip will continue to improve. Today was just what I needed. Work has been so stressful this last month and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. Today was in the mid 50's and sunny outside. We were forecast for showers but didn't see one. I worked outside all day. The exercise, sunshine and fresh air was just what I needed. This morning I got the majority of my outdoor Christmas lights put up. These are the ones that go on the house and I always have to get up on the roof to do the peak above the garage. I may add some to the bushes or deck railing but that is stand on the ground easy. After that I tackled the leaves in the backyard, filled another garbage can full of leaves. My leave are pretty much down but the neighbors are just starting to come down. Every year, for the last 20 years, I get my leaves all raked up and then we get a good wind and I a lot of my neighbors leaves blow over the fence. Then I moved on to pruning and training my berry vines. That is a chore I don't enjoy but it is all but done. There is one little part of raspberries that I need to decide whether to add them in to my row or rip them out. The Boysenberries, which are stickery, are done. They don't look very professional but last years canes are pruned out and this years canes are trained up. My arms looks like I broke up a cat fight but getting outside was totally worth it. The rain comes back in this evening so hopefully I can get the indoors under control tomorrow. I am so wrung out when I get home from work that house is being severely neglected.

Had a pretty good, low key day after Thanksgiving. Worked a little, cleaned up around the house, went to the gym and did some errands (i.e. shopping ). My house cleaner was sick and couldn't make it over today so we're rescheduling since I'd like to have a good clean up before decorating for Christmas. Tomorrow's goal is to go work at the coffee shop for a couple of hours early so I can get my favorite seat and then off to the gym and some sewing projects. I'm working on a to do list for the end of November and up to my vacation.

Made good progress at the coffee shop this morning, even if an old couple gave me the evil eye for sitting in a chair (hey, they had the double sofa right next to my chair, I'm not giving up my spot!).
I went through my journal and got all my tasks out for personal and business stuff.
Made my (hopefully final) packing list for the UK trip.
Added all my orders to my tracking list on the phone so I make sure everything arrives.
Now I'm off to pick up my Christmas tree and then meet a friend for a movie.

I got started getting the house back under control. It took me a good part of today but my bedroom is good and clean now. I always change the sheets on Saturday and pick up the clothes that get dropped in the rocking chair which is usually the jeans I wear in the evening and my cardigans I wear throughout the week. Today everything got dusted with pledge and I did a really good vacuuming including under the bed, dresser, cedar chest, night stand and 2 smaller bookcases. It feels so good to have that room really clean.
The hallway also got vacuumed on my way to the living room. I have started in the living room but then decided to call my friend who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. That was an almost 2 hour phone call.
Tomorrow I hope to finish the living room and get the bathrooms good and clean.

Insurance said NO. Not a penny. I found out this morning on the train to school. I was a wreck, still am. Don't know how I got through the day. They said it was a design fault and not an accident and we're not covered for buried pipes. I even called. Now that I'm home I can't stop crying. It's only money right?! I planned to mark tonight but I can't. Sorry Debt. Reminds me of when I reported a significant pending car repair to the state because of laws covering potholes that cause significant damage to one's vehicle. In the end, in spite of the time and effort made on my part to file (and cost to mail!) the state concluded they would not pay. Not sure if it was because someone had already reported it before the window or didn't. Still annoying. Pothole took out two of my wheels.
Insurance gimmees and exclusions are tough.

We’re just now home from the holiday weekend. After unloading the trailer, This is my list for the afternoon. My list is mostly in my head. I'm relatively sick but more functional as I am on Levaquin. I'm guessing Cardio and Yoga are separate things, but if not I really want to go. I need Cardio Yoga. I am in my 50s and I do need to take care of my heart and distress. Why not both in the same class?
I also want a copy of wild cash as I know I'm already over budget and need to return some of the footwear I bought so I can pay rent not just the end of this month(OK, whew!) but next month as well. And if you find my new to me computer when you are picking up yours, please let me know.
I have confined myself to three maybe four things today Go to church (our sick, better take advanatage) Hair color - try red semi permanent in just a couple areas. Wash and evaluate Laundry Start filling out leave paperwork for work, and email for assistance if needed
Sun/Mon Go to clinic for out sick note#3 with day first out sick listed, i.e. then - now, Optimist out of for medical reasons ... because someone as poor as me would just decide to go out sick for kicks? Finish paperwork Arrive at center b4 end of day shift to meet with boss or whomever I have to meet with to be allowed to return to work. (This will be exhausting) OK I'm depressed now. I bet I have no breakfast wine in the house!

Lol! So sorry about the breakfast whine. Cardio and yoga are separate, but I did neither! I can certainly send you some wild cash It’s our junior high currency.

I might take you up on that. (Wild cash aka Jr. High currency) Went to new to me church for the second time. Going out for some quick errands and then plan to do one to two loads of laundry depending on laundry room status when I start.

All guests are gone and I have been doing laundry and replacing serving pieces, chairs, furniture that was moved...it was a lot of work! Pulled the garbage can over to the fridge and started flinging. We took advantage of lots of leftovers for 3 days, but now I am DONE. Have a platter of assorted desserts that I will take to office tomorrow. We have had some warm weather the past couple days so DH got some of the outside Christmas lights out. I can't even think of inside decorating until next weekend, I need a week in between holidays, ha-ha.

There has to be a cheaper way than taking the car in for service. I have a 2015 Honda Accord which has two fobs. About a month ago, the car told me that the fob batteries were dying. We ordered a package of five batteries off of amazon for less than $10. We opened up the fob, popped out the old battery, put in a new battery, closed up the fob. DD changed the first one about two weeks ago, and I changed the other one yesterday. Seems to have worked.
Do you have fobs or keys with the remotes built in to them?

TheOtherMe I take my fob to a battery shop, a place that sold all different kinds of batteries. They figure out exactly what type of battery I need and they replace it for me. It usually costs about $4 to $5. I feel so much better like my life is back in control. The house is clean. Today: I finished dusting. Finished vacuuming Cleaned the bathrooms really well including changing the litter box I even took the pumice stone to one of the toilets. Our city has well water so we have really hard water and get mineral deposits in the sinks/toilets etc. Fall decorations all put away Shite pile all caught up including filing some stuff checkbook balanced YNAB up to date Waste baskets emptied Garbage under the kitchen sink out in the garbage can Made a list of people that need to be covered for Christmas/Birthdays (Dec and Jan) and what I already have. My lunch is mostly made for work tomorrow, just need to add a sandwich and a soda.
