We may not all agree on politics... but it seems to me that we agree on good music!

a beautiful songwriter lost way too early. RIP Jani Lane LOVE his music. Never forget a concert where he popped up in the audience to sing this song. He popped up about 5 rows behind me. AMAZING.
I don't need to be a superman as long you will always be my biggest fan.....

It was never supposed to be the Cherry Pie album. It was supposed to be Uncle Tom's Cabin. Label wanted a "hit". Jani Lane wrote Cherry Pie on a pizza box. He hated the song. It became the big hit. He was forever known as "the Cherry Pie guy". He wanted this song to be the hit single. He hated being best known for Cherry Pie. (useless information I collect in my empty head)

Jake E Lee (of Ozzy Osbourne fame) had a band called Badlands. Lead Singer Ray Gillen was one of only a couple of heavy metal guys that died of AIDS.
The other most noted AIDS related was RATT guitarist Robyn "the King" Crosby (big blonde haired guy on 2nd guitar)
That RATT tour was one of the best light shows I ever saw in concert (not counting Motley Crue's pyro).

The first 2 or 3 RATT videos they ever made had Milton Berle in them. It's because their manager was Milton Berle's nephew. So they literally had "Uncle Milty" to do their videos. (more useless info)

Sebastian Bach *le sigh*
Useless info : Dave "the Snake" Sabo was originally going to be in Bon Jovi until Richie Sambora came along. To make up for it, Jon Bon Jovi helped Skid Row get a record deal.

One of the most perfectly constructed heavy metal songs. Bruce Dickinson's vocals, the bass & drum runs.

one of my brother's favorite things to draw was Iron Maiden's Eddie. My mom has 4 Eddie's framed & hanging in her house. I let her use mine & in return I got the large framed Whitesnake Slide It In cover he drew.

In HS I took a date to see the movie of Monterey and was just blown away by the music. Quite a list of performers including Jimi's famous bit lighting his guitar on fire to upstage The Who, winners of the coin toss to see who was the last act. But you want power and a woman, this is it!

Funny you mention that. I was scrolling through channels last night because nothing was on, and I stopped briefly on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour on a station that plays old-time stuff. They teased that The Who were on that night, so I stuck around to watch. They did two songs, Pete smashed his guitar, and the drum set exploded because Keith put in ten times the amount of gunpowder or whatever as he usually did, unbeknownst to anybody. Cost Pete his hearing in one ear. Youtube had the whole nine-minute performance up last night, but apparently took down that video.

I have seen that before. Wild. Saw The Who at the Key earlier this year and they were amazing. Same venue as 40 years earlier with Keith and John still alive.

One of the most perfectly constructed heavy metal songs. Bruce Dickinson's vocals, the bass & drum runs. Love, love, LOVE Iron Maiden! It was the best concert I ever went to (the Powerslave tour, with Twisted Sister opening... they were pretty good too). I've got two Iron Maiden stories one happy one sad. Happy one first: Powerslave was the only Heavy Metal record allowed on my High School campus to be played during a class (up until then, and for as long as I kept tabs on the workings at the school)... all because of this song: Sad story... I had the Picture Disc Album for Powerslave. Sadly I sold it for a $5 profit just a few months later. Now, if I still had it, I wouldn't sell it for $1,000. For anyone that doesn't know a "Picture Disc" is a vinyl album that's fully playable... but instead of flat ugly boring black vinyl... it's got artwork under the grooves. Here's what the Powerslave Picture Disc looked like:

Not to worry about the music videos. We've been letting them run. Call it election anxiety/stress relief. I'll move them all to the music forum after the election. mmhmm, Politics Moderator yes! I went to see Don Henley a few weeks back, and about halfway through the set he asked us to humor him and his band, that they had been singing this as a form of therapy while on the road around the country. (I know I'm a few days late, but I've been suffering a regulatory inspection this week. today's the first day back to normal, so I am catching up!)

Touring isn't near as easy as it appears! As long as folks don't take advantage and start dragging more threads off topic, I see no harm in this one. There are plenty of threads in which those who wish to do so can vent their frustrations with the election.

We were given permission to make this thread into videos for the stress relief from the election. All videos will be moved AFTER the election is over.
